Very impressive by Adam Yates. With him and Simon we may have Britain's Feillu brothers, one a sprinter and one a climber. |

Great win for Fernandez. For the ones who don't know him, he's a good climber, with a good TT + he has a good sprint in reduced sprint finishes. Some spanish name him as the next LLS. |

A really short day today, at about 70km, but the break is dangerous:

Tour de l'Avenir
Stage 5 » Saint Gervais › Morzine
Gougeard (FRA), Simon & Adam Yates (GBR) and Haugaard Jensen (DEN) broke away at the top of Col des Gets and made it to the end.
Adam helped Simon to take his 2nd Avenir stage ( first in 2011 ). Great talents for Britain. Adam is looking great for good GC result as well.
In GC Fernandez leads Adam Yates, with 1:02 the advanatge. Formolo the loser of the day.

Beckeringh was part of the break too but had a puncture, while Haugaard had a mechanical inside the last km's.

Tour de l'Avenir
Stage 7 » Châtel › Plâteau des Glières
Julian Alaphilippe & Matej Mohoric were part of break, the two proved the strongest and made it to the end, Julian was the stronger of the two and came with a gap of around 30 seconds I believe. After getting 3rd three times in a row, nice way to end Avenir for him. Mohoric for his age, had a very good debut Avenir too.
Tour de l'Avenir
[b]General Classification
Ruben Fernandez defended well after his impressive win on stage 4 and took a massive, and slightly surprising win.
Adam Yates finished 2nd, a very strong ride by him in all of the stages, along his brother who comes in 10th, for not a pure climber, it's a good achievement. Great ride by the duo and should make sure they have pro contracts ready for next year.
Patrick Konrad improved from last year and finished on a very nice podium.
And I believe Oskar Svendsen is the youngest rider in Top 5 in GC for some time, great ride by him too.

Also, I must say, that the Colombians(Chamorro, Rivera & Parra) disappointed me here.
Really expected them to at least end up in the Top 3, and probably even 2 in the Top 10.
I actually even thought they could grab the GC.
Kazakhstan won the team classification, which isn't something I expected either.
Kozakatyev in particular did a good job there.
Colombia even 5th on team classification, behind the Netherlands, who didn't even bring great climbers(Beckeringh is okay, but not that good).

Brewers and I had a small discussion about Juniors, which, if it continues, should continue here

Also, what about Tao Geoghegan Hart aswell, even though he is only 18, he looks a phenomenal talent. Difficult to judge atm but he's slaughtering the Juniors this year.
Oh, if we're on guys slaughtering Juniors this year, take a look at Mathieu van der Poel, for sure
He continued his domination in cyclo-cross on the road, for sure.
Oh definitely, those two are the standouts in that age category this year. But he's Dutch, so he'll be crap by the time he's 23
Grr, that's mean.
Really hope he'll go 100% on the road, though he's a big cyclo-cross talent as well, my cyclo-cross interest is 0 and will stay 0...
Also, I just noticed a junior talent called Keldermans. Yay
PS. Add Mads Pedersen to that list.

Piccolo Giro di Lombardia (1.2)
Villella probably finishes the season in great fashion. Both Villella and Zilioli look like great gems.
Bit out of blue 2nd place for Filosi, he's been average on the Italian domestic scene before this result.

How the hell did those strange time gaps appear? In Paris-Tours of all races...
