Season planning under way!

The management has started to work on the season planning over the weekend, and we're glad to announce our currect riders have received a big part of their schedule for the upcoming season. The percentages of completion vary from 63% to even 100% for 1 rider!

As more riders get drafted, the schedules will be further updated and completed. Speaking of the draft, you'll see our 100% Belgian list coming up in the next round!

The first award and 2 new riders!

Dear fans, we are glad to announce you we have won our first price of the season - before it even started! The round 11-12 sponsor award was won by Lierse - Pizza Ullo, thanks to our selected list. Of course this means a lot to our sponsors, but I hope our fans can also appreciate our effords to sign local riders in the team.

On that note, we can announce two more riders signing with Lierse - Pizza Ullo, both Belgian and both excellent riders!

The first one is Gianni Meersman, who is a 26 year old puncheur. Gianni is not a top sprinter, but he will be getting us results after all the other sprinters are dropped on a hill and he is still safely in the pack. Or he can take care of an uphill sprint where his acceleration skills come in handy. If not doing that, he'll be the perfect lead out man for our top sprinters, Giacomo Nizzolo and Arnaud Démare.

The second rider that signed is Stijn Devolder. How many riders can say they've been Belgian road race champion, time trial champion and Ronde van Vlaanderen winner? Ok good, now how many can say they've done all of this twice? Correct, Stijn Devolder! With his age, he realised he won't be the stage racer he wanted to be. But even at 32, he'll be one of the most useful and alround riders in our team for the next 3 years.

Two more Belgian talents added to the team!

We're happy to add 2 more important names to our roster. Jan Bakelants and Bart De Clercq. Both are 25 year old Belgians who know how to handle hills and mountains. They are capable of getting us stage wins and help the big names in the grand tours. Furthermore, they are guys who have not reached their full potential yet, and we hope they will further develop while in our team.

For the next round, we have a youth product coming up. The round after we will be going for someone with fast legs. With over half the roster filled up now, the chanc eof getting leaders is getting very low, but we hope to sign some fantastic domestiques towards the end!

Sponsor requirements almost met!

Today, we can announce that we are close to reaching the minimum sponsor requirements. As making our sponsors happy is important to us, we hope to achieve the required number soon, and then even go over it! But this is not only important to our sponsors, of course our fans like to see local names as well. So this means double fun!

Double fun means double the fan goodies!

So first, the 2000th visitor of our website will receive a free large pizza at your local Pizza Ullo restaurant!

Secondly, we will announce the full schedule of one of the two following riders. The schedule of the rider who reaches the most votes by monday at noon, will be announced!

Rider A is an Italian rider who loves mountains
Rider B is a Belgian talent in his mid-twenties

Votes open!

The next pair arrives!

After we had some mountain guys in the last round, we needed to take a look at the classics in the next. We are happy to have reached an agreement with Egidijus Juodvalkis and Kristof Goddaert!

Egidijus Juodvalkis is a Lithuanian talent of 23 years old. He can do cobbles, hills, flat, sprint decently. While he won't excel at any of those at his age, he will be a great domestique for this season, while developping his abilities for the next seasons.

Kristof Goddaert is capable on the flat and the cobbles, and he has a nice sprint ant the end. He probably needs to develop a bit more before he can be a team leader, but this year we're counting on him to help the team on the cobbles and as lead out man.

We still like to remind you of our contests:

First, the 2000th visitor of our website will receive a free large pizza at your local Pizza Ullo restaurant!

Secondly, we will announce the full schedule of one of the two following riders, and you get to decide which. The schedule of the rider who reaches the most votes by monday at noon, will be announced!

First schedule announced!

As promised, we are giving you the full schedule of one of our riders! You voted on Rider A, who turned out to be..

Matteo Rabottini!

Matteo is a huge talent, and we want to give him the chance to develop in the World Tour. So all of his 60 racedays will be spent there.

He will be starting his race year in Catalunya, where he can aim for a stage win or a GC position. After that, he's going to join our Ardennes squad in Fleche Wallon and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. He's skipping the Giro this year, so his next job will be the Dauphiné, again aiming for a stage win. We're facing a Tour de France full of mountains, so he will definitely be there as well. He'll be back for the Vuelta, again going for a stage win. Lastly, he asked to ride at least one race for his fans, so we gave him a monument to finish his season, Il Lombardia.

Matteo is excited about his schedule, and has a few words for our rivals after the announcement: "la tua mossa, femmine!".

2 more riders, Italian quota reached!

With the signing of 2 more riders, Lierse - Pizza Ullo is now one Belgian rider away from making the sponsor requirements, and would be the first team to do so. Please welcome our two latests riders who got us there, Simone Ponzi and Kevin De Weert!

Simone Ponzi is another talent from Italy. While not a pure sprinter, he has the ability to survive a hill. We'll be using him as lead out man for most of the season, but he might get his own chance somewhere. If he develops well enough, he can be a top sprinter in a few years!

Kevin De Weert is one of those people who came close to the top, but knows he can't make it. So he's a perfect domestique for our team. His experience and abilities will make him a very usefull helper for our GT guys. Kevin will get his own chances in smaller races though.

Next up is 3 drafts at once, and it sure was hard to make lists for all. We are confident we'll get some of the riders we wanted though.

Next contest announced!

Our planning team is proud to announce all new riders have received a partial schedule, updated with some of the CT races we want to ride. As you heard last week, 2 riders are 100% planned already. One of them was Matteo Rabottini, his schedule is above. The other one is Thomas De Gendt, he didn't get enough votes to publish it. Yet?

Completion for riders is between 60% and 100% for all riders, so it's looking good on that side. For the races, Paris-Nice has all 8 names on the list, and maybe, just maybe, we want to give our fans a bit of a preview already..

Here's the deal: Overtake Team Cymru Wales in views and make our post total 150 by thursday, and the Paris-Nice squad will be revealed. Anything more than that, well, more rewards might follow..
