A very dangerous group formed upfront, the rest of the peleton struggle to keep control of this group.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0014-2.jpg

[center]The group wasn’t to be caught and it was a win for Westra of Vacansoleil. Europcar a team renowned for taking part in breakaways decided against it today. With the team targeting stage wins here was that an incorrect decision.

Stage 2

Today’s stage presents a last clear cut opportunity to the few sprinters here to grab a win.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0001-21.jpg

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-14.jpg

Today’s 3 man breakaway worked very well together and built up a very decent gap. Initially the break took a long time to form, after a number of attacks from a number of teams this was to be the break of the day, and it was certainly that!

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-20.jpg

A win for Garmin’s Sep Vanmacke, who attacked late on and caught and passed the break.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0004-17.jpg

Peleton finish 18 seconds back.

Stage 3

Todays stage is mainly flat but the hill near the end may play out of the hands of the sprinters. The hill is short and steep enough for an explosive attack from an explosive rider.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0005-12.jpg

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0006-13.jpg

Todays break features, Ladagnous (FDJ), Zingle (Cofidis), Gaudin (Europcar), Le Lay (AG2R), Vemeltfoort (Rabobank), Rollin (FDJ, Burghardt (BMC), De Backer (Skil Shimano), Kostyuk (Lampre) and Meyer (Garmin).

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0008-7.jpg

An the talk about hill before the finish, French National Champion Thomas Voeckler attacked and caught the break, where Gaudin was waiting for him to offer his services. This seems like a well thought out plan by Europcar.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0009-8.jpg

Voeckler claims another win, in what has been a tremendous start to the season for him.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0010-6.jpg

Peleton arrive at the line nearly a minute down on Voeckler, the Frenchman takes the yellow jersey going into tomorrow’s stage.

Stage 4

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-15.jpg

Please let me know if you find the stamp above the pictures annoying, I have downloaded an image converter so I can convert the images to JPEG as a group and not one by one like on the internet. If I have enough money or find some money from somewhere I will register the copy. Its roughly £15.
