Hmm well I been much busier than usual lately, so apologies for that... however, I will be going on holiday for 1 week starting Saturday.
So I'll either post 2 reports tomorrow, or I might just leave it, and pick up in 1 week! Again, sorry for the delay! |

Good News, I got hold of Wi-Fi so I can continue reporting now
Its very unreliable though, so reports might come in short bursts over the next few days.
PARIS - NICE
Stage 2
A rather more difficult course today with a particularly nasty final 10km. Whoever wants to win this race has to start performing well today.
Kreuziger (Logitech) and Salgado (Santander) are the early attackers today. Kreuziger wins the first three KOM to earn the mountain jersey.
With 95km still to ride, Uran (Caixa) moves off the front.
What a surprise - Arno Leclair launches his team-leader and big race favourite, Leroy Verlinden, off the front and he quickly passes Uran.
Sergio Henao (Commerzbank) decides to head up the road to compatriot Uran, but they are both caught with 44km to ride.
31km to go, and Verlinden has made his way up to Salgado at the front of the race. Kreuziger was dropped a few kilometres back, and its not long until young Salgado is dropped too.
Damn, bad news for Unicef as their leader Paul Kearns crashes with 30km to ride. He gets back on the bike and has Talansky for help, but the race is really on at the front now...
Verliden still has a substantial 1:35 minutes on the bunch on the final KOM (8km to finish).
Nazaret is next over with a recovered Henao in tow. Behind, a 37 man group (surprisingly race leader Cavendish is still here).
Verlidnen tires on the final ramp to the finish, as a 12-man selective group bears down on him. Non-present are Cavendish, Kearns, and surprisingly Nazaret.
But, in an unconventional display of strength, Leeeeeroy hangs on, just ahead of Andy Schleck!

PARIS-NICE
Stage 3
A day for the sprinters. Or maybe the break?
The break of Kaspar (BBC), Reyes (Caixa), Mironov (Gazprom), Aru (Bianchi), Ozolins (Eurosport), and mountain jersey Kreuziger (Logitech).
Unsurprisingly, Kreuziger slips away for the 4 mountain points on offer today. At this point it doesn't look too good for the break: 3:25 advantage with 60km to ride.
The escapees are caught and the sprinters decide to line up in single-file: Rensberg-Ryder-Baggio-Fonseca-Cavendish (highlighted).
The sprint is off, but Cavendish, in the dark green of Sproza, is somewhat boxed in. Can he come round?
Of course - the Manxman finds a gap through the inside barriers and storms ahead of Baggio for a second stage win!
The only casualty of the fast run in was GC 15th Marcel Kappel (Logitech). At least they still have Tjaz Broz in 9th. Also, Unicef's Paul Kearns finished safely in the main bunch, so seems to have recovered from yesterday's crash.

Stage 4
Yeneko Salgado has been ever-aggressive for Santander in the early season and today was no different.
Michael Morkov (Alka) joins him up front, as a group of 7 poursuivants (Leggieri, Pasveer, Raimbekov, Silva, De Vroom, Romilly and Karstensen) chase them for much of the day.
The duo hold a solid lead throughout the day... but they eventually tire on the final climb, and the aggressive Leeroy Verlinden appears out of nowhere on their wheels as they cross the climb.
Next accross is Silin (Gazprom) and Henao (Commerzbank), about 30 seconds back. Meanwhile, Songezo Jim, Andy Schleck and Tjaz Broz are the only riders within a minute of Silin.
Easy, easy! Verlinden extends his lead on the descent to surely seal the overall victory, even with tomorrow's uphill time trial still to come.
Silin just pips Henao for 2nd. Henao leapfrogs Schleck for second place in GC now.

PARIS-NICE
Stage 5
It's up the Col d'Eze to decide the winner of Paris-Nice. Well, perhaps "confirm" is a more applicable word given the circumstances...
...Can Leeeeeroy make it an incredible 5 out of 5 for Sporza today as he looks to ice the nice cake he has been baking in France?
Roman Kreuziger (Logitech) has had a decent race in France. He narrowly sealed the mountains classification yesterday, and also sets the early best time today.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 33rd +1:44
Thomas (BBC) is strong today in spite of the uphill profile. A new best time at 21:50.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 13th +1:05
Paul Kearns (Unicef) may have lost his GC aspirations on his 2nd stage crash, but is trying to make up for things today, smashing G's time by 14 seconds.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 11th +51
Rigoberto Uran (Caixa) waste no time in setting the bar yet higher. Now we're looking at 21:11 as the fastest time.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 4th +26
Nazaret (Benfica) can only manage 21:33 for provisional 2nd.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 9th +47
Best U25 Broz (Logitech) confirms his blue jersey victory with a provisonal 3rd.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 8th +44
Chris Froome has an inspectacular ride in 5th thus far, 22 seconds back on Uran. Clearly age is having its toll on the Kenyan-born rider.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 10th +48
And now a new 3rd place for Valerio Agnoli (Bianchi)...
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 7th +43
...but it's not enough to move him ahead of Songezo Jim for 5th in GC. Jim has a solid ride with 8th so far.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 12th +53
Egor Silin comes up to the line looking fast... and it's a great time, enough to top Uran by 1 second.
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 3rd +25
And it's enough to nick 3rd place in the GC from Andy Schleck. Trust Schleck to botch his race up on a time trial, uphill or not!
Spoiler Final Stage Placing - 5th +34
Booom! Henao flies through on a time of 20:51 to take the new best time. He's looking for a full 1:17 on Verlinden to take the overall victory though...
... but... naturally it's Verliden who makes up the time on Henao. Hi-Fives in the Sporza camp as they not only confirm the race win but also win all five stages at Paris-Nice!

EIRE SPRINTERS TOUR
It's all about the sprinters as the Pfan Cup heads north to Ireland.
Most of the major powerhouses are here, such as Alexander Kristoff (Alka), Bernardo Mateo (Ferrari) and Ben Swift (BBC), who may have extra motivation in the British Isles.
The most notable exemption is Sporza's Mark Cavendish, who made a rather successful trip to Paris-Nice instead.
Stage 2 presents the only notable difficulty of the route, which might suit the slightly more punchy sprinters. Or else, don't rule out Eurosport's Florien Marcoux, who upset the sprinters at the Down Under Classic.

Bouhanni is still team leader over Marcoux, regardless of past form!

A great result for Silin, I knew he could do it!
But that Sporza rider seemed undefeatable.
Judging by this Ireland tour startlist, Galimzyanov ain't going to win the mass sprints. |

EIRE SPRINTERS TOUR
Stage 1
Unfortunately the game crashed during the replay (first time I ever used replay instead of live pictures too ).
After the break was caught, Jurgen Roelandts crashed on the run-in but avoided losing time.
The other sprinters took their place in a controlled but nonetheless fast-paced sprint.
The sprint was contested between the trio of Kristoff, Swift and Mateo, with Kristoff streaking down the middle in the final 20 metres to narrowly pip Swift to the line and take the race lead.

EIRE SPRINTERS TOUR
Stage 2
Le break. Matulin (Caixa), Messerli (Commerzbank), Albronda (Eneco), Courtemanche (Eurosport), Hamilton (Unicef), Mironov (Gazprom).
There are several routes on offer for the sprinters as the road starts to rise:
Schulte leads Mateo-Bouhanni-Petit on the right.
Down the middle Goss leads Swift-Mackenzie-Ciolek.
On the left, Kristoff is sneaking up on Morkov's tail.
Here they come... it looks like the green jersey of Swift is leading the charge...
...Swift uses the uphill slog to tear away from the others and take a convincing win. No time gaps are awarded amongst the favourites, however.
