Ive gone for a few brits along with just GC and had to have a sprinter and I think ventoso can get over the mountains ok. Hopefully I have 4 out of the top 5 as Im not to sure about Nibali so didnt risk it. Gone for the same tactic as last year where I think I as 2nd

Had my team ready week ago. One dillema I had was betwen Anton and Kreuizger, they will be close in GC but Kreuziger will probably win Youth Rankings and score daily from youth rankings so he should score more points. Ventoso should be good bet for hilier spritns .Kruijswijk might surpirse as the leader of Raboank.

The teams can be seen now.
After a quick look, I must say that SportingNonsense's team is one of the strongest.
EDIT: I've been checking the point system, and there's no points for youth rankings...

I know, but I like the fact that I got one rider right.

Interesting decision to go for 2 sprinters in one of the hardest Giro routes ever! Makes things interesting I suppose, as I dont think too many will have done that.
Yeah I picked Cavendish because I think he will win 2-3 stages + the TTT, and Farrar because I think he can survive some of the tougher stages, atleast to make it in the group behind the winners (Perhaps sprinting for 6th-10th)
So hopefully it pays off, but let's see

Damn, I switched at the last minute from Modolo to Ventoso because I thought Modolo was too popular

Without Rodriguez, Nibali, Anton and (Menchov, Petacchi, Cavendish) I seem to have a not very common team.
Thanks for counting all the names. Some are really interesting. |

Interesting count that. Kinda surprised only 30 out of 82 teams had Pinotti, he lept out at me when looking at the Gregarios.
Not surprised to see Contador so popular, I am gambling on a Contador fail though.
My team btw:
Vincenzo NIBALI [22] LIQ
Michele SCARPONI [18] LAM
Denis MENCHOV [18] GEO
Joaquin RODRIGUEZ [14] KAT
Domenico POZZOVIVO [10] COG
Marco PINOTTI [6] THR
Francisco VENTOSO [6] MOV
Davide VIGANO [4] LEO
Fabio SABATINI [2] LIQ
Though we shall see with this team. Went with cheap ass sprinters hoping for regular points, though I can see a few good shouts like Belletti and Apollinnio who I could have gone for too. 17 others went for Ventuso surpises me, but Mb and SN are pretty good company!
I got scared off of Anton last minute by the way, not sure I should have done that we shall see.
Some poor sod has got Bobridge
and another Kessiekoff

In terms of Ventoso, I knew I didnt want a pricey one, and he was the only one who stood out to me as having had a decent season so far - and while he may not get much on the pure sprints, he ought to be there for the more bumpy stuff. And a bargain at 6 pts.
The climbers category was my main annoyance. I couldnt afford Kreuziger and one other, as I wanted - so Rujano and Kiryienka it is instead, more of a risk - but could pay off.

Well Pavel Brrr has been having a good season so I jumped on him in hopes he can get a breakaway win or something, same with Cataldo, then Wyss I beleive can be up there for the sprints and Stetina I think will surprise you all.

Contador, Kreuziger, Rodriguez, Anton, Cavendish, Duarte, Le Mevel, Agnoli, Pardilla
Only one sprinter and then 8 riders who I hope can do all well in overall standings. The winning strategy?
