Thats true. However it won't heal the current dissapointment. It'll blow over by tomorrow.

Glad we got sorted that out - moving on
Did you see the crash in the women's Scratch? Julie Leth caused it. Didn't look too good. |

seriously, if you're not putting your best 4 on the track in the biggest race of the year, what's the point? |

The Olympics is the point, and its a 4 year cycle. If youre not going to use the 4 years to try different lineups, or allow riders to take a different focus for a period of it, then its not very productive.
And at the end of the day, Britain are the Olympic champions and world record holders

Gah i didn't understand the scratch at all. I swear i thought the breakaway was going to win right until the moment i noticed the pack was sprinting for the win.
Also, Julie Leth is made out of equal parts steel and awesome since she could break someone's bike with her back. Sorta...

Nice win the TP!!! I won't rub that in though, the commentators giving GB such a great wrap before each race when they end up losing is funny enough

Oh yeah. And after the race she said that she had to finish, she is here to drive the World Champs and not to cry, she can always do that after the race..

i seriously think, with the way the competition is going, in london we could see teams doing sub 3:50 |

sub 3.50.. not going to happen before or during london.
Also, you forget that as SN has already said, that wasn't GB's strongest team, we're trying out lineups, 2nd isn't bad for a B rate line up against Australia's A line up. Also in London Team GB will have the crowd behind you, something track riders call "The extra gear".

Chris Hoy is mortal again. Beaten by Forstemann in the 1/8 finals, he is back in through the repechages but now faces Bauge in the 1/4 finals - the two fastest qualifiers, and one wont reach the Semis.

And it didnt get any better. 3 Brits in the Quarter finals, 0 Brits in the Semi finals. Thats dissapointing

what is up with the british school of sprint tactics - they love to leave a huge gap and create a lot of work for themselves. too much work evidently

I still dont like danish coverage of cycling. We had 20 (although it felt like 45) minutes of interviews with various people related, professional or not, to the danish madison team and only got to watch one heat of the womens sprint final.

I think it's the track, different tactics are in use due to the longer straights

Incredibily stupid that the Madison is not part of the Olympics. Very well done to the Ozzies. (again). |

The British team haven't adjusted their tactics in the most part

my point still stands. marginal gains, marginal schmains, they should have adjusted the tactics

This is the problem, start winning golds, people expect it. It's hard to win gold, don't forget it.
