Another hilly classic. Rooks (Buckler), Kelly (PDM), Bugno (Gatorade) and Leclercq (Helvetia) are the men in great shape and have shown their faces already in the Liege - Bastogne - Liege and the Fleche Wallone. It is expected that these guys will fight for who wins.

Indurain was also present in the Fleche Wallone and Liege Bastogne Liege. He did not show his face up front. Also his hill stats are not that good. I would be suprised if he would win. But in the TdF he will be there fore sure and kick everybodies ass.

The Tour de Romandie is the last race before the Giro for the Gatorade team. Other teams may still ride the Vuelta de Catalunya or the Classic des Alpes. Since these are very heavy races, it was decided to skip them instead. The Gatorade squad is tiny and does not allow for riding two tours at once. Most of the riders therefore will use the Tour de Romandie to prepare themselves for the Giro. For Bugno this is a serious race, which he wants to win. After this he will rest for a month and then start preparing him for the Tour de France. Giovanetti will be the leader in the Giro.
The mountain stage is easy. Should be an easy win for Bugno

"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
I agree that Bugno has a great shot to win. To win the Tour de Romandie you need good TT stats (stage 6), great mountain stats (stage 3), but also great hill stats (stage 2). Not that many riders are allround enough to take it on with Bugno. However, he is not in great shape anymore. He peaked at L-B-L and the Amstel Gold and will peak again in the Tour.
170 km: Mariuzzo (Ariostea) tries to leave the pack. Zberg (Helvetia), Vichot (Castorama), Ahedo (ONCE), Hamburger (TVM), Bielli (Del Tongo), Talen (PDM), Evenepoel (Histor) and Dominguez (CLAS) jump along, but the Banesto train easily catches them on a steep part of the track.
160 km: Mathis (Subaru), Bielli (Del Tongo), Ouslamine (TVM), Espinosal (CLAS) and Conti (Ariostea) try to get away. Giannelli (Carrera), Espejo (Kelme), Capelle (Z), Evenepoel (Histor), Ahguita (Seur) and Abadie (Toshiba) try to jump along.
153 km: Espinosa (CLAS), Abadie (Toshiba), Mathis (Subaru), Ouslamine (TVM), Bielli (Del Tongo), Conti (Ariostea) and Giannelli (Carrera) have a 1’24” lead on the pack. Anguita (Seur), Dernies (Weinmann), Halupczok (Del Tongo), Walzer (PDM), Lietti (Ariostea) and Ahedo (ONCE) try to make the jump to the leaders. Espejo (Kelme) also jumps along.
136 km: Dominguez (CLAS) also leaves the pack together with Kuum (TVM) and Ahedo (ONCE).
130 km: All attackers are caught by the pack.
80 km: Chioccioli (Del Tongo), Zulle (ONCE) and Gorospe (Banesto) fell and are behind the pack. Several ONCE and Del Tongo riders are waiting for them.

Hey, pretty fun story but could you give top riders stats.
Here you are. The 1991 DB is realy great. I recommend you to try it out and I really appreciate the people that took a lot of effort in it to make this DB. I especially like it since I started to enjoy cycling in the time of Chiappucci, Bugno, Indurain, Delgado and LeMond. I think it is great to be able to play with these old hero's.
I'm trying to upload it a bit bigger, but somehow Photobucket decreases the size of the actual figure. Be patient......
Apparently, it doesn't matter how big the figure is. There is a maximum size it gets when it is posted. It is probably going to cost me all night, but you are going to get the pic in decent format...
