Hello All
For those of you that do not already know me I am Mitchell Birt. I am a 23 year old Stage Racer from Tasmania, Australia. The hills of Tasmania provided a good training ground for me when I was younger. I used to specialize in BMX, I think this is where my technique improved, and also in track where I developed my time-trial power.
My signing for Team NetApp was quite straight forward. Even though I do not mind being a domestique I take the chance to lead whenever possible because it is the best way to show my ability on the bike.
@Peter: I am happy with riding the Tour de Romanide and the Tour of California for Part 2 and can not ask for more, because I am hoping I can ride the Vuelta later in the year.
Looking forward to the 31st of March and the rest of the season.
Mitch

Hey Boss
A small request.
Can I go on holiday back to my home town of Tasmania? Although I like being in Europe I have a while till my first race and would like the chance to see my homeland again.

Yes, of course. We have no say where you want to ride, live or train. For all we cared, you could live in the Arctic. As long as you train and come to the races, we are fine with it. Also, we are no dictatorship. At least, not yet. We will send you your training schedules.

P.S. Oh, and greet your family from us!

Welcome José Alberto Juárez
Team NetApp – Endura is proud to announce its second signing of the Mid-Season, young Mexican talent José Alberto Juárez. The team has always been proud of its international approach and country-spanning connection and hiring such a promising recruit to our squad certainly shows that we are following the right approach.
While the proper introduction will be left mostly to José Alberto himself of course, we can already tell you that his specialty is the Time Trial Discipline. However at the age 18 he still has a lot to learn and Tem NetApp – Endura will be proud to follow his path alongside him. He currently lacks still some much needed Skill in the Flat but with the proper training he could turn into the Mexican… Panzerwagen. Do the Mexicans even have cool tanks? In any way, he has also quite some notable abilities in climbing and stage racing, and we are rather sure that his future will lie in this segment.
Last Name | First Name | Age | Nationality | | José Alberto | Juárez | 18 | Mexico | | | Start Stat | Points spent | Total Stats | | Flat: | 55 | 6 | 61 | | Hill: | 55 | 12 | 67 | | Mnt: | 55 | 14 | 69 | | TT: | 55 | 17 | 71 | | Prol: | 55 | 13 | 68 | | Cob: | 55 | 3 | 58 | | Spr: | 55 | 6 | 61 | | Acc: | 55 | 11 | 66 | | Desc: | 55 | 10 | 65 | | End: | 55 | 8 | 63 | | Res: | 55 | 10 | 65 | | Fight: | 55 | 8 | 63 | | Rec: | 55 | 12 | 67 | |
Obviously since the signing was so close to the deadline much of the race schedule for the Mid-Season has already been laid-out. We still managed to keep a few spots open though and we think that the races will suit José Alberto just fine. He get used to the pro circuit racing already on World Tour level with an appearance at PaÃs Vasco. He will then assist at the Giro del Trentino, where his time trial skills are much needed for the Team Time Trial. Eventually his last race will be the Bayern-Rundfahrt, where another Time Trial awaits for him. Let us know if this schedule suits you and if you want to add any races to it.
WT.4 | Pais Vasco | 1 – 6 April | | | CT.6 | Giro del Trentino | 16 – 19 April | | | CT.6 | Bayern-Rundfahrt | 22 – 26 May |
Welcome to the team, José Alberto, and we hope you enjoy your time with us!

Hi everyone.
Just wantd to drop by to say welcome to the new guys. I haven't really had a chance to meet you yet, but I hope to see you at Luttenberger's for the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
Since last time I have been riding the continental championships - that was a tough one!
A hard route with all the best riders in Europe (so basically the best in the world) made it all about survival for me. I did learn a lot from it though and I feel a bit more capeable of handling hills atfer this experience.
Also I have been training my sprint to hopefully do a bit better in the finish the next time i hit the right break. Hopefully we'll see the results of that already in my first race of this part of the season, Tour of Turkey even though I have a feeling it will be the strongest peloton in Turkey ever!

Mitch's Trip Down Under- Day 1
As soon as I was granted permission I went on this thing to Munich Airport.
I joined the surprisingly short queue for check in.
Within an hour I was up in the air and on my way to Sydney.
After the long flight the last thing I needed was to wait in this for 4 hours...
I eventually got through and as I left the building someone seemed happy.
A short taxi trip later I arrived at my hotel and what a view I had from my room. I collapsed onto my bed and took a much needed rest.

Hi, I was already introduced by the team management. My name is José A. Juárez. I am from Atlixco, a small city 200 kms away from Ciudad de Mexico and for next year I got my first contract as a proefessional cyclist.
German procontinental team NetApp trusts in my abilities and my potential development. So far I took part in youth races in Mexico, of which I won a lot, especially time trials, that had hills in them, and uphill finishes. But as soon as the racing took place in the flat I had struggles to keep contact. Definitely something I will have to work on in the future.
After some troubles with my luggage, I now finally arrived in Germany. Right now I am staying in a hotel in Munich, but I am looking for an appartement.
The first thing that surprised me very much in my new home were the huge prices. Everything is way more expensive than back in Mexico. Luckily my wage isn't too bad and I think my stay will be affordable.
Munich is a very beautiful city. Right after I arrived I went on exploring the city, it is the first time I'm in Europe. Especially stunning I found all the old buildings and their style of architecture with all the arches,.... Also I am very looking forward to the "Oktoberfest", that also takes place in Munich.
Right when I arrived I got an e-Mail from the DS of Netapp containing my race schedule until July. Racing kicks of for me with my first World Tour race, the Vuelta a Pais Vasco, I am very happy with that and hope I will be able to support my leader there with all I got. Also I will be racing the Giro del Trentino, where my timetrial skills will be valuable in the TeamTimeTrial. My last race in the coming period will be the Bayern-Rundfahrt, which takes place just outside Munich, so I won't have to travel there very long. |

Mitch's Trip Down Under- Day 2
Due to my limited budget I could only spend the one day in Sydney. I decided to make the most of it because it would be stupid not to.
I started the day off with an awesome tour of the Sydney Opera House, the inside is absolutely beautiful.
I then went to the one and only Bondi Beach. As always, it was absolutely crowded but there is always an abundance of attractive ladies. I kind of stayed with these girls for a while
Then, as you do, I went on a nice cycle around town and got this nice shot of the ANZAC Bridge, until this rude bastard photo bombed it.
That evening I took a bus to the SCG and watched a thrilling AFL game between the Sydney swans and the Geelong Cats, which Geelong won.
After the game I stopped at a Liquor Store and spent the rest of the night sitting on the deck of my hotel room with a beer in my hand. I slept well that night.

He's a professional cyclist, he shouldn't drink beer anyway, Ollfardh. So all's good.

Heineken is a good beer.
@Shonak
Just because he is a pro cyclist does not mean he can not have a few drinks. You have to stay happy some times.

Hey Boss
Just wondering.
Will I have enough Race Days to race the Vuelta and another WT race in Part 3 if I race in Trentino in Part 2.
Keeping in mind I have 45 RD for Part 2 and 3.
Thanks
Mitch
