Pre-Race:

Same as last race, Arnaud is here to win stages and we will help him as much as we can.

Stage 1

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/22%20Picardie/PCM0001_zpsdd0d6f24.jpg

Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb were here too and their team did most of the work to control the pace.
We made our sprint train for Arnaud and Geoffrey launched him.

No surprises, John Degenkolb is in great shape, he took the victory with Arnaud ended 2nd.

Stage 2

The profile was announcing a victory for John Degenkolb with the hills before the finish, Like in first stage Argos made all the work and we just had too wait for the finish to come.

I was led by William and Arnaud was in my wheel, I was super strong and I brought Arnaud toward the final meters, I let him go and then I did not stop, which led to a 1-2 for the team.
We are 5 of the team in the top 10.

With the leader jersey on the shoulders of Arnaud, we had to work a little. David and William made the race at the front of the pack to control the breakaway.
This time it's Mickaël that led me and Arnaud toward the finish.
I did my job and left Arnaud do his. He took the 5th position in a stage won by John Degenkolb.

Pre-Race:

With Anthony we will be the leaders here, we are the only one "in shape" today and the others are here to built their form for the coming races.

Race Report:

This was a very weird stage, as they were no breakaway. Some riders tried but no one ever get more than 1'30 on the pack. Everytime the riders were attacking, IAM riders and La Pomme Marseille Riders were bringind them back.

There was also the last attack of the day, by Arthur, with 30 kilometers to go. He never get more than 45" but he got caught in the last 5 kilometers.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/23%20Plumelec/PCM0002_zps2236aedf.jpg

On ce again the race ended in a sprint, I attacked at the bottom of the last climb, no one followed me. Only one rider was faster than me, it was Kevyn Ista (IAM Cycling). Too bad for him he started too late, I won again!!

Pre-Race:

Same as last race, Anthony and I are the leaders.

Race Report:

This time a breakaway was allowed to leave the pack, in fact, four men left as soon as the kilometer 0 was passed.

- Unai Iparraguirre Azpiazu (Euskadi)
- Ioannis Tamouridis (Euskaltel Euskadi)
- Yoann Paillot (La Pomme Marseille)
- Audun Brekke Flotten (Joker - Merida)

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/24%20Aulnes/PCM0002_zps01b54ddd.jpg

The pace was mainly done by us (In fact it was just Benoit) and Katusha. We caught the breakaway and Mikhail Ignatiev (Katusha Team)
tried something. Mathieu brought him back and we waited for the finish.
I had not my shape of yesterday and the victory went to Ion Izagirre Insausti (Euskaltel Euskadi). I ended 4th and Arthur 8th.

Before Giving you the World Tour Results, here is a quick sum-up of the PMU French Cup:

As you can see there are 6 races left and this is not small races, I will have to fight for it.

Now let's recap all the world tour races that occurred during April and May:

@Ian Butler: perhaps a bit overrated in the DB I don't know, he deserved it Grin

@sutty68: I'm playing with the FCD and in that Database, Andy still has his stats of before his injury. (Contador has higher MO stats than both Froome and Quintana)

Stage 2

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/PCM0002_zpsd3f1a99c.jpg

Today, my job was to bring Thibaut as far as I could, but first there were Yoann in the break with Marcus Burghardt (BMC Racing Team), they rode a big part of the race at front until Cannondale decided to brought them back.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%201%202%203/PCM0012_zps22f9007c.jpg

Then with 5 kilometers left, I started to fight against other team to positioned Thibaut at the front, I was strong and the other let me did it so in the end I was leading the pack with Thibaut in my wheel.

If there is one thing that Thibaut should work on it is his acceleration, I launched him perfectly but he only managed to take the 4th position, this is not bad but I'm sure he could have done better.

Stage 3

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/PCM0003_zpsdef766e4.jpg

This was the first stage of the two stages where Arnaud had a chance to take a victory. Cannondale worked hard for Peter Sagan but in the last climb on man managed to get away from the pack. Gianni Meersman (OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling Team) surprised everyone in the pack with his late attack.
The man hang on till the last kilometer, he had the win but this was not the way Sagan was seeing things. He was the fastest and he proved it.
After launching Arnaud, I watched him take the 4th position.

This it for the three first stages, tow top 5 is a good result for the team.
I will be less efficient in the three next stages as they are simply mountain stages. Perhaps you'll see me one day at front in a breakaway.

Tour de Suisse

Stage 4

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/PCM0004_zpsde9faa65.jpg

None of us went in the breakaway, we were all supporting Thibaut so he could arrive to the climb without spending too much energy.

Cannondale and Astana were the team that control the pace and they brought the breakaway to 1'30 at the start of the climb.

With 12 kilometers to go and no one at the front, I brought Thibaut and Arnold too the front.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0001_zpse446b2f1.jpg

Then Thibaut accelerated and he got away from the pack, there was still 8 kilometers to go.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0002_zpsc96763a8.jpg

With 5 kilometers to go Thibaut was caught by Andy Schleck (Radioshack - Leopard) and Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas (Movistar Team). He was not strong enough too follow their fast pace so he waited after Bradley Wiggins (Sky ProCycling) and Vincenzo Nibali (Astana Pro Team).

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0003_zps8b9e9a09.jpg

In the end his choice was the good one to make, Nibali brought him back at the front and Quintana could not follow them.

Nibali won the stage but Thibaut took the 4th position.

Stage 5

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/PCM0005_zps249ff53b.jpg

This stage was the worst stage of the race in terms of weather, we cannot see further than 500 meters, after the stage we saw this pic which I find absolutely beautiful:

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0005_zpsd4a23dc5.jpg

On the top of the first climb, 7 men arrived with 6'30 on the pack, Jeremy was one of them. There was snow every where but thanks to the organizer, it was possible to ride through these magnificent landscapes.

In the last climb Thibaut managed to stay with the best, he fought hard to stay in touch of the group, the acceleration of Quintana was too much for him but with the help of Nibali he came back in the downhill.

To conclude this stage, the four riders with Andy Schleck fought for the victory. It is Thibaut who was the fastest even if the results are very close.

Stage 6

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/PCM0006_zpsb26ce214.jpg

It was the last mountain stage of the race and the weather was more clement than in stage 5.

I had the green light to be in the breakaway, it was a huge responsibility for me as perhaps I could help Thibaut in the end of the stage.

I managed to escape quite quickly due to my bad ranking in the GC and 4 other riders followed me.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0010_zps756d1bb9.jpg

We rode at our own rhythm without worrying about the pack but when we understood that we could not win, I decided to wait for Thibaut who was still in the main group composed of some of the best climbers of the world.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0011_zpsb481fe60.jpg

Thanks to my help he managed to cross the last col first and he even had a small gap to start the downhill.
I was hanging on in a second group behind the favorites' one but with my downhill skills I made the junction.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2013/25%20Suisse/Stage%204%205%206/PCM0012_zps96883f97.jpg

In his head, Thibaut was thinking of a second stage victory, Marc Madiot came specially from France where is preparing the Tour de France to support us, he was cheering Thibaut so loud that I was able to hear him. And he did it, he resisted to the strong come back of Nibali.

I took the 10th position ending in the same time as Thibaut.
