I believe UCI made an important step here. Right or wrong that's very arguable of course, but at least they were wise enough to listen to the teams' concerns, which imo is something remarkable given their label of intolerant shmucks.

I never did. I barely react here every day. Let stand write about Leotard every day.
Unless you can somehow prove me wrong, which I seriously doubt you can. Show me the 'every page' where I made a comment then.
I hate liars. Just a small warning. |

I'll remember them as the team that rides hard after opponents in the GC get a flat tire or mechanical. And then proudly put on their website how they did it.
Disgusting piece of shit team without a morale.
Hey Ruben, can't you stop writing such useless comments about leopard trek. I didn't read one comment in which you didn't affront them. I don't mind when you write anything about rabobank and the other "good" teams It's ok when you don't like them but you don't have to comment every post that includes a word about Leopard Trek!!!

I can really not see why all the hate about Leopard, I mean, in cycling it's all about tactic and after Andy lost the Tour due to a mechanical that Contador used to his advantage he has become aware of that. That every second counts and that every opportunity to get an advantage needs to be taken. I can't say I agree with everything Leopard Trek does, but they never really made an advantage of a rivals unluckiness. (Except maybe Contador.) What they do is fair and legal, but not true sportsmanship. But, keep in mind that the only favorite that tried something before the last 5 kilometres was the younger of the Schleck brothers. You can hate all you want, but you can't see past the fact that Leopard made this years Tour exiting. This year Evans was the strongest, next year I think Andy will take it. |

1. Andy knows that it's super unfair that somebody gets an adventage on something like that. And theirfor shouldent allow his team to go to the front everytime something like that happens.
2. If Contador rides next year, he will win.

I can remember the Mollema unlucky flat tire in the Tour de Suisse this year, when Leopard immediately accelerated to avoid him coming back. With success.
That doesn`t mean that I hate or like Leopard, it`s just an example that they have done things like this. I like some riders and I dislike some of their riders, so nothing team related.
But I don`t like the merger of both teams. How can Bruyneel secure all of them to stay under their contract if he has ~40 riders then. Also the mechanics and all the people in the background can`t be secured to get a job when they have twice as much people as they need.
And worst thing the bad communication. How can you agree to merge with just 2-3 people knowing it. Sportive directors like Schmidt or Andersen as also the riders didn`t even knew about it. All they heard was from the media.
This is just a bad way to do it. |

I agree, but it's all very typical of Bruyneel.
Also, another thought: If you people thought the Schleck brothers rarely attacked and were somewhat boring before.....wait until they're being managed by Bruyneel. They will take boring to a new level.

Haha, good one. I really can't remember a moment when they ride after their opponenents. When exactly did they?
I'm pretty sure, they put a high pace on, as soon as Mollema flatted or crashed in the Suisse/Dauphine (mix the two up all the time), which is quite hypocritical of them, considering what happend 11 months before that. (This was back in June, mind you.)

I'm really not taking sides but rather I'm just curious and would like to know deeper your opinions:
1) I missed a few stages of the Tour de France and didn't follow Tour de Suisse, so I'm reading your commentary about Leopard and not knowing what it it about. When did they accelerated when a favorite had a flat tire? Was it just on TdS alone or anywhere else too?
2) Why do you favor no radio transmissions? Is it to enhance the spectacle or am I missing something?
3) What's the problem with Contador? Is it the doping thing, personal opinion or something else I'm not following?
Cheers |

2) Safety ? That's a wrong reason. Open your eyes and your ears, and that's it. Study the road book too.
Let the racing to the riders, not to the D.S., is the real argument here. But cyclists are generally not smart, and they don't have T.V. on the bike. So, D.S. like to have everything under control, and play a giant Cycling Manager game.
Sometimes rider think/know they should attack, but don't do it as "it wasn't in the plan (to attack today)". How dull and ridiculous...
3) Yes, the positive thing. Plus being a Manolo Saiz rider, then a Bruyneel one, then a Riis one. The whole doping thing actually... Spanish authorities never really tried to know who that A.C. guy was in the Puerto Affair, just like they wouldn't connect the dots between ValvPiti and Valverde. |

F. Schleck moved up from 4th to 3rd overall after that maneuver.
Cyclingnews wrote:
Up front, Paolini and Marycz were still ploughing their lonely furrow, but they must have known the game was up when an armada of Leopard Trek riders began to lead the chase, for Fränk Schleck’s teammates had received word that Mollema had been left behind with a puncture and was attempting to chase back on alone. Andy Schleck, Jens Voigt, Linus Gerdemann and Maxime Monfort each took lengthy turns to ensure the young Dutchman would drop two places overall before the day’s end. |

I'm a bit tired of telling the same thing over and over again, but in the report of the Guardia Civil appeared the FULL name of Contador, so it's not that the Spanish authorities didn't want to know who that AC was, but rather he was shamefully protected. I know you know this, but I want to make it clear because some people still believe Contador wasn't involved in the OP and even say AC "could be whoever".

Remember what they did with Riis and Saxo last year? Karma.
