Giro d'Italia Stage 1
Well here we are. The Giro and 1st Grand Tour of the year. Lets hope its a successful one.
Caisse was the first team out. They set a blistering time and held onto it after the next few "weaker" teams came by.
Androni's TTT skills were not as good as Caisse. Probably ever rider on Androni was thinking in the back of their heads "lets not loose too much time today".
Acqua & Sapone also had a bad TTT. They lost lots of time today. A total of 41 seconds to be exact.
Team HTC- Colombia. They went very fast. But did they have enough to beat Caisse. No. they lost 8 seconds somewhere along the course.
Katusha was trying their best for Kim Kirchen. They didn't do too bad. They only lost 20 seconds.
Well Lampre went. They also didn't have a very good TTT team. Lampre was really going hard for their GC man Cunego but they are jsut not skilled enough in the TTT. They did however pull off a very good time for the squad they brought with a +15.
Lotto had a good day. No one expected them today and everyone was right. They did pull off a pretty good time though.
Milram. Fothen was the GC captain but he had no helpers and pretty much pulled his team to the line today. Great ride by him. +25
SaxoBank. Today they were the underdogs. Voigt had a good ride and so did O'Grady.
Here's us. The Garmin boys had a bad day today. You can see me on the front here.
But when we got in over the line we lost 45 seconds to the stage winners. Svein tuft rode fantastic.
Liquigas the favourites for today didn't surprise. They had the best time check and then passed Caisse by 5 seconds on the finish line. Basso and Nibali are in the perfect position for a GC win right now. They're definately the team to beat for this years Giro.
Team RadioShack had to go. They had a good time finishing 1 second back on Caisse and 6 back on Liquigas. Kloden (in the glasses) looked strong today and with that team it will ne hard to beat him.
Team-Sky was the last team out. They rode a solid TT today but it wasn't enough. Wiggins told us before that he wanted to win this stage but Sky just couldn't match the speed of Liquigas.

Giro d'Italia Stage 2
Today was a flat day. No need to work today, just sit and chat and prepare for the mountains.
The day began with a break of 6 riders. They got a lead of 6 minutes at the first of the 3 small hills near the end of the stage. Eventually the riders in the break were caught. AT 8 km's. Farrar felt bad today and the hills weren't helping. He told us he din't want a train today so that made my day easier. Van Summeren was our best placed rider with 4km to go but he fell back rapidly. The sprint began and luckily none of the big guns were there so Farrar wasn;t missing out on too much today.
In the end Ben Swift won. He might be a rider to watch out for in the later stages.

Giro d'Italia Stage 3
Today should be like yesterday. Fairly easy day.
A break got away toay with a max of 5 minutes. the most dangerous rider in the break was Cardoso of Footon. The break eventually got caught with 26kms left.
Scary moment as Kessiakoff crashed. I am the Garmin rider right beside him.
He caused many others to crash. VandeBroeck and Nibali were the bigggest names to crash.
But it wasn't just crashes today there was a sprint too. Farrar was in a bad position but a top 3 on the stage would be possible.
Well Greipel takes the win. That could be one of many for him.

He has 72 Sprint or 71 so he's not bad at sprinting.

Why his sprint is a 71. (I'll asume that's what you meant)
Well when I added him into my db he had recently beaten Ventoso and few other sprinters. The level of a duque or someone like that so I gave him a 70 sprint and now he just improved it.

Hey guys. I have been having a problem with the 4th stage of the Giro. IT keeps crashing as soon as the stage loads so I assumed it was a graphics problem but when I lowered my graphics it still crashed at the exact same spot. Has anyone else had a problem with this stage. (Its the 2009 Giro profiles).

Hey guys. I got the stage to work. I think I found the problem too. The sky appears to be grey even though the weather forecast calls for it to be sunny. I raced the stage but then the pics didn't register in my Screenshots folder so just writing today. Sorry.
Hello. Today is the first mountain stage. Vande Velde is ready. I'm ready so lets get on the road.
Okay the day started off slow with a break of 5 riders getting away. The break had a 5 minute lead unti lthe 2nd last climb where we got them within 2 minutes. Then on the flat about 3 km's before the start of the last climb Wiggins and Emanuelle Sella attacked. Both passed the break away riders but wiggins opened up a gap on Sella and was all alone at the front. Now back at the peloton I was sitting in front of Christina when Stefano Garzeli and Scarponi attacked. I could hear Vaughters shouting in Christian's ear to attack with Garzeli. So off Christian went. He and Garzeli rode by Scarponi and started working to catch Wiggins who was 20 seconds ahead. Now with 5km's to go Garzeli lifted the pace even more and Vand Velde fell back. "JV" was yelling at Christian. "Come on Christian" Come on" "Your cathcing him" And eventually with 3km's to go he had caught Garzeli. but GArzeli looked exhausted so Vande Velde attacked and made it all the way to Wiggins. The sprint started and Christian had the lead. At the line it wa neck-and-neck but Vande Velde beat Wiggins to the line. Great win. 4 minutes later my group made it in. Some favourites were in this group like Soler, Plaza and Nibali.

Thanks. It was nice for VDV to win as that might be his only win of the Giro as I expect the competition to get even harder now.

Giro d'Italia Stage 5
Well today's a big day. Probably one of the hardest stages of the Giro, luckily its not as long as other stages. VDV had a good day yesterday and today my tactics remain the same: Work for Christian.
After all my work for him up the mountain thus far Christian jumped off the front of the group. He passed the group of Cunego and Eibegger. Basso was still up the road but VDV eventually made it to him. Then Wiggins made it with that group.
They formed a group of 3 and rode up the mountain. With 8 km's left other riders had started to bridge the 1 minute gap. Now it was a large group of 7 riders or so.
Christian felt that this was the moment to break free of the group and try for a solo win, or atleast get time on Wiggins. It succeded for the most part...
..the only rider to catch up with Vande Velde was Bruseghin of all people. They rode to the finish together and then Bruseghin won it in a sprint.
Sorry I lost half my ss's and game crashed before I got to export.
