Who's in the break?
I've seen: Castroviejo, Duggan, Kristoff, Pinotti, Beppu, Westra, Roelandts, O'Grady and the russian who looks like Menchov.

Kristoff the Norwegian. There's a Korean rider who's the odd one out. If this group stays together I'm tipping Kristoff.
Anybody knows what's happened to that French Track Cyclist Dude? Bourgain or something? Is he riding?

Abandoned after 1km or so.
Why is Kiryienka pulling in the peloton? Stop Vasil, damn it.

There go our chances in a sprint.
The keirin rule is a farce and led to this. |

Looking like some of the weaker riders are nearly getting dropped by Great Britian's chasing... not even chasing, just controlling.

I guess Hutarovich is in great shape. |

What an earth is the justification for the 'keirin rule'? Some of the track changes are hard to understand.
I guess most keirin riders will ride the sprint and/or the team sprint if their riders are good enough.
No way of stopping Bourgain riding for France in the road I suppose considering plenty of trackies could rider the road disciplines.

More likely Kiryienka received an unexpected payment from the UK or Germany.

I suppose with Belerus they are thinking that there are three medals on offer. If it came down to a sprint Hutarovich certainly has the capabilities of snatching a medal.
The crowds are amazing, looking forward to seeing box hill, it looked insane earlier when they had it on the news.

Here in Germany, no one shows the race..
ZDF shows an interview at the moment with the rowing Bundestrainer (they just showed the start of the cycling race and then rowing) and Eurosport shows from the start swimming
Isn't it a unwritten rule in cycling that at the olympics everyone rides for their national teams instead making up "Teams" like Lotto in the race?

ZDF showed it earlier in the morning. They will surely go back later.
German Eurosport starts at 15:30 or so for the last 2 hours.
Also there is a ZDF live stream for the whole race: https://www.zdf.de...el-Strasse |

Supposedly you ride for the colours that are on your back, but that's very theoretical.
Cycling is their job, so the question for the riders quickly becomes : "who pays me ?" When you know what each of them thinks about it, their apparently strange behaviours suddenly, but unfortunately, make sense. |
