Wiles will try to rule the early cobbles, but racedays problems are concerning. |

The last stage in Oman. Is this one for D'Hout or Farrar scores one (or looking at the crazy results level here, basically anybody has a chance)?
So, today's break formed, but you can see that SpiderTech didn't let them too far.
We wanted to make sure that the break won't stay away, as D'Hout was feeling quite good.
We formed our train as early as we could and dominated the pacemaking in the peleton. Tommeke and Newbould carried the pace till around 4.5km, where Gömböcz took over.
Gömböcz starts to sprint with Clemson on his wheel, but where is D'Hout? He is stuck behind with the other sprinters! So we must switch to Plan "B", and do it for Clemson!
But wait, D'Hout is there again with Farrar, just as Clemson starts to go! Can John or James win it?
Yes, Clemson holds his lead until the finish line and wins stage 6! He's teammate goes 2nd, with Farrar being 3rd. What a great victory for Clemson! After a little math, it comes out that he even wins the GC with the bonus seconds! What a dramatic end to this race!
1 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | 3h40'31 | 2 | James D'Hout | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 3 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 4 | André Schulze | Team NetApp | s.t. | 5 | Martijn Maaskant | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 6 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 7 | Zakkari Dempster | Endura Racing | s.t. | 8 | Hilton Clarke | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 9 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 10 | Juan José Haedo | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | s.t. |
Wohoooo!!! Clemson takes the GC on bonus seconds! Who thought that after the Green Mountain?
1 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | 21h32'38 | 2 | Johan Vansummeren | Team Garmin - Sharp | + 6 | 3 | Fabian Cancellara | RadioShack - Nissan | + 25 | 4 | Julien El Fares | Team Type 1 - Sanofi | + 47 | 5 | Andriy Grivko | Astana Pro Team | + 1'06 | 6 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 1'27 | 7 | Filippo Pozzato | Farnese Vini - Selle Italia | + 1'35 | 8 | Alex O'Beyne | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 1'42 | 9 | Rory Sutherland | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'44 | 10 | Stefan Schumacher | Christina Watches - Onfone | + 1'46 |
D'Hout claimed the points jersey with a nice performance.
1 | James D'Hout | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 77 | 2 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 71 | 3 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin - Sharp | | 63 | 4 | Jackson Newbould | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 52 | 5 | Martijn Maaskant | Team Garmin - Sharp | | 51 |
A little bit sad Vansummeren with his consolation prize.
1 | Johan Vansummeren | Team Garmin - Sharp | | 20 | 2 | Julien El Fares | Team Type 1 - Sanofi | | 17 | 3 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | | 14 | 4 | Fabian Cancellara | RadioShack - Nissan | | 10 | 5 | Andriy Grivko | Astana Pro Team | | 9 |
Clemson also took the white jersey.
John Clemson - 1 stage win in a mass sprint!
Máté Gömböcz - 1 great lead out
Tommeke van de Kuijt - 1 sensational leadout
After Tour rider's points
John Clemson - 2 two jerseys, 2 points
James D'Hout - 1 nice points jersey
Alex O'Beyne - a shiny 8th for the young domestique! |

So, I'll head to Ireland for 2 weeks on Saturday, so this story will be put on hold, and then we'll see how it continues. (I'll have PCM2012 this evening) Be prepared either to continue this one, or start a new one on PCM2012. I won't say it's dead, it might be continued.
Spoiler The sprint bug in PCM2010 really annoys me.
