Sky's Purchase of Marcel Kittel looks like they intend to dominate the sprints in all three Grand Tours.

Tom Wilson (1st Jan 2013): Today was the first day I got to ride with the rest of the team. Abit embarassed as Daniel Wilcox and I both got dropped on the flat, or as he put it, started our team time trial practice early.
As White Rose are looking to be a World Tour team next year, we have also started the internal drug testing. It was like being back at school, being told how to fill out our whereabouts, being scared witless by the WADA official telling us what could happen if we cheat and even more by Gaffeff explaining what the team would do. He advised they fire us, demand the return of any wages covered by the period and any bonus we had earned. If it affected our application to the World tour we would also be sued for any damage to the brand. So it'll only be Caffeine and Sugar for me.

Plan for 2013. Yorkshire Radio will cover extended highlights of the 15 highest profile races that White Rose undertake [The ones our sponsors say are important] and if invited any of the World Tour races. Others will be covered by the Yorkshire Post.

Well as it's my universe, lets make it interesting.
WADA announcement 1st July 2012 to take effect from 1st January 2013.
WADA believe all teams at the World Tour level are responsible for the elligability of their riders to take place in races.
The following changes will be made to the rules about eligibilty:
"In addition, a rider who has failed a drug test will be considered inelligable for a race if he/she has failed a drug test."
To remind teams have the current rules: "Any team who have an inelligible member in a race will lose any Superprestige, continental or World Tour points won by the team in total not only the member found to be inellegible".
p.s. this is based on the rule in football that West Ham fell foul of (over Carlos Tevez's registration), although I believe they still haven't paid Sheffield United all the money they owe them.

BBC Yorkshire, 22nd Jan 2013.
Brian: Welcome to our first coverage of the season. The Tour de San Luis, Plusnet-Yorkshire Tea have brought a strong squad of Sanchez, Swift, Kennaugh, Chavez, Clancy and Day.
Robert: They will be looking to at least win a stage with Swift, Sanchez could go for the overall or stick to trying to win a stage. Plusnet-Yorkshire tea will be hoping Swift takes a stage win early so they can focus on the GC.
Brian: With only 6 men in the squad it will be tough to go for both, but they have brought a very strong squad. Will be interesting to see how they do, tune in tomorrow for coverage of the first stage.

BC Yorkshire, Fraga to Juana Koslay. Tour de San Luis, 24th January 2013.

Robert: Looks like it’ll be a sprint stage today. Tyler Farrer and Ben Swift will be looking to take the stage after their over tactical display yesterday.
Brian: With 20km to go, Garmin are keeping the peleton together with help from Yorkshire tea, you get thirsty everytime you say that, Rob?
Robert: Yes, listeners we could really do with a cup of tea here. We’re at the finish line and no tea in sight. The coffee is awful too.
Brian: We’d better not get too much into David Duffield mode, but it looks like all the excitement will be at the end...
Brian: With 3 km to go, Ben Swift is sat behind Farrer same as yesterday but this time Farrer has a better lead out. Duque of Cofidis goes, Farrer slips from behind his lead out man.
Robert: Doesn’t look like Swift has the pace today, Farrer will take this easily, even having time to do the full sponsor reveal. Swift will be disappointed with that, no excuses today he was just out sprinted.
Brian: Yeah, not the best form today, but it’s still early in the season. Tomorrows stage will be one for the Puncheur so Luis Leon Sanchez is likely to lead the charge.

If you're feeling protective of him and feel I'm being too harsh, I'm obviously doing a good job of writing like the British press Smile

BBC Yorkshire, 25th Jan 2013.
Brian: Welcome to stage 3, the sprinters will not be contesting the win today. With a steep ramp with 6 km to go, it'll be one for the Puncheurs today.
Robert: Yorkshire Tea will be looking to get Sanchez onto the front, however their best news for the day will still probably be that Ben Swift has signed a new 3 year deal.
Brian: A big rider to keep for the Yorkshire team. They can use this to build and if rumours of the new big sponsor are true we could be seeing major changes in the team.
Robert: Anyway, back to todays stage. A breakaway of Sijmens (COF), Bertazzo (AND) and Berthan(BSC) have been away almost the whole distance but with 20km to go and a lead of only 30 seconds, they are being strung along here.
Brain: Yes, they'll be left there until just before the ramp starts for riders like Sanchez to jump up to.
Robert: Looks like Radioshack heard you and are now absolutley drilling the pace, the great Fabian Cancellera is no mean climber, would be quite capable of winner and with the time trial tomorrow could be well place.
Brian: The break is caught at the 10km point but Radioshack-Nissan are keeping the pace so high, noone can break away.
Robert: Riders are dropping off the back of this murderous pace. With no breakaway it looks like it will be an uphill sprint.
Brian: This climb ramps up to 15% at points, although not as tough as the climb in merlot, it will be the first selection for the GC.
Robert: The sprint is launched and Chris Horner takes the win, Sanchez just doesn't have the legs and has to settle for second, Young Madrozo of Movistar finishes third. Despite his team doing all the work Cancellara finishes 6th, but will be formidable in the TT tomorrow.
Brian: Yorkshire Tea have now had a fourth, a third now and a second. No way he can win tomorrow is there.
Robert: Betting against Cancellera can get expensive so no, but it will be interesting how much damage he puts into Horner and Sanchez. Seeyou all tomorrow.

The White rose will return. The yorkshire team will return for the 2013 season. [Sorry all, I had trouble with the DB (this time I'll mod it into the start db, not the save game) and a smoking computer Smile ]. I plan on bringing the team back with the 2013 roster. And start it when the new 2013 db comes out. For the bit of the 2013 season above, just imagine it was a dream.
