RadioShack doing well in the intermediate. I can't decide on which team I want to lose, HTC or them. |

How Popovych has fallen. He's not even got the team leader number. To think he finished 3rd here as a 2nd year pro.

Agreed, but I think Petacchi looked very good aswell. Will be a nice sprint. |

I can sit through them, not enjoy them too much unless the race is really put on them, like last years TDF in Bordeaux.

I like ITTs. Furthermore, I want more ITT kms, GTs have had too few of them in the last years. TTTs sucks though. |

I would like to make a little analysis about this first stage:
excluding Contador,Nibali and Scarponi whose team has made a good TTT, the others big have lost some precious seconds.
Kreuziger 28s,Menchov and Sastre 31s,J.Rodriuguez 42s, I.Anton 50s.
I know that this year it's going to be a very long Giro but losing so many seconds in a 19 km TTT is a shame for those teams.
The big (or not?)surprises of today are surely Radioshack and Lotto.
The first come to Italy with some GC interests and today's performance prove it. Thiago Machado maybe it's not the greatest climber, but is an excellent TT and with some lucky he can finish in the T10.
Lotto come with no interest for the GC and will try to win some stages with long run breakway but today have proved to be a very strong overall ream.
Laslty,as italian, i am very happy for Pinotti. Surely he will lose the pink jersey soon, maybe tomoroow, but it's good to an italian wearing the pink jersey since day one. And if HTC would have brought Van Gardenen with him he could have finished in T10 but they decided to bet all they have on Cav.
I hope that tomorrow that pink jersey remains in HTC. Cross fingers for the engineer!! |

Don`t underestimate Pinotti`s climbing skills. He wsa top10 last year and I am quite sure that he will finish in the top15 again, maybe even another top10. |

And besides, last year, Pinotti was all alone in the mountains. Not even Albasini could help him. This is year is just the same (unless Lewis or Bak are in good shape). |

yeah but this year it's a lot tougher than last year...i obviously support Pinotti because he's probably going to fight all alone against much stronger riders and teams.
I hope that he gets T10 or a higher! |

Well, whether we like it or not... there's that little race in California that is kinda important to American teams.

As for GC i feel like i am going in completly blind this year. There are a few contenders but i have a hard time picking the favourite to win. Some seem strong but it is also important to have a strong enough team that can work together. I havent really followed the earlier competitions this year and looking at the staring lists i feel lost.
In the giro we often see at least someone wanted to show their strength in the first mountains and i hope it will be the case this year too so that things will heat up first week already even if the absolute strongest only make sure they dont lose to much times.
Being swedish i hope Lövqvist doesnt break down as soon as the temperature is over 25 C. Really cold weather for stage 7 and 9 would be great.
I also hope radioshack will let Beppu do his thing. |

I was surprised by Androni's result, I didn't think they would perform as well as they did. If the team can keep this level of support up then their climbers can realistically appear throughout he entire race and at least one can do a top 10.
