Haven't seen Petacchi in the top-10
Yeh, he dissappeared again - but when Lampre were helping chase, he was on Cav's wheel.
He has run out of his asma medicine

Impressive sprint from Cavendish today.
Also, Galimzyanov 4th! Great news for my fantasy team!

Galymzianov doesn't seem to give up, but I don't think the win will be for him this year. Will be interesting to follow him though, if he keeps up his development he's gonna be a good sprinter for next year(s)

28 Alessandro PETACCHI ITA LAM 03:46:07 00:00:00
Just before A. Schleck & Lang and just after Cancellara & Marcato (not the best sprinters ) Bad result for Petacchi, again

Strong win for Cav, Greipel still needs to improve the positioning part of his sprinting. He took Cav's wheel yesterday when there werent many other sprinters left, but in the 'proper' bunch sprints, he doesnt seem able to battle to get the right wheel.
Sky need to realise that EBH wont win these stages tho. They can put G to work as much as they like, Top 5/Top 10 is all he can do.
yes greipel really has to work on that! than it would have been at least a bit closer - but also he said today he had a little "physical" argument with feillu in the final because of that he lost the wheel of his team mate |

There have been a number of "X team is working for Cav" or "good lead-out by X for Cav" in the last couple of pages which I'd like to comment on.
It's clear that Matty Goss is ill, he missed yesterday's run in and tweeted that he was being sick for the last 60K, and he dropped out of the back again today.
HTC used the super duo of Pate and Bak to pull the breakaway back, but with a 30 sec gap @ 5K to go they had to use their GC contenders too. Eisel, Velits and finally Tony Martin buried themselves to get Renshaw and Cav up front.
Other teams saw this and DID NOT think
OOH! HTC on trouble - we'd better help Cav get his 18th Stage win!!
They thought
OMG! We've got a chance here - we can beat him again!
So Garmin were riding for Farrar, Sky were riding for EB-H and Lampre were just loitering with intent.
They were also trying to keep out of the way of BMC and Leopard who would have swamped them in an attempt to keep their leaders out of a pile-up.
You have to give serious Kudos to Mark Renshaw who was an f*ing magician in the last 1.2K bouncing from train to train and from one side of the road to the other to keep Cav in contention and out of trouble.
In his post race interview with Eurosport, Cav said that it was so packed he bumped his pedal against someone's wheel @ 500 metres and had to re-do up his shoe straps just before he sprinted!

I don't know.. In stage 3, when Farrar won, he & Boonen were in the wheel of Cavendish just before the last left corner when Feillu (just before Cavendish) slipped.. I don't think they went down, but Boonen & Petacchi stopped sprinting for some reason, although Cavendish still managed to get 5th place in that sprint. Petacchi was 161st & Boonen was 162nd in that sprint.. |

He was the only favourite since the very beginning anyway. Only Rojas getting into several mountain breakaways may pose a threat.

Good Job Feillu going home then - this will make the Montpellier sprint a bit safer |

Yep, he lost the wheel of Roelandts with that action |

Post race tweets starting to come in now some are amusing:
@CadelOfficial Cadel Evans
Did anyone see the last 10k of today's Tour stage? I didn't! #wetjuly #tdf
@GeraintThomas86 Geraint Thomas
Congrats to HTC and @MarkCavendish!! The peloton made them ride all day, and the man delivered!!
@GeraintThomas86 Geraint Thomas
1,916km done. 1,514km to go...
@mattgoss1986 Matt Goss
Almost gave the break a little to much leash today. I was on the front at 20k to go instead of 600m to go! Worked out well in the end again!
@laurenstendam Laurens Ten Dam
I do twice a week a scooter training behind my man Dominiek. Flat day in the tour? Lars Ytting Bak and @TheDPate are the scooters. Impressive
@Mark_Renshaw Mark Renshaw
Good day in the office. Even if it was a little wet everybody on the bus is happy. We used everybody & everything to win today. Very happy!

Greipel would been helpless today against Cavendish..even when he would have started just behind him. |

After he led Renshaw out this amuses me.

Well I guess, this day showed that Cav and Renshaw if the HTC disbanded where they would be heading
Again Hagen lost Thomas wheel, but it wasn't going work today anyway. Though with better positioning behind Thomas, Hagen can get actually a podium. And I think it was clear today that Swift is not the spritner everybody thought he be in the team, leading out Thomas and on other days doing domestique work.
