I don't think Alonso would have had any trouble finishing at least 2nd today if not for his DRS - seeing as how he lost time with his DRS open all lap, lost time for the rest of the race by not having use of DRS - thus making it more of a challenge to overtake - plus the extra pitstop that he was forced to so. And how well he still managed to do considering all of that.
But a nice race. Vettel never in difficulty after the first few laps, some good differing strategys and plenty of good racing - even outside the DRS zones - which can be unusual for Bahrain.

For about 4-5laps (6-7.5s), of which about 1-2s would be regained by the decrease in drag on the straights.
8 laps. Immediately after the 1st stop the DRS failed again. It wasn't until his 2nd stop that he was told to stop using it
The 1.5s are already taking into account the drag reduction. They're from live timing.
More importantly, he spend scads of time in the midfield stuck behind slow cars and lost ages overtaking them without DRS. Meanwhile,Vettel had a free track

And as i'm on unlucky people, Sutil. Race over at Turn4 and clearly the Force India was fast, so he probably lost a Top6 finish with that.
Indeed

And Vergne, t-boned by the Caterham. Ok so the Torro Rossos were not quick but race ruined regardless.
Verge has had very bad luck since his F1 debut. Also, he's been very disappointing. Ricciardo is not exactly a star driver as shown by his pre-f1 performances and Vergne (decent but not brilliant) was supposed to thrash him despite having less F1 experience.

Vergne is unlucky, but Torro Rosso does seem to ruin drivers regardless. (exception of Vettel). No-one there has ever impressed me, and those with good records coming in have faded into nothing and been shipped off out, only to bring in more Red Bull youth with no hope.

As non Vettel fan, his dominance today bothered me a little bit. Do you guys think it has to do with good day + good track for the car, improved setup + car, or the "new" tires?

Good Driver + Good Car + Good Steup + Good Day
and it will be the same for every winner this season, last season etc.
Honestly I'm more interested in if Raikkonen really is going to be the guy to fill Webber's place at Red Bull next year

Yes, thats quite clear. I rather mean Vettel looked much better than in the previous races.

I was really astonished that Alonso could keep his car on the track while his DRS was open. Normally they fly off the track when it's open in the corners.
A pretty good race. It might not have been exiting in terms of who was going to win, but there was a lot of fighting, something that's all the more fun when it's two temmates!
Sudden pop-quiz; which driver said that he was "pushing like a hell!"
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Heh. Funny you should mention him, as I just mentioned him a short while ago on another forum.
Someone said he couldn't remember a car being this good in qualifying yet this crap in the race (Mercedes), so I said "Jarno Tr...oh wait he's not a car". Fits him to a tee, that description does.

I once got banned from a forum for replying to something racist an italian guy had said with
"not bad, but let's try it even more racist. Do that again but dressed in a Mario costume and preface it with jumping out and saying IT'S-A ME! DARIO!" (his name was Dario)

The question then becomes who will be Red Bull's number 2. No great options available, since they rejected Hamilton last winter

Kubica doesn't have mobility in his wrist enough to turn the wheel inside a formula car. And probably never will.
Hulkenberg has Ferrari ties. He's unlikely to be available
