Stage 2

img17.imageshack.us/img17/8231/2gdiprofile.jpg

With only 8 riders, keeping the lead is going to be a great challenge. The two climbs comes fairly early on the stage, so I think we are going to be able to catch the break. We have no intentions of winning the stage, and are more than happy just keeping the jersey.

img684.imageshack.us/img684/4424/2gdi1.jpg
At the last climb the break has around 5 minutes.

7 kms to go and the break is caught. Coppel is sitting nicely on Bennatis wheel.

img151.imageshack.us/img151/9581/2gdi4.jpg
This shows how ridicilous PCM can be Smile Coppel outsprints Bennati for second!

This isn`t working for me Wink Maybe end of top 10 but never outsprinting them.
But you are right that`s PCM.

kissaha
It won't happen again, it's just too ridicilous. I just wanted to sit at the front in case there were some splits.

img135.imageshack.us/img135/1390/3gdi1.jpg
The pack splits up with 5 kms to go. I kept my eye on the sprint, but they apparently managed to get in contact with the front. Too bad, because many of the favorites were there, including Nibali.

img824.imageshack.us/img824/2497/4gdi4.jpg
Coppel tries to attack on the second to last hill. He doesn't have the legs to get a big lead, but has 10 seconds at the bottom of the final hill

img35.imageshack.us/img35/9877/4gdi5.jpg
Cunego wins, with Coppel not far behind. Unluckiest man of the day is S. Anza, who got passed in the final 200 metres after being in a breakaway all day

Interesting stage, the climbs are not as long as the ones on the last hilly stage, but there are more and they are steeper. It's going to be tough to keep the lead.

img26.imageshack.us/img26/6416/6gdi1.jpg
Cunego and Ricco attacks on the last climb. They get a gap of around 30 seconds.

Yes, it don't have anything else to doSmile
It's two more flat stages, before the first mountain stage where I reccon the jersey will be lost. After the rest day there is a long timetrial, where I might me able to get it back .

As always I only have 2 men left in the main group when the pace gets high, so therefore it was only luck that Anza didn't get the last 8 seconds.

Next up is the first mountain stage of the Giro, and I have great expectations!

Stage 9

A very tough finish, first you have the Passo di Cantoniera which is 10 kms long with an average percent of 6.6. Then you have the real challenge Monte Carpegna, 6 kms with a gradient of 10% (!!), a real cracker.
