Thanks. I've started to add season goals for all the riders. The bigger name riders will have fairly standard goals, others more story driven like Phinney.
If you got any idea for season goals for riders, feel free to discuss them here. |

Good luck in Argentina, you sure stand a chance with Roche.
As an idea for personal goals, you can tell eg Quintana he should win at least 1 KoM in a GT.

Yeah, the obvious candidate for San Luis is Roche, but we will see. I think Phinney could go quite well (depending on what sprinters turn up) and after the performance in Australia count out Meyer at your peril.
That said, its time to go do the first stage XD
EDIT: Looking awesome for Phinney actually. Just started the first stage, the only sprinters here are Howard (OGE. Because obviously, they don't do anything else other then sprint), Hinault (Is leading IAM here, so good support) and Oss (BMC, but Pinotti is leading.) Other then that, theres a couple of other "sprinters" but none of them are better then Phinney and i have a pretty good train here with Haedo and Sabatini.

Tour of San Luis
San Luis - Villa Mercedes - 163k
With the lineups today, we should really be chasing a stage victory. We aren't set out as a pure sprinter team, but that should work to our advantage. There are some sprint teams here, but they lack any true quality sprinters. They will be expected to work.
We shall look to put Spilak in the break as he needs some good riding in his legs in preperation for the mountain stages later in the week. Also to further lessen the expectation of us to do any work. We shall then look to hammer the run in as hard as we can. With a flat finish, Sabatini will be the final lead out man today.
The days break, containing the twosome of Marco Corti (COL) amd Miguel Ubeto (LAM)
Spilak tried till he was almost empty to get in a break. He followed moves, made moves, all to no avail. No-one would ride with him and the pack would not let him go. Eventually he fell back to our group in the pack and we proceeded to do absolutely nothing all day. The gap reached out to almost 12 minutes before it got wound slowly back in. As the race got near the business end, we moved towards the front but still doing exactly no work.
A huge cross wind swept across the track, partially head on for the last third of the race. This played perfectly into our hands. As we came into the final 20k..
Where we took control of the race. With a whole team fresh on the first day of the tour, we set a high pace early on with Spilak leading the way (Haedo missing from train as his still bringing some bottles back up)
Many riders struggle to cope with high pace and strong winds, causing a big crash at the back. They are unlikely to catch the pack back at this stage in the race.
Haedo takes over at the front and Sabatini loses his wheel for a moment. He soons latches back on
The only real question at this point is whether Phinney will manage to get past Sabatini with 900 meter to go. The train has broken the rest of the sprinters.
Of course he can. With 500 meters to go, there is only one thing let to do.
TOTALLY AWESOME JERSEY SHOT!
Lead-out was so strong that Sabatini followed over in second. No more lazy days doing no work for us I think. 17 riders involved in the crash didn't make it back to the peleton and lost time, as well as several other riders unable to keep with the pace late on. The headwind caused chaos.

KOM Boring with only 1 cat 4 climb. Young Riders also always kinda broken, and not worth listing at this stage. Obviously Phinney is the leader of it XD

Yeah everything played out perfectly in the end. I think there was definately some expectation on me early on, which meant they had to work that much harder in the headwind. The moment I hit the front at 18k I knew the win was in the bag unless i was stupid. I just played it careful, as you can see the 2.5k pic. Normally i'd have taken one man off there, but i'd kept a extra infront as a wind buffer .
Its an appalling field though really. That + fitness means this is probably going to be bit easy. The climbing will be interesting though, Roche isn't as good as fitness as Phinney/Sabatina and Meyer isnt equal to the best climbers so his good fitness wont make things certain.
I do now fully expect Phinney to take points Jersey, as he should win tomorrow. And stage 4 as thats the TT. I'm just curious as too how many minutes he will win by |

It was the train rather then Phinney. If Sabatini or Haedo had been on the pack you'd have seen the same thing.
This is rather typicial of my early season though. the first month and a half i win everything due to better fitness management and fitness camps (which i believe the ai do not use). As soon as the ai fitness levels get up to par, everything gets more interesting. Its why i'm not suggesting going to hard yet (if the ease of winning is the same come classics season i will go up a level. I've been playing medium a while now so i may need to scale up.
Not sure if i'll manage update tonight. I'm going out now, might not be back in time to get game played. photo'd and posted. If I don't manage to get it in, i'll do a double update tomorrow. |

@ Selwink: Spilak is very unfit at the moment so his not likely to get a result himself. He will do an awesome job for Roche or Phinney come the bumps though.
@krisa: Indeed, was a good win. Hopefully I'll give you another good win by the All American Express in an hour or so.
@ all: Apologies again for no update yesterday but I am now home and starting stage two. Hopefully will get stage 3 done as well (since eurosport aren't showing me any of todays replys for another 4 hours.) |

Tour of San Luis - Stage 2
Tilisarao - Terrazas del Portezuelo - 171.4kkm
Going for the win today. After yesterday its clear both Phinney and Sabatini are looking great and the rest of the team looking strong. We may have to alot of work today though now we are leaders, although we shall try and shirk our duties ahead of the mountains tomorrow, where we will probably have to work hard.
The days break, containing Edwig Cammaerts (Cofidis), Dirk Bellemaker (Lotto-Bellisol) Adrian Kurek (CCC), Evaldas Siskevicius (Sojasun) and Alex Dowsett (Moviestar)
Forming just a few kilometer into the race, the breakaway was chased hard for about 40 kilometers, at which point IAM finally decided to let the gap stretch out from a minute. We took this early opportunity to rest up in the pack. Spilak made an attempt to infiltrate the days breaks once again, but was never allowed to get away, with a conveyer belt of riders forming behind him each time he made or followed an attack ensuring he was never out of the peleton.
When they finally gave up chasing the break to the sprint point, the gap stretched quite alarmingly. Over 15k, it went from 1minute to seven and a half. We should probably have taken over but as Team IAM have shown their hand early, decide to hold on a bit. It works, as IAM return to the front and with some help from Team Androni to start holding the gap at 7'30. By the halfway point, the gap is back under 6 minutes.
All of our team taking things easy in the pack
With 20k to go the gap is down to 1'30, so the break make the last sprint of the day, but will be surely swallowed up. So we waited. Finally with the 10k to go, the break was nearly reached and we formed our train.
With our own train and the train of Androni pushing hard, the break is caught by the 8k mark (you can see them top right)
Roache puts in a huge push as we pass the break, the rest of the riders getting caught up with the slower moving breakaway ones, putting us in pole position with 6k to go.
Meyer works TT mode for the next 3k, keeping us firmly in control and things strung out before handing over to Haedo for the last 3k. He sets an incredible high tempo, but with no other train around doesnt start sprinting.
When we hit 1500 meter to go, no-one has started thier sprints yet, so Sabatini takes his cue and leads out the sprint, the big figure of Phinney firmly in his wheel.
With 500 too go nothing is certain, with Marko Kump (Saxo-Tinkoff) and Guillaume Boivin (Androni) narrowly ahead.
But Boivin fades over the the next 200 and Kump is beaten to the line by a couple of wheel length and Talyor Whinney makes its two in a row.
The fast pace at the end caused a split in the pack during the run it, costing a bunch of riders including Spilak 1'35".
