Anyone know the reason of Bennati being pulled out of Liquigas 9?
Absolutely no reason was given.
Let the conspiracy theories begin. Is he the other italian?
Dall'Antonia will replace him.
?
Bennati has not recovered from the muscle problem that he got while racing in Flanders last month
A shame that ISD - Neri and Rujano weren't invited instead of those ProTour teams sending B-squads due to their focus on Tour of California...
It's because the HAVE to invite them! It has been said a million times already when will people get that RCS had no choice on this?! Now inhale... exhale... inhale... exhale...

Hondo is immune to rational thought

Freire's out. Bennati's out. There go my 1st and 2nd pick for the points.

Petacchi vs. Greipel vs. Farrar??? Could be interesting. All of them have really good helpers.
Maybe also Pozzato and McEwen but i really think they aren`t strong enough.

freire is going to the hospital in the afternoon then they will decide.
If Freire is unable to ride, his place would be taken by first-year-pro Steven Kruijswijk.

Nah, he's out. News just in.
It isn't allergies, but sinusitis most likely. Either way, he can't breathe properly. In comes Kruijswijk.

Thank you for the fresh information.
It is really a pity...
Maybe this way he will run Tour and Vuelta. |

What do you think about Garzelli? Impressive performance in Tirreno and look at his Giro09...except one "jour sans" he was impressive! Maybe his last Giro - a podium? |

See, never trust the internet. Freire not out just yet.
He tested this afternoon, and it went quite well. They'll try again tomorrow morning and then they'll decide.

Here are my picks for the Giro
Ivan Basso to Win (5/1 Stan James)
Dario Cioni to finish in the top 10 (33/1 Bet 365)
Matt Lloyd to finish in the top 10 (33/1 Will Hill)
Would love to hear your thoughts on them.

I truly the Plan de Corones will be a major trap for everyone, because it's just following the second rest day, which is a key part in a GT.
So, Sastre, look out for day off !

I cant see either Cioni or Lloyd making the Top 10. Top 20 at a push for Cioni maybe - but Dani Moreno is far more likely to lead the Omega team

I don't know in Cycle Sport this month Roberto Dimiani said that the team will go into the race without a captain and the road would decide who would lead. I think Lloyd is focusing his whole season around this race while Moreno may be looking towards the tour. For Cioni it is more of a gamble but at that price it is worth a punt as he has been in the top 10 before so knows what it is all about |

Are you for real?
Do you pay attention to cycling media at all? Say for the last 3 months?

I've heard some - quite frankly bonkers - rumours that with Freire out Rabo were going to put Menchov in his place. Maybe that's what he's referring to? |

We could give him the benefit of the doubt, but most people when referring to some horrendous rumour, that hasnt already been stated would first mention the rumour, and then mention that it's not true.
Plus, I'm the angriest member of the forum, so it's my right to be angry. Yeah. Anger.
