Would you not rather see green won on the road as a battle rather than Cavendish being forced to lose the jersey by being eliminated on the mountains.
I'd rather see any rider playing his cards. With this year's system, Cavendish will win the jersey if he isn't Hors Délai in a mountain stage, so if that's what it takes for Gilbert to win the green, he should try.
Not happening.
You never know for sure, but not likely to happen..
I can't see Gilbert pulling off that. Who would pace the peloton? Vanendert won't haul for 120 km's...

Apparently, it's not only Rojas complaining about Cavendish. Gilbert complained yesterday that Cavendish was being pulled by his team mates over the small climb before the intermediate sprint so he could contest it.
The same Gilbert who went 1km before the sprint, then complained about that?
The same Gilbert who wants to force Cavendish out the race to win green?
Sorry for not believing him
That's ok, but where there's smoke, there's fire. And what is wrong with forcing him out of the race?
He he's trying to get him kicked out it's wrong. If he puts his team in front and rides hard on the mountain stages, thats fine.

And they can't put anybody in the break that the peleton wont let go either. So they can't do it on their own. But maybe Movistar will give them some help on that unsportsmanlike tactic?

Movistar doesn't seem to bother since they trying to get Costa in to breakaway.
Delage vs. Millar!

@itvcycling ITV Cycling
According to Garmin-Cervelo Hushovd was clocked at 112kph descending yesterday! Or 69.6mph. That's quite fast #tdf2011

Multi-tasker Bauke Mollema takes a call of nature while descending at quite a speed. Chapeau.

I thought about the same. But why would French or Basques care about Ibrahimovic? |

Interesting interview on ITV4 with Vaughters talking about David Millar in the break.
Said that he's there to cover it, and the plan was to try and get him in the break today.
He's not going to do a whole lot of work - there are too many in the group and it will probably split. He covering Linus G and Jens V who won't be working either as theya re waiting for the schleks.
He did say that if David Millar's legs were good when the get to the final climb that he might go for it. He's won a TT up the Plateau de Baie in the past and if he's feeling good then he could well win, esp if he has a lead! |

Yeah it's gonna be a very tough day for cav, lets just hope he doesn't get eliminated, looking very possible at the moment. |

I would appreciate if they could speed up a bit in the pack now. 7 minutes will take some time to gain on the breakaway.

On a climb it goes quite quickly actually.

I know, but what team will take responsibility? I don't think Europcar is gonna bring back the breakaway with Charteau sitting in it.

Delage - Millar - Bouet. So Delage winning all intermediates so far today. |
