My arguments come from the official defence of FLoyd Landis. His sources are official documnts from the LNDD, WADA and USADA. I can't find Floyd's 'Wiki' defence because of the afore mentioned corruption in the World of Anti-Doping. My passion in my above post stems from 1. Landis being my hero 2. Landis being innocent 3. people's sheer stupidity and arrogance.

To me Landis defence sound dreadfully like some of the other more fanciful defenses I've heard like the evil twin, toothpaste and so forth.
To be honest this comes down to who you believe. The rider, or the authorities. I happens to have very little faith in bicycleriders - as a group they range right below politicians in the credibilty race!
erm, and as you say: your 1. and 2. kind of leads to number 3 smacking you in your own face :-)

Not yet..Contador will like it..But I belive Rabo is smart enough and wont to that. You as Rabo fan should also hope same thing.
If Astana signs Bruyneel..this is a chanches that Bruyneel like's to see also Contador in the same squad..at least he give as hint for that.
If Astana signs Bruyneel, there is also, according to well informed local newspaper, 95% possibility of Jani Brajkovic signing with Astana. |

Then they already have a Grand Tour winner and a future podium man (not for the Tour, maybe, but...).
I see Conta - Janez as the perfect Lance - Roberto duo, as in: "help me in the tour and you'll be captain for the Vuelta". As Kash and Vino would've done it too. |

So you are denying that Landis used unnatural testosterone? Landis defense has been quite funny actually.
First he said drinking made him produce that extra-testosterone (that's ridiculous from a scientifical point of view), which implied the tests were right, but he got bad luck.
Then it appeared that his testosterone level was normal, it was simply his epistestosterone level that got badly reduced and screw his T/E ratio (a normal man has a 1:1 ratio, you're not positive under 4:1, it was 6:1 till 2 years ago, and still is in the USA I reckon ?).
Then there were tests on the testosterone of his urine, and it appeared to be exogen. It took weeks to Landis to understand and admit that exogen meant that it wasn't naturally produced. His defense explaining his body naturally produced exogen testosterone gave me good laughs though.
Now he's going along either explaining he's the victim of a conspiracy of a corrupted people (Calimero, hello, life's so unfair), denies the tests are reliable, says it was forbidden to test his former samples again (might be, but they were positive with exogen testosterone too).
Actually he just looks like a blatant liar losing ground and using the most pathetic excuses at the moment. Had he got some pride he'd confess his mistake and defend a clean cycling, like Millar (no matter if the later is sincere or not). But it seems more important to those American riders to preserve their image of victims, as they still find people to believe them (unfortunately) no matter how ridiculous their defense is. |

Sorry if it's dobule post
Australia may get a much deserved confirmation of its status as a world cycling power by hosting the UCI World Road Championships in 2010, according to the Melbourne Herald Sun. The Australians have been dominating track events on the world stage for years - Melbourne hosted the UCI World Track Championships in 2004 - but the Tour de France podium finish of Cadel Evans has given the country's road program an even higher status.
The 2010 World Championships bid is being headed up by the Victorian State Government's major events unit, and a final decision will be made when the UCI meets at this year's event in Stuttgart at the end of September. The Worlds were last held outside of Europe in 2003 when they took place in Hamilton, Canada.
According to the Herald Sun, Bahrain is Melbourne's only competitor, and its bid is under question as the promoter is facing legal problems.
Potential courses include the Geelong circuit which makes up the annual women's World Cup, but the Botanic Gardens area, site of the Commonwealth Games road race in 2006, has been deemed too easy for the Worlds.

Didn't seen anything about this so.....
Officials from the Spanish cycling federation say there is no new evidence that Alejandro Valverde worked with alleged Puerto ringleader Dr. Eufemiano Fuentes and will not prevent him from starting next month's world championships
Last week, the UCI said a review of 6000 pages of evidence found in the Operación Puerto files revealed that Valverde was linked to the alleged doping ring and insisted that the Spanish cycling federation open an inquiry against the defending ProTour champion.
Spanish officials said this week that after a review of documents forwarded by the UCI that there's no new information that would require it to open a formal inquiry against the Caisse d'Epargne star.
Valverde has been dogged by suspicions that he's part of the Puerto doping ring since the scandal broke in May of 2006.
Valverde has repeatedly denied working with Fuentes despite circumstantial evidence that he might be mentioned as one of the nicknames found in police raids of Fuentes' offices.
Some insist that the initials "Valv" and the nickname "Piti" could belong to Valverde, though Spanish authorities never officially recognized the link in any police reports or court documents.
Spanish police found a bag of blood that some insist could belong to Valverde. Valverde, however, said he would not undergo DNA sampling unless specifically ordered to do so by a court.
The UCI is also alleging that Valverde missed an out-of-competition control in late June just days ahead of the start of the 2007 Tour de France, according to Spanish media reports.
According to Valverde's lawyer, Francisco Sánchez Sabater, the UCI is giving Valverde 10 days to justify his absence from a surprise anti-doping control on June 23 at his home.
According to Sabater, Valverde sent the UCI a fax on June 12 outlining changes to his racing schedule after abandoning the Dauphiné Libéré, indicating that he instead would be in Eindhoven, Holland, from June 23-25 to compete in the team time trial competition.
Sabater says that Valverde also underwent a post-race doping control June 23 in Holland.
So far, Valverde has refused to comment on the latest rounds between the UCI and the Spanish cycling federation.
Sabater also said Valverde is considering legal action against media outlets and other organizations, including the UCI, that continue to insinuate that Valverde is implicated in the Puerto Affaire.

Stuart O'Grady and some of his friends have assaulted some crew members of a night club in France
It seems more and more likely that Melbourne will host the World Championship in 2010. Their only competitor is Bahrain, and they have now run into legal troubles.
