Glad when the Tirreno start. when the main protagonists of PN are Leipheimer, Wiggins, Van Garderen and Valverde, it's time for me to watch something else

Am looking forward to double dosing on the live feeds from Wednesday, just hoping the run ins don't clash. |

Waiting for highlights, but looked very interesting. Wiggins out sprinting Valverde has to be the highlight With Sky's team strength here I think the race will be decided in the final TT. This stage surprised, so let's hope we'll get more excitement in following days.

Tomorrow's finale should be exciting for sure. The uphill finish looks perfectly suited for Valverde.
Also sprinters like Boonen, Rojas and Degenkolb might finish high up again.

This was a weird intermediate. Wiggins didn`t really out sprinted Valverde. Nobody really sprinted and so Wiggins was 1st ahead of the others.

The sprinters need a super form if they want to finish high tomorrow. Looks to hard imo. Rojas could prove me wrong but I doubt we will see Boonen or Degenkolb up there.
And this are just the last 5km. The climb is 8km long.

In an interview Boonen said they were expecting a split at Roundabout, but he was forced to take the long side, and had to go past 2-3 groups to get to the lead group. He did this togheter with Leipheimer, so they were bot behind at first.
Don't know if this was shown though, as i couldn't watch .

To me it looked like Valverde thought "they know they can't beat so they won't even bother", then didn't really push for it, and Wiggo came to get the sprint.
I know this is probably extremely far from true, but it's funnier to think it was this way.

When the TV coverage started both were in the first group. I dunno if there's any way to see that, but I'd really like to if that happened that way. Awesome stuff.

If it's a big group at the bottom it's got to be Valverde.

Didn't know the final climb was that hard or long. Valverde will be huge favourite.

I doesn't seem that hard, not at least for the likes of Boonen, Degenkolb or Rojas. A 50m gain in the last 1.5 km would mean 1500m @3.3%, definitely not insurmountable for the stronger sprinters.

Degenkolb and Rojas more likely than Boonen imo, with Rojas more likely than Degenkolb - but Rojas does have Valverde as a teammate

Mende will be the key stage for Sky. Really suits Valverde, doesnt really suit Wiggins. Wiggo could have done with the time advantage he might have gotten from a dry TT.

Some really big names with huge time loss today.
Especially surprised by Taaramae and Brajkovic.
Will be interesting to see if these all will go into breaks or if the form just isn`t there yet.

Basso and Porte both crashed, and Andy performs as expected in a non-July race. Dunno about the rest

Taaramäe has been ill recently, although he did a good prologue yesterday, so I guess he just missed the split and couldn't make it back to the front. Le Mével crashed hard too, and did the last 45 km riding alone in the wind. That surely hurts.

Andy Schleck obviously abandons before todays stage due to illness.
He won`t care as it was just a shit race. |

Taaramäe wrote on his blog that he actually did make the split and ended up in the first group and was happy over it , but couldn't hang after a few kilometres and got dropped from there and eventually from the other groups aswell. He plans to hunt for stages now. |
