A top french team not being invited to a French race? It'll never happen, surely! Even if the team did bring shame to le Tour |

Damn, probably Rabobank, Astana and High Road wont ride Tour either...:x The Protour last year was good, those Tour Bastards are going to invite some noobish French team, they should invite the best team actually,

same story for astana, saunier and rabobank. All 4 had a doping(related) issue during last years tour. |

Well, it's L'Equipe who wrote it, so it's of course not 100 % trustworthy. Today's announcement of the selected teams for Paris-Nice will probably tell us what's on the minds of the ASO-directors
Anyway, speaking of that. McQuaid, UCI, has once again repeated that if ASO doesn't invite all the 18 PT-teams they will degrade Tour de France. A degrade will mean that Tour de France becomes a part of the national French calendar, making it "illegal" for professional teams to participate... |

that should make an end to it, but then they would really have to do it and not only threathen with it... |

The end? Heh, no. The teams would still participate in Tour de France, legal or not. And what would the consequences of that be -- if they took part anyway? |

I only wish that happened. Everyone's been tip-toeing and bullshitting around the situation for years. The only solution to finally end this is tear it all down. So I'm actually hoping that happens. Because in the end of that "war", a winner will emerge and the sport will finally take some direction, whichever direction that may be.
I personally can't stand McQuaid and there were a lot of things wrong with the ProTour. but there is one thing a lot of people don't realise. Which is that if cycling stays in the traditional markets and doesn't expand to Australia, Malaysia, etc, it will be the death of the sport.
It's appaling how the regular fan doesn't understand that, but it's what will happen if the sport doesn't expand. And in case anyone wants to take a hint from other sports, you'll see that's what happens 100% of the time. Expand or die.

This is ridiculous...I dont know now wich doing more damage for cycling..ASO vc. UCI fight ..or doping.
Correct me if I am wrong..
UCI protour effect has been great for cycling...
ASO like to destroy that system (they doing great so far)..they both want to take power position...
ASO sacrifyses what has been good for cycling...hei why not we own TdF (cycling microsoft...) |

do you have to ask? The spanish guardia civil have done everything to hide the large amount of evidence against so many cyclists, tennis, handball and football players. and now they're getting their due back, some of them at least.
