@xXMajesticoXxx - Thank you Yea Boonen is defintely a rider that I hope will star in our team and win a lot of races
Tour Down Under - Stage 6
Adelaide City Council Street Circuit
Stage 6 is the final stage of this year's Tour Down Under. At 90km, it's the shortest stage in the race. It's a fast paced critreium around Adelaide, the stage isn't too demanind, it has a small hill at each lap, but it shouldn't cause any problems to riders. The winner will be most ilekely a pure spirnter. Someone like Cavendish, or Petacchi who had bad luck so far might want to get revenge.
Favourites :
**** Farrar Cavendish, Petacchi
** Goss, Swift, Bos, Freire
* Ciolek, Vicisio, Greipel, Van Avermaet, Haedo
Team Objective
The plan is to finish with safely in the peleton and try to get nice place at the end with Ciolek. Top 5 would be a nice way to end the race. The important point in this race is the intermedaiete sprint, wchcihc we have to play with right tacts to win. If we win it, Points Jersey and 3rd in GC should be considered safe. Will be hell of finale me thinks
Top 5
Win 1st Intermediate sprint

Tour Down Under - Stage 6
Adelaide City Council Street Circuit
The Early escapes duo aren’t threatening, but Omega Pharma puts the hammer down , we can’t allow anyone escaping. Catching them instantly. Ciolek lead out by Terpstra wins the 1st intemedate sprint points ahead of Belletti and Casper.
With 30km to go Sky and Garmin are pulling the pack at furious pace, trying to cause splits in the peleton.
And the moment ! Massive crash at the front of the peleton ! There’s group of 20 that escaped the crash with almost all of the big names there. Truly bad news for us with 6 riders in that crash involved ! Chances in our Team Competition are gone, but was Ciolek involved too ?
I think we can breathe, Ciolek somehow avoided the crash, but got blocked and is now almost out of his energy at the back with Sky putting furious pace at the front
There’s another crash in the chasing peleton ! What a day.
2.5km to go and Swift is leading Cavnedish’s out. Petacchi in perfect position behind Cavendish. Ciolek’s with massive effort clinches on Goss wheel. We won’t be winning today, but I am thankful we are in the leading group.
Cavendish looked the favorite, but it’s Italian with massive acceleration that looks to destroy the competition and finally get his very well deserved win at Tour Down Under!
Petacchi wins with ease. Ciolek can only manage 9th, but it could have been so much worse today. Goss and Cavendish round out the podium today.

Team’s Reaction
Being at the end of the Tour Down Under I think it has been a successful tour for us. We got two great podiums and a 4th place in GC. If not the crash we might have won it, but we are lucky that least Ciolek stayed on his wheel and got that 4th for us.
The success is optimized by Ciolek’s securing Points Jersey, which we very proud about. And Pauwels valiant efforts throughout the race earning him the King of Mountains jersey.
We are disappointed that we lost the lead in Team Classification, but there was nothing to be done here with the crash happening. Oveall we are very happy with the result and it’s been brilliant start to the season for the team.
Hope our fans enjoyed the reports and wrap up. Next race is the Giro della Calabria.

Ciolek may be very happy!

4th in GC, points jersey and KoM jersey. That's a great result.

I think you managed to achieve the highest reachable thing in this TdU with Ciolek's possibilities and you've pushed Pauwels to his limits too, good work and the presentation of the stages are totally awesome!
RIP Wouter Weylandt, siempre con noi

You lost third place, but 4th and KoM are still great results, no doubt about it. |

Giro della Calabria
It's our first race in Europe and beginning our main campaign. The Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria is a road bicycle race held annually in Italy. In 2009, the Giro was a single-day race, and in 2010, it was a stage race spanning four days. In 2011, it was again a three-day race.
There are 5 WT teams in the race. Lampre and Liquigas, are joined by Astana, Katusha and Omega Pharma. the winner is most likely to come out of these teams.

Omega Pharma QuickStep - Giro della Calbria Team
We bring a lot of in-depth riders here. All of them are trying to get into good shape for races later in month and two cobbled classics. Chavanel will be our clear leader, with Pineau and Cataldo as his luxry domestiques.
Steegmans is here to get into better shape, but we might try to go for the win on last stage with him. Chavanel form is at 55 points going into the race, 2nd highest form from the riders we have here.

GC Favourites
*** Bosisio, Chavanel, Bole
** Niemiec, Brajkovic, Bertagnolli
* Pineau, Szmyd, Sella, Trofimov
It's not the highest prestige starlist, but one that should create lots of exciting racing. Bosisio is listed as number 1 by organizers, so must have a decent form going into the race. Chavanel is our leader and we won't swap that. Bole should be dangerous rider, able to pick up time bonus on sprints. Rider to watch is also Bertagnolli, nationality bonus should kick in.
Team Objective
The plan is to finish with the elite at the end. Looking at Ciolek's form, 60 points I don't think it's good enough to get into podium or Top 10, as there are clearly riders with better form. We'll try, but the main goal is to finish with the peleton or the elite attackers.
Stage Win
Top 3 in GC

Nice preview of Calabria, good luck! Hard race to win, because of the constant breakaways succeding. |
