STAGE 1 : PALMA - PALMA
First stage of this tour is a circuit which should bring us a mass sprint in the end. There are many good sprinters such as Freire,Petacchi,Lorenzetto,Swift and Greipel
There was a big breakaway today, where for example Downing took part in
After the breakaway was brought back to the pack the teams kept the pace high.Grabsch and Sieberg try to build a sprint train for our sprint captain Andre Greipel;Freire is also there and Xacobeo tries to get in our train
But then Duque from Cofidis crashed and it doesn´t look good for our team because this crash is just a few metres before us!!!Freire has no chance to get away from this danger;the favorite for today´s stage is down!!
Pacheco from Xacobeo is also down but good news, our team could avoide this crashing rider
But still bad luck for Greipel, his team-mates Grabsch and Sieberg could not hold on, so he´s on his own and far behind the fastest sprint trains
The sprint begins and Petacchi on the right side seems to be the fastest at the moment ,so Greipel just tries to follow him
And it works for the moment but does his energy suffice to make a move?
Petacchi is in front now with Greipel on his backwheel
Last kilometre and Greipel tries everything to pass Petacchi but it doesn´t work
Petacchi takes an impressive stage win in front of Greipel ,who´s still searching for his shape.Gert Steegmans becomes third

While one part of our team is in Spain another team-squad traveled to Qatar!
And this is our team choice for the Tour of Qatar
Bernhard Eisel
Lars Ytting Bak
Vicente Reynès
Tejay Van Garderen
Adam Hansen
Marco Pinotti
Patrick Gretsch
Frantisek Rabon
Eisel will be our team captain and of course our main sprinter.Bak and Reynes should be able to build a good sprint train for Bernhard. Our goal there is a good position in the overall and at least one stage win |

STAGE 1 : DOHA TTT
I simulated this team time trial because it wouldn´t be really realistic if I would ride it myself
So these are the results
1 | Liquigas - Doimo | 15'08 | 2 | Team HTC - Columbia | + 5 | 3 | Rabobank | + 9 | 4 | Omega Pharma - Lotto | s.t. | 5 | Team Saxo Bank | + 25 | 6 | Team Katusha | s.t. | 7 | Skil - Shimano | + 30 | 8 | BMC Racing Team | + 38 | 9 | Astana | s.t. | 10 | Team Milram | + 56 | 11 | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 12 | Bbox Bouygues Télécom | + 1'03 | 13 | Sky Professional Cycling Team | + 1'11 | 14 | Quick·Step | s.t. | 15 | UnitedHealthcare presented by Maxxis | + 1'21 | 16 | De Rosa - Stac Plastic | s.t. | 17 | Adria Mobil | + 1'27 | 18 | PSK Whirlpool - Author | + 1'35 | 19 | Team Nutrixxion Sparkasse | s.t. | 20 | Amore & Vita - Conad | + 1'43 |
I think these are very realistic results when you take a look at the startlists
Overall
1 | Maciej Bodnar | Liquigas - Doimo | 15'08 | 2 | Francesco Bellotti | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 3 | Fabio Sabatini | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 4 | Daniel Oss | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 5 | Tiziano Dall'Antonia | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 6 | Brian Vandborg | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 7 | Kristjan Koren | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 8 | Mauro Finetto | Liquigas - Doimo | s.t. | 9 | Marco Pinotti | Team HTC - Columbia | + 5 | 10 | Lars Ytting Bak | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 11 | Frantisek Rabon | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 12 | Patrick Gretsch | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 13 | Adam Hansen | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 14 | Bernhard Eisel | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 15 | Vicente Reynès | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 16 | Tejay Van Garderen | Team HTC - Columbia | s.t. | 17 | Jos Van Emden | Rabobank | + 9 | 18 | Maarten Tjallingii | Rabobank | s.t. | 19 | Tom Leezer | Rabobank | s.t. | 20 | Lars Boom | Rabobank | s.t. |
It´s a great position for Eisel because there are bonifications after every stage |

Challenge Volta Ciclista a Mallorca
Stage 2 : Son Servera - Cala Millor
This stage will be hard for Greipel because only a few kilometres before the finish line there´s a little hill.Greipel´s mountain and hill stat isn´t really well so it´s gonna be a hard part. After the impressive stage win by Petacchi yesterday we´re expecting him far in front but also Freire who was crashing yesterday will be one of the favorites
Again there was a big breakaway but this time no important rider was with them
Grabsch and Sieberg did a great job today building a sprint train for Greipel
But then the small part was coming and Greipel´s energy wasn´t really well
After the climb there were some riders who could get a little gap to the pack
But the gap wasn´t really big and so the sprinters were coming fast from behind except of Greipel who couldn´t get a place in the first part of the pack after the ascent
Rojas comes on the right side with Petacchi next to him;Voigt on the left side with Serpa
It´s going to be a close finish.Rojas is still in front of yesterday´s stage winner
And he can defend his position!Rojas takes the stage win in front of Petacchi and Jens Voigt.Andre Greipel becomes 34th in the end as the best one of our team

I'm sure Eisel can take the lead but why didn't you send Cav.
Well,I really thought about that but it was clear that the competition isn´t really well there in Qatar so I send Eisel.
But don´t be sad you will see Cavendish soon |
