UCI World Tour - Individual
Continental Tour - Individual
Overall Victories - Individual
(We are in great shape in the WorldTour here with at least 1 rider in the Top 5 of each ranking. We should look for some good results in March in the Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-Sanremo.) |

One of the biggest months for our team here with plenty of WorldTour points on offer here. The Giro del Friuli, Strade Bianche and Vuelta de Murcia will be our warm-up events for the Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico, then we are hoping that Casar, Fedrigo or Geslin have an excellent start to the month and come onto top form for the big one, the Milan-Sanremo. We then look to the Volta a Catalunya and finish off the month with the 3 cobbled classics and we hope to see Guesdon in top form there. |

@ Batista: Thanks, Carrara managed to sneak away on the final climb as everybody was watching his teammate Poels. If we had a few more metres Casar and Chavanel would have caught him .
@ sutty68: He is looking good for Paris-Nice and hopefully will keep that form into Milan-Sanremo. |

The 2012 race of Paris-Nice will be the 70th edition of the 'Race to the Sun'. This year's edition will be a tough race and will offer more chances to the climbers to win, but with 2 timetrials it will be the climbers with a good TT stat that will take home the yellow here. Last year's winner, Tony Martin, will not take part here due to a broken rib he sustained earlier in the year, so we will have a new champion.

An amazing startlist here with so many contenders for the overall. But people like Schleck, Basso, Velits and Rogers will not compete for the overall due to the fact that they have hardly raced at all this year and will not have the form to stay with the favourites. The race will be between Vinokourov, Menchov, Valverde, Uran and Anton and it will come down to the crucial last timetrial to decide who wins here. |

We have a strong team here which can contest the overall and a Top 10. We have Casar who comes into this race with good form and he is backed up by Roy and Vichot who are both capable of also getting a good result should something happen to Casar. Hutarovich and Rollin will form the duo who contest the sprints but against Cavendish this could prove to be hard. The other riders are here to build form ahead of the cobbled classics at the end of the month. |

@ sutty68: I have just played the first few stages and it is going to be a very interesting race .
Stage 1 - Dampierre-en-Yvelines to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse
Relatively straightforward prologue to start us off here, a 9.4km run. It has a climb in the first kilometre which could be where time is won and lost.
Favourites: Cancellara (RadioShack), Boasson Hagen (Sky), Boom (Rabobank)
It was Visconti (Movistar) with the first big time of the day. He blitzed round in a time of 12'00.
His time stood for a good few riders before the Norwegian TimeTrial Champion, Boasson Hagen, smashed the leading time with a 11'43.
One of the pre-stage favourites, Boom, had a go but could not match the blistering time set by EBH and came 15 secs down. 11'58.
Cancellara was a late starter and you could bet on Spartacus beating EBH's time. But no! Amazingly he came in 9 secs down on the Norwegian. 11'52.
It got down to the final few riders and most of the GC contenders/leaders did not challenge the Top 5 times and had to settle with being 10-20 secs back. Casar was the last FDJ man down the ramp and with 88 Fitness and a +5 on the day we hoped for a great TT. He didn't disappoint, coming 2nd on the day with a time only 7 secs down. What a ride! 11'50.
1 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | 11'43 | 2 | Sandy Casar | FDJ - BigMat | + 7 | 3 | Fabian Cancellara | RadioShack - Nissan | + 9 | 4 | Beñat Intxausti | Movistar Team | + 12 | 5 | Jonathan Castroviejo | Movistar Team | + 13 | 6 | David Millar | Garmin - Barracuda | + 14 | 7 | Lars Boom | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 15 | 8 | Alexandre Vinokourov | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 9 | Stephen Cummings | BMC Racing Team | + 16 | 10 | Giovanni Visconti | Movistar Team | + 17 |

Stage 2 - Mantes-la-Jolie to Orléans
A straightforward stage here which should end in a mass sprint and we should see one of the sprinters win here as there are limited oppurtunities for a win here for the sprinters.
Favourites: Cavendish (Sky), Feillu (Vacansoleil), Bennati (RadioShack)
A 14-man break went up the road today containing Bak (Lotto) and Dean (GreenEDGE). They managed to get a maximum 4 minutes and were caught in the last 2km, blocking several sprinters including Hutarovich and Bennati. But it was the World Champion, Cavendish, with the win. Guardini (Farnese Vini) 2nd and Feillu was 3rd.

@ sutty68 & sam1196: Thank you The funny thing is that I was up by a few seconds on the 2nd time check and maybe if I had put him on a slightly lower effort at the start going up the climb, I might have been able to win as Casar tired in the last 2km . |

Stage 3 - Vierzon to Lac de Vassivière
The first real test for the GC contenders here with an uphill finish which should see some gaps form in the peloton.
Favourites: Vinokourov (Astana), Valverde (Movistar), Uran (Sky)
There was a 10-man break today which contained Vigano (Lampre). They were allowed a maximum of 7 mins before the peloton began to increase the pace and reel them in.
Sky unfortunately did not want to chase in the closing stages so the gap grew again as no-one wanted to do Sky's work. The lack of pace made Langeveld (GreenEDGE) and Martens (Rabobank) attack with 13km left. The break had a huge 4 minute advantage at this point and the winner of the stage would probably take yellow.
It was Vandewalle (Quickstep) with the win and yellow, closely followed by Adriato (Farnese Vini) in 2nd with Ravard (AG2R) in 3rd.
Visconti (Movistar) leads the peloton over the line.

It's inevitable that break succeeds at Paris Nice usually, but you're doing great so far with Casar. Keep this up
