I think we'll see some attacks on the Ghisallo, but the decisive moves will be made on the last climb. It's too far to go solo from the top of the Ghisallo.

Hesdejal and an Astana rider just went.

Hesjedal, Tiralongo and Ulissi (?) I think. Doesn't look like Cunego.

The "curse" is just not working hard in the winter.
Gilbert told the press he planned on working very hard this winter.
What just happened isn't a curse, it's bad luck. |

Lame riding. I expected at least a bit more selection by now.

They're talking about the curse of the rainbow jersey. Win the rainbow jersey and you have a really bad year.
It's not real. It's just a combination of when a guy wins the world championship it's usually in his career year when he's at his peak just before he starts to decline, along with the fact that the lots of press obligations that come with the jersey mean you have little time or will to train
EDIT; Even Cancellara succumbed to not training after his first worlds

Agreed. I think that the rain ruined it though. No one at the front was willing to risk anything on the descent, so the trailing groups caught up.
Again though, I think this is going to explode on the Ghisallo. I like how Cunego looks, by the way.
Oh, and fuck Di Luca. Like, fuck him.

Dehaenes doesn't help though...

Wait, really? I just got back from grabbing a quick breakfast. Have they been on it that long? |

I thought they were still 5-6km out at that point, and were trying to get up the road before the climb started.
Why was I thinking it started with 45-50km left?
EDIT: Anyway, I blame not being able to understand the commentators. Now the English stream is up, so that won't be an issue.

I guess it depends whether you count the whole climb or just the steep bit a t the end, which they haven't started yet.
