Didn't expect too much from here, but at least we should try to get in the breakaways. Hopefully Chavanel will try to go in breakaways now that he has lost plenty of time.

A lame performance from Cunego. His hill stat seemed to mean very little - though obviously came in to play for Trofimov.

Not happy that Van Stayen went in the break. Keizer even attacking in the hills, but still managed to lose quite a bit of time. Still, with 71 hills, i ain't complaining.

Trofimov clearly in super shape!

And great ride by Popovych as well. Didn't expect him to do that well.

Only loosing 8 seconds to Cunego is good, I don't like how strong Popovych was though.

Vanderbiest, it's your time to do something decent since you did cost us any chance at a decent result and will have to cover the lost points all by yourself. No pressure though.

Whilst the TT was a bit disappointing, this stage was as good as it gets. Could not hope for better. A bit surprised that Cunego did not respond more.

Now hoping to keep the jersey over the Puy the Dome stage although that will be very difficult.

One hilly stage to go. Not the best perfomance from Henao here, but on the other side, nice effort by Kreuziger. Smile

Bad positioning from Pluchkin here. A pity to lose his GC place to Madrazo. He's stronger in the mountains, but should have done better here. Still only 16 seconds off the first contender Madrazo.

If Cohnen doesn't want to help Dekker, he might as well go for the polka dots. As it is now, his presence in the breakaways is just a waste of energy.

shame to lose the jersey i was hoping Phinney could hold on today, but Trofimov is nearly unstoppable on these stages.

My thoughts on Steurs exactly. I think Fothen would be better off having him close, and if he is to attack, the least he can do is try to get something from it.

Bad positioning once again from Van Stayen, he wasn't even in one of the sprint trains ...

If you need someone to take him off your hands next season...

While Van Stayen hasn't been doing all to well in the sprints these seasons, i am still pretty content of him of what he did in the Vuelta. Main problem is, he doesn't have a real lead-out. It seems i overestimated Abakoumov's secondary stats.

Due to me having to rebuilt my whole team, i didn't really have any budget to spare on a good lead-out. And due to my own stupidity of not sending Steegmans here Pfft (i thought i did untill i saw this thread, but then remembered i send him to some races as the main sprinter, taking that gamble. We'll see how that works out after TONE.).

All by all, he is one of the best sprinters taking all his stats into account. Just venting my frustrations that he has not positioned himself like he did in La Vuelta.

Has Steurs crashed? He shouldnt be last on a stage like this surely...

EDIT:

And should Lavoine pose a threat on any stage, this should have been it. Oh well, can only hope he will pull out fairly quick so Holloway can be my main sprinter.

A Standout Sprint for 7th < A rubbish sprint for 6th

But third in the points category is quite cool. And stage 6 should suit him.
