Kinda. It's last year's finish plus a finish on a climb at 3% average

2014 Tour of California route revealed. 2 big mountain top finishes. 1 more mountaineous stage. Rest pretty flat and only a 20km time trial.

So Wiggins won't win this. |

Bit of a general cycling question, so i'll chuck it in here.
How much does it usually cost to host the TDF Grand Depart? Like bidding process and then actual cost?
And any sites or anything with this kind of information or related to hosting a stage start/finish?
(i've got a project to do and am using hosting the TDF start as a basis)

Tinkoff-Saxo's new website is up
Pawel is an allrounder who can offer loyal supporting riding – as well as taking control as he did when winning the 2013 Polish national championships in 2012.

He envisages that hosting the world's most famous cycling race will bring in excess of £100m in economic benefit to the region.
...
With an estimated cost of £6.5m to Yorkshire councils, including a £4m "staging fee" and £10m in assistance made available by the Treasury, there is significant capital involved in ensuring success.

Not sure yet if just coincidental or if it's the start of a new trend, but when GC guys, or should I say the richest riders start winning a lot from the early season, looking finer than ever, or beating records, there's a fishy smell in the air.
Let's wait for more serious races (no offence to those currently held) before jumping to conclusions though. |
