It would be a real shame not to have B&O in the PT next year

I'll be cheering you on to avoid relegation, as I imagine most of the managers will be. Good luck!

I can only add to others that it would be real shame to have one of the coolest teams in the game moving down a level, so good luck for the rest of the season niconico.
But you can sell Grivko to Metinvest either way!

Thanks all y'all, I'm hoping for a good Deutschland Tour with Keinath that could salvage some points for me. Hopefully we'll make it

Shouldn't you change the thread title to ''OMG PCM 12 Sucks'' or ''I may be going down''? |

Pluchkin finishes 9th in Tour de France
It did not pan out the way Team B&O wanted in spite of conquering the yellow jersey in stage seven the Moldovan captain suffered a fatal puncture that made him lose 5 minutes in stage 13.
"I honestly wanted to go home after that stage. It stills feels so unreal because I really did lose the Tour because of a puncture. I showed in the remaining stages I could follow Madrazo, so all there is to say is I'm gutted. I want to come back though and I want to keep improve and win this race."
This was the only comment we have managed to get from the Moldovan. What remains now after the settling of the dust is the unsurity regarding the team's survival at ProTour level. We managed to get the following comment from the DS.
"Well we're hands down in a bit of slump mentally right now. The important now is for Pluchkin to shake off the dissapointment and stay fit for his last race of the season in Liechtenstein. A win there would mean the world to him and the team. That being said we still have a good chance of finishing on a high not this season and stay in the division. We Tour of Norway coming up where Guldhammer could gain us some good results and then there's Tour of Colombia and Germany with Keinath as captain and then of course GP Liechtenstein where Pluchkin will be one of the favourites. We are infact very anxious to move past this race and regain our confidence"
Team B&O has been at Pro Tour level since 2010 and Pluchkin's 9th Place at this year's Tour is his second worst result since a 12th Place in 2009.

Hopefully Pluchkin will be in yellow in Paris some day
Though, he will have an extra opponent in about two years

If it wasn't for the puncture, he may had won the Tour, wich is sad. |

Good luck Nico, I'm really hoping you stay afloat as B&O is a classic PT team, and your team setup really reminds me of my own.

In the Spotlight
Team Manager Nico Nico
It's been up and down for the Danish ProTour team this season, but right now the outfit might be in its biggest downswing in their history. With only a few points separating them from the relegation zone the team with the upcoming stars could be facing a trip to ProContinental land in 2014. We've sat down with the manager.
Q: You sold Edvald Boasson Hagen before the season and he is right now in the form of his life, that makes you look a bit silly doesn't it?
NN: I don't think Eddy [Hagen] would have the same kind of season had he stayed with us, so no, I don't regret that. If anything I have enjoyed watching him dominate the classics this season and him coming so close to the Ardennes Treble was an amazing feat. Part of where he is right now is because of his time at Team B&O.
Q: You had Aleksandr Pluchkin racing the Ardennes Classics this year. He got unlucky in the Tour and lost a lot of points and potentially the biggest result of his career there. Why send him to the classics?
NN: Well in retrospect that wasn't the managerial decision of my career. I don't think I was the only who thought he could podium in Liege-Bastogne-Liege at least, but after all there's a reason why some riders specialize in these races.
Q: Doesn't it bother you that that little not-so-good decision could cost your team your ProTour spot?
NN: If Alex' tire didn't flat that day in Le Tour I don't think we would be having this conversation. There's a lot of small things that have to go smooth and a tire is a small thing, unfortuneately this one didn't hold up.
Q: Are you still in the ProTour come 2014?
NN: Yes. And Pluchkin will win Le Tour. Heck he will win the Tour even if we aren't a ProTour team!

Rolf Sørensen: Pluchkin could be forced out of team!
Team B&O is balancing at the edge right now and it looks like there is a more than realistic chance that they are not going to extend their stay in the top tier of cycling for another year. If this happens what will then happen with the team? The most succesful Danish cyclist of all time Rolf Sørensen, who is also a keen admirer of the currently biggest team of his home-country has predicted the following scenario.
"The question is to whether they would have to get rid off their good up-and-comers, guys like Nico Keinath, Rasmus Guldhammer, Nikias Arndt for instance, or if they want to still have the prowess to keep winning big races and re-sign Pluchkin. He hasn't had the season he had in 2012, but that is mainly due to the catastrophe that happened to him in the Tour de France.
Either way it's a big shame that the team would have fraction when just coming out of their transition period."
Talking about the team's chances of staying up, Sørensen had not yet ruled out that B&O could just stay upright.
"Tour of Germany is going to be huge for them. It's basically win or die for them. If they can get a good points haul here and get above the relegation zone that chance definitely stays intact, and that should be very much possible."

Bronze medal for Keinath at Stuttgart Worlds
The World Championships started earlier today in Stuttgart, Germany, with a B&O rider on the podium.
The first event was the team time trial where Nico Keinath was racing alongside German powerhouses like Schädlich and Kittel and helped his team on their way to a big result.
The Germans couldn't match the defending champions, Holland, as they ended the time trial 27 seconds off the pace of the Dutch. Second place wasn't that far away with Spain taking the silver medal just 8 seconds ahead of Keinath's Germany.
It was Nico Keinath's first ever medal at a World Championship.

Second medal for B&O at World Championships
The World Championships in Stuttgart just became even more succesful for Team B&O when young talent, Nikias Arndt took silver in U23 Men's Road Race.
Actually the German climber came agonizingly close to winnning the first Rainbow Jersey for the team since Maxime Bouet won the U23 ITT Championship in Paris back in 2009. In a mad dash for the line Wilco Kelderman just came out on top and took a great win.
Earlier today the team's captain Alex Pluchkin took 12th place in the Men's ITT. It's the team's second medal, but two doesn't beat that magical year in 2009, where the team took home four medals.
