Portugal actually had a lot of attractive offensive movements today, we just defended horribly, and conceded 3 goals from direct mistakes from our back men. We're becoming to look like the dutch, the only difference is they have a goalscoring machine and we have 2 guys for strikers who can't seem to know where the goal is , and 1 who hasn't scored a goal for us ever.
In other words, we have the same problem of no good strikers we've had since Gomes was european golden boot in the 80s (except for the 90s when we had two goalscoring machines that never left the bench) , plus we have the extra problem that our center backs that are usually the best in the world, now suck.

I couldn't agree more on your centre back's argument. Imo it's Porto's fault. Almost all of those world class defenders were brought to the national team because of Porto, but lately they've stopped producing such talents and weirdly opted for far worse foreign players, who inclusively have lowered the team's standards.
Please tell me you're not comparing Nani to a guy who was 2nd in the European Golden Ball voting at 21 years old
If the injuries hadn't killed him, Futre could've been the best portuguese player ever.
Anyway, ignore me. I'm just dreaming of him doing one of those "dribble past 5 players, then shoot at goal" plays he did every two games or so.

And on a side note: ESPN a few days ago asked Jürgen Klinsmann,
USA National team head coach, who he though was going to win EURO 2012.
He said Brazil

The only guy I was comparing Nani with was Ronaldo. Look all I was saying is that we're pretty lucky to have him as our 2nd best winger. I know we've always had great wingers, but having a better duo than these two, given the dimension of our football, is really really ambitious, even for a dream.
But hey Futre is from another league, that guy is the definition of awesome, don't you watch his show?

Big article in todays newspaper: A lot of people doubt that Spain can do it again. Most believe it'll be Germany or The Netherlands. I must say I agree, I think it'll be Germany this year.

Ukraine's manager says an act of "sabotage" might have caused the outbreak of food poisoning affecting 10 members of his Euro 2012 squad.
"It happened in Germany, but it is impossible to establish the causes - all ate different food," Oleg Blokhin told Ukraine television.
Most affected is Tymoschuk it seems who is on under Intravenous therapy.
Sorry, we where a bit afraid to meet them in the first match...
They didn't accuse Sweden though btw Dunno about sabotage, but something strange had to happend there. Surprised that it was in Germany too
But, they played their friendly next day after the bug struck ( it was close to getting cancelled ) and lost 3 - 0 to Turkey. Dunno what suqad they played that match in.

A bit like PDM during TDF 1991 (or 1992, I have a doubt).
