WTF is Roelandts doing? Perfect positioning, then just going backwards

Erik Mohs!
sprints are still mostly far from perfection (maybe due to wind?), but it´s good to see that teams working in the front for most of time (mine & Vesuvio) are rewarded by stage wins. with one exception, of course
thanks for all congratulations

This is pretty bad all round. Hagen doesn't gain anything from those mindless attacks and Kobe can position himself, plus nor is Alex Rasmussen anywhere near the front to help him out. Oman should be a whole lot of betta!

Why did you pick him for this race anyway? He doesn't have all that many racedays I suspect, and the race is definately not for him :-S

Well he's got plenty of race days seeing as how is focus races are the one-day ones. And he could very likely have done pretty well here. He has won mass sprints earlier, plus with his motor on the flat, he would be a sublime asset in the cross-winds. Didn't happen though.

It goes without saying that Im very happy with the unexpectedly brilliant Vesuvio performance. So many GC placings, and I never imagined Stauff, Schinker and Swift would form such a productive train. Swift will be going solo for the rest of the year, with the exception of the sprinters classics late on. And if he does nothing for the rest of the season, Stauff has already now proved to be a great loan deal for both myself and Bianchi.
Gameplay wise, I hoped for more wind action to split up the field. Without the destructive wind from past PCMs, its less suitable to have a TTT here, however short the TTT is.

Congrats to Bewley for his stage-win! Oz Cycling again couldn't compete in sprint, but it's good to see our riders tht aggressive in the breaks. I think, we did a good job in Qatar

Congrats to SN for the win and the full 8 man lineup in top 17. Amazing! Very similar to the race 2 or 3 years ago. A great outlet to have a good season. Already Vesuvio should be difficult to beat. Well done!
As for my own team I had hoped that Holloway could get a top 10 here, so 16th is not so good. 5th in the TTT and a 4th place in the stages is all I get from this race, but oh well - I'm hoping more for Oman to be good

Nice GC for Vesuvio with 5 in the top10 and 8 in top17 or so. Couldn`t be much better.

Del Nero at least gave us something to cheer about. Not a good performance by Santander

A SN moment
Stauff!!
I imagine building next season a sprinting team around Ciolek and Stauff with some leadout riders.. Seems definetly nice with PCM11 after I failed with PCM09 and the first LEGO season to make a productive leadout train for Ciolek

That was 'wack'.
Won the TTT and then finished the 18th best team. Thought also Rogers might have been the kind of rider to do well in a break too - seemed very weak.
Ho hum... |

I'm not sure about that - not sure it makes that much difference. Didn't Auber dominate the Top 10 in a similar way last year? |

Auber raped the TTT, the sprinters raped Auber, the wind raped everyone else and Auber benefitted. A lot.
Wiggle, on the other hand, did not pick up a single point from that race, other than from finishing. I'm very, very happy that Matt and Luke will not be racing together from now on.
I guess Luke got given the "team leader" role, and so didn't even bother leading out Matt, which would have been quite good with his 79? flat. Still, just good to be up in the Pro Tour.
