Not last. Van Garderen crushing the opposition is rather surprising, expected it to be a lot closer in the top. |

Decent for Tuft, but could be better.

Gratz BMC!
Weirdly enough, both times the 2nd placed is 49 seconds behind the winner. Hm. o_O

Continental Championships
Day Three and the final Time Trial event of the Continental Championships. After Aufrasia and America, we now have the European riders competing for the victory.
The world's strongest Time Trialists are gathered here for the prestige of taking a Gold Medal home.
Among the favorites are Martin, Cancellara, Wiggins and Froome. But one should not forget about Chavanel, Velits and Boasson Hagen.
One thing's for sure. Team Sky and Quick Step, without a doubt the two strongest teams here, will be looking for one Medal only: Gold!
Continental Championships - European Time Trial Event
Roche was the first one to set a pretty nice time. Van Den Broeck seems to be lacking form and misses out on the hotseat.
But Roche's time didn't last long. Luis Leon Sanchez came along and upped the stakes. Quite an impressive run, or should I say, ride!
The rain came down heavy at times. Many fans feared for a drop in Wiggins' performance with this rain, but they were to be proven wrong.
He set back the competition minutes.
Then it was a waiting game. Nobody was able to even come close to Wiggins' time. Many tried, just as much failed. Among them were Chavanel, who performed fairly well either way, Birtles, from whom everyone expected more than what he achieved and Izagirre, who had an amazing start but totally lost his rhythm in the second part of the race.
We waited for the big guns to prove their strength. Cancellara couldn't even come within the minute of Wiggins' time.
Even Froome didn't have the legs to beat his team mate. All eyes turned on Tony Martin. He, as World Champion, would surely beat Wiggins on the terrain where he conquered his Rainbow Jersey?

But no! Wiggins, one of the very first in the field today, was able to stay in the hotseat until the very end. Surely this must be one incredible victory for both Wiggins and the Team. Well done!
Po-ding Kim Ultimate Crown Po-ding Kim can crown himself absolute Time Trial Champion. Now that all three Time Trials have been raced, the times can be compared. No one else than Po-ding comes out on top, with the top time of 1h02'01"

Weird result, Panzerwagen and Quickstep must be disappointed.
This was also the first race where none of our riders finished in the Top 5 ... or 10 ... or 15 ... or 20 ... or 30 ... or 40.

Imagine how Bardiani must feel, though. Only Ciolek was good (bad) enough to avoid them taking the last 4 places here |

Well, some teams were just sending riders to make their sponsors happy. Big event and all

At least the three champions hold the 3 best times. Nobody can be saying it's unfair they didn't win a prize |

Thanks for some great ITT-reports - and for the pic of Ion - it really shows in his tan that he comes straight from racing in Oman
Izagirre finishing 10 seconds out of top 20 is decent. After his TT-update we can actually start hoping for the occasional TT-result that are less than abysmal

Erm... was Wiggins riding a motorbike?
Birtles disappointing, being beaten by Arblaster and Clentador. While BMC had a stupendous day, picking up two top 50s. Nerz almost did the same time as Thomas!
Also, let's not overreact to the times, this was run in the wet. Wiggins would have been miles ahead of Kim if everything was equal.
