@janne837: Yeah it was pretty cool to beat those riders in the sprint. And we almost passed Petecchi but the course was 3 inches too short.
@Rest: Thanks. Its nice to get congratulations when I finally do well. |

Paris Nice Stage 7:
This day was a big day for us. We pretty much have no chance in the GC but for Kiryienka he can get a stranglehold on the KOM classification today, if he can get points along the day through the BOTD. We hope he doesn't get pulled back just because he is the leader in that classification though. And I see why its called the race to the sun. Because its hardly ever out behind all these rain clouds.
Todays BOTD. Kiryienka was able to get in it, but he still had to work to get his King of the Mountain points.
After getting maximum points Vasil has time to "stretch" before the technical descent.
Unlucky for them, the next climb on the menu was the biggest climb of the whole 8 day tour. Mant of the weaker riders in the break fell off. The peloton was going hard and the GC favs behind were making attack after attack, but none succeeded so far.
1km left on this dreadful climb that ruined the breakaways chance at survival and Kiryienka is still in the lead group. And although just being caught by Sammy Sanchez, Vasil still got 4th over the climb and got 6 crucial points.
At this point with 5km left, Costa, was the only survivor for Caisse, when Joaquin Rodriguez attacked in Cancellara-esque style.
He was unreachable and solo-ed for a great victory. Costa dropped just before the line and lost time, but who really cares?

Tirreno Adriatico Stage 4:
The stage looks a little menacing but hopefully we stay in the lead group, as tommorow is when it all begins for the GC riders. Still Rojas has really been impressing with great results considering he is a sprinter.
The stage set off and instantly there were attacks. A break formed and they had a nice gap of 7 minutes. Then the big teams came forth and pulled the break back with 15km left.
Breschel made his move and got a large gap.
Just going under the 1km banner Breschel is starting to be brought back.
Bertagnolli of Androni is rapidly gaining on the tired Breschel and could steal the win from him.
Sneakily, Bertagnolli passes Breschel and Matti has to use all his power to regain the lead, but the line came too fast for him and "Berts" gets the win, and one of the nicest wins of the season too.

Paris Nice Stage 8 [Final]:
Its the final stage. There's a good chance that Vasil can keep his lead in the KOM, but other riders could also go out on a hunt for more points. Vasil doesn't have the safest lead, so he might go in the break to protect his lead.
A few of the more dangerous riders got in the BOTD and 2 were close to the lead so we had Vasil join them.
Laurent Lefevre attacked from the peloton with 50km left. Obviously Bbox didn't feel satisfied with P-N so far.
Some 20km later and a time of 3 minutes that was gapped Lefevre joins the lead group on the final climb.
Laurent immediately pulls at the front and nobody can follow his pace, as he has the freshest legs.
On the descent to the finish Lefevre has time to look at the beautiful coastline, as he coasts to victory. He already has a 2 minute gap to the 2nd group of breakaway riders, and that group has 3 minutes to the peloton.
Laurent celebrates an emotional win!
Break starts the sprint to the line.
Larsson 2nd, Kiryienka 3rd. Best finish for Caisse this tour and it just so happens that Vasil will be celebrating on the podium for his well-deserved KOM victory.

Hey guys I accidentally forgot to hit the see replay button at the end of the race, because my mouse was lagging and I thought I was clicking "See replay" but it was the podiums instead, so just telling in advance that the next update wont have pics. |

The pic from P-N stage 7 that shows Kiryienka 'stretching' as he takes maximum points over the climb is really funny.
Nice KOM victory, in the end Kiryienka had a huge lead. |

Tirreno Adriatico Stage 5:
Today was such a bad day. Bruseghin our only hope really, crashed early on in the day and seemed to be affected by it. Uran had just gone on an attack as Bruseghin had fallen so we had 1 rider in the break and one behind the peloton. Uran stayed away until 40km left but Bruseghin never made it back to the peloton. Pereiro really took a nice win though.

Tirreno Adriatico Stage 6
What a stage. We had Uran go in the break to defend Losada's KOM lead, and also hope that the peloton would not bring the break back. But they did. All of Caisse's riders got dropped except Rojas (they suck even though all riders of ours have +85 fitness. It came down to a bunch sprint with the climbers/puncheurs (Rojas included)
Franck makes his move against Gerrans.
And Franck Schleck wins. Gerrans 2nd.

Bad luck in the last 2 stages.
Hope you can at least get the KoM jersey back. Or a breakaway win. |

First of all, great story so far..keep up the good work valverde! I really like your style
I agree with roturn, you had bad luck the last stages but I´m sure you´re coming back. Hopefully Uran can win a stage, would be great. Pity, I wasn´t able to sign him in my Columbia career... |

@Thanks Roturn, the whole Paris Nice and Tirreno races have been disapointing, but I think MSR and the Vuelta Cataluyna will be more succesful.
@Batista thanks a lot. I'm really glad you like my style. Thing like that make me extra motivated.

Catalunya is quite good to play in PCM10. Just take a good timetrialist and hill/mo about 70-73.
He shouldn`t lose time on the hilly stages normally and so the timetrial is most important.
Good luck. |
