In Amsterdam 30 000 people have no job, and still they needed to hire 40 Polish busdrivers + 40 translators |

Over here the Poles work longer and for less.
And they do a much better job than we do too

Good luck isso with the new adventure...It won't be long until I join you trapsing off round the world: I start my new job in September. I don't know where I'll be, all I know is it'll always change...where will I work? On a boat of course, surveying the sea floor!
Now, am I going off topic, or back onto it? |

Polish doesn't steal jobs. They are given to them by the employers. And because they want to work harder for less money isn't stealing - that is, my friend, competition. And since it is a global world, you might as well get used to it. |

You are way too serious
I know it is competition, you know why it is competition? Because Polish go to interviews and agree to work for less and for more hours. Polish people that have been granted access by the government, to stay in Britain and because they will work for longer and for less, they are getting jobs ahead of British people.
My mate, has an A* in food and has experience as a small-time chef, he got rejected from an interview for a chef-job, you know the reason the boss gave? "Well there is this Polish guy, he doesn't have a CV as good as yours but he has agreed to work longer hours and for less money"
To me that is stealing jobs (if we didn't allow Polish people to live in Britain then the jobs would be going to the British people with actual qualifications rather than Polish people who have none but will work for anything and for how long the boss wants), it isn't against the law no, but to me that is as bad as stealing jobs, that a very underqualified Polish person gets a job over a British man with all the good qualifications, just because they work for longer and for less. You are obviously Polish though so I guess there is no way to reason with you

I would have to disagree with you and say the influx of Polish workers has been a good thing. I'm drawing on generalities here, not specific cases, but they do work harder, they are more productive.
And given the cosmopolitan and diverse nation the UK is, I think it's better we don't think of them as stealing our jobs.

You see, this is why I normally don't get involved in these types of discussion, you all use fancy words that I don't understand
I only know "juxtoposition" and I don't know what it means, I just put it in every one of my English tests randomly (I'm not great at English, so putting words in randomly might help)
Lets just say, if an underqualified Polish person got a job ahead of me, that I had all the proper qualifications for, I would not be happy

the polish doesnt always do a better job though. if someone want real quality they usually dont go for the polish guys because there is few ways to really know if they're good or not. |

the polish are mostly doing jobs we don't want in the first place, sorry but it's true. They're not "stealing" our jobs at all. Hands up who wants to work at McDonalds, Call Centres, Rubbish Collectors.

They also work in a lot of kitchens at restaurant a lot better than McDonalds
And all the call center jobs are diverted to India...It is now a big thing in England for an advert to say "call center's based in UK!" and they still won't be English people...

If it's good food are you bothered. If they are highly skilled they bring alot to us and i'm fine with them working where ever they want.

I am bothered when my mate has experience as a small-time chef and an A* in food, yet the job goes to the Polish person with no qualifications or experience but gets it purely because he will work for less and work for longer

well thats what i was saying, a low skilled worker shouldn't take the place of a high skilled worker. It should be equal, treated as if they were Brits.

It is mainly this kind of thing I am talking about:
British workers denied jobs as they don't speak Polish

Well it depeneds what the job was, there is no point hiring jamie oliver to clean plates over a polish person but no restraunt would hire some random pole as head chef cause hes cheap
