Team BPost Announce 2014 Equipment
The team is pleased to unveil our new bikes for the 2014 season. For the third year running we will be on Merckx bikes to ensure that we can wear our Belgian heritage proudly. Our equipment designer fintas has done fantastic things with this equipment and we are proud to unveil both our road and TT bikes:
We wish to offer our huge thanks to fintas for the great work he has done here. We also wish to announce that our 2014 jersey will be unveiled soon, as will some new and exciting information on a new sponsorship deal our team has made!

Sponsor and Jersey Announcement!
Well in a much shorter period of time than we thought we are able to announce two very exciting pieces of news. First off we can announce that our new co-sponsor starting next year will be the tourism board of the region of Flanders! As such from next year the team name will be Team BPost - Vlaanderen. This is an exciting prospect for the team because our Belgian roots are a crucial part of our identity. With both the Belgian postal service and the Flandrian government contributing funds to our team we are sure that we can provide a Belgian team that our fans can be proud of.
To go along with this news we can also show our new jersey for next season. We are incredibly happy with the result that our jersey designer aidanvn13 has come up with.
We will proudly wear the colours of our team with BPost's logo and of course the lion of Flanders.

When I asked for it I wasn't expecting anything even close to that awesome. Aidanvn has outdone himself.

Today is a proud day for Belgian cycling because team Bpost have succeeded in grabbing one of the automatic promotion spots. The final few months have been very stressful and, while the team has always been close to the top places, it has never been guaranteed that they would grasp one of them.
The team would like to thank all of the reporters throughout the season and the head of the UCI SportingNonsense for organising such a successful year of racing. We would also like to offer our congratulations to the other promoting teams and our best wishes to those who came so very close to us.
We will have an update soon summarising our season and looking forward to next year.
Fire at Team BPost Headquarters
The fire department was today called to the Team BPost headquarters after there were reports of a large fire at the offices of the Belgian cycling team. It is understood that, having learned that the team would be promoting, the team manager, Count Arach, let off fireworks indoors.
The man was held screaming various swear-words rather loudly while also jumping around in a dance that can only be accurately called ‘primal’. Having consumed a great deal of alcohol in celebration the general manager of the team is then understood to have gone to the appropriately named ‘Fireworks Closet’ and lit as many fuses as he could see, before stumbling out of the building in a great hurry. It is not understood why the team had a closet solely for fireworks at all.
No one was injured in the fire, though there are several reports from various sources that Arach was seen trying to push Cyril Gautier, the team’s lead puncheur, into the flames. The rider has denied that this happened, though it should be noted that he had scorch marks all over his clothes and he was looking nervously over his shoulder the whole time.
Some are speculating that the fire was intentionally lit, as Arach was heard to be muttering “Now we don’t need these crappy offices anymore.” There are also reports of him pouring kerosene around parts of the office shortly before the fire began. The Australian manager has been unavailable for comment since the incident.

At the start of our season we set ourselves some rather lofty goals in the hope that we would at least come close to achieving them. Here they are and here is how we did in them:
Nat | Goal | Result | | Top 5 - ProContinental Rankings | 6th | | Win - E3 Prijs (HC) | 2nd | | Win - Dwars Door Vlaanderen | 3rd | | Win - De Brabantsje Pijl | 3rd | | Top 5 - 5 Jours de Dunkerque | 1st |
Obviously we have to start by mentioning the huge success of the 5 Jours de Dunkerque. It was without a doubt one of the biggest highlights of our season, with Vanspeybrouck in absolutely unstoppable form. It left us wishing that we had set it as one of our win goals, but either way we are very happy with the result.
Once again we failed to win a Belgian classic - it has been 2 years without the valuable home-soil classic win (though the 2012 De Panne Tour sort-of counts). Yet Vanspeybrouck still put in a great effort and managed to get on the podium in all three races, which has been enough to please our sponsors and to keep them here for another season (and with an increased budget too!).
Finally, we set ourselves the goal of hitting the top 5 in the overall standings and, while we didn't manage it we were once again very close as we came in 6th. This pretty much summarises our season in terms of goals - not a lot on target but a lot of near-misses.

That's about as close to 5/5 as you can get only to end up on 1/5.
Congrats on your otherwise very good season!

On the good side: no Gautier-fail here.. well, you could blame him for not making PCT's Top-5 though..

Well done Count, it was close at the end, but you made it. Hopefully we'll follow you into WT next year. Will be interesting what you do in transfer period as you need a good stage racer to stay at WT at least.

Congrats for promotion mate!
Now you will have very hard work to transform a bit one-dimensional team to PT depth, good luck in that.

I have a feeling HTC are going to kill it there next season but it will be interesting to see if anyone tries to fill that hole.
Thanks for the congratulations everyone!
