STAGE 7: Gossau - Gossau 32 KM's

This TT has a 2.6 kilometre hill averaging 6% in the first third of the stage before a mostly flat run in.

The first decent times come from a group including Craddock, Herrada, Rasmussen and McCann. All finish around the 53'20 mark after setting off in close proximity.

All these times pale in significance compared to Schumacher. He sets a time of 52'24 which is '44 faster than Rasmussen. The German was clearly saving his energy for today. With well over 100 riders to go this time may already be good enough for the stage win...

Over 70 riders come and go before a rider finishes within '20 of Schumacher. That man is from Semen Indonesia and his name is van Rensburg, he finishes @ 52'44.

It would be a good day for Semen as Camano would also set a decent time. Both of these times would relay good information of the course to their GC leader, Verudgo, who would set a very respectable time of 53'02.

Only the top 10 stand between Schumacher and victory. Gadret shows fantastic form. He goes third fastest, on the day, at the first checkpoint being just '6 down and he is just '15 down at the second checkpoint before losing time on the flat to finish @ 52'58.

Times from Meyer and Roux are close to Schumacher at the first checkpoint but both drift away towards the finish.

Grabsch has had a fantastic tour. He is out on course as news reaches us that Miller goes faster than Schumacher at the first checkpoint by '1. Grabsch was 17th at the first checkpoint, but once he hits the long flat roads he churns over the large gear and quickly eats into the riders above him.

Grabsch is 5th at the second checkpoint before setting a time which would see him finish on the day's podium.......

Grabsch would finish 3rd behind his teammate Schumacher and behind the stage winner, Miller. STAGE WIN FOR IBERIA!

When it comes to time trials they are the top dogs here. Miller deserves the victory having led at all checkpoints on the way to a victory over Schumacher by '15.

A really difficult hilly profile meets us for our first day in Italia. Between 9 kilometres to go and 1.5 kilometres we go the peloton have to tackle the Colle Mollella @ 7.3 kilometres @ 7.7% gradient.

Different riders get into the break today, compared to the first week. The 8 man break was made up of: Pate, Vilela, Vrecer, Dombrowski, Didier, Guama, Herrada and the best placed was de la Fuente (112 @ 21'57).

With 130 kilometres to go Boeing put all of their riders on the front, bar Gadret, and the break's gap of 11'00 starts to come down for the first time. A real show of strength from the team.

Dombrowski and Pate are the only ones out front @ '30 as Bochmann attacks out of the peloton......

The favourites start to rustle. Slagter attacks with 8.7 kilometres to go and quickly passes the escapees..... Before Nieve attacks behind.

Szymd ups the pace and shatters the peloton and only 8 riders can go with him as the attackers are caught, Verdugo is up there and looking good.

Amador, Knees and Millar are dropped and the pink jersey can say goodbye to his jersey.

Nieve attacks again! Gadret follows him before putting in a monster attack....

Slagter rides up to Nieve and they play cat and mouse whilst Gadret extends his lead by the second.....

Behind, well over 2'00, Anacona and Konig put in some attacks......

Gadret wins! He moves into a commanding GC lead in the process.

A show of dominance by the Frenchman in one of his favourite races really destroys everyone else on the day. Nieve and Slagter finish on the days' podium and Verdugo and Millar move up onto the podium in the GC.
