So any suggestions for who should ride the giro. I was thinking LL Sanchez shince his form is good and his mountain stat is improving its now 78 and hill is 79 with 80 TT. But maybe you guys have other thoughts on who should ride the giro so let me know.

How is it possible that Haussler and Boom were in the Top 10 in Fleche? The Mur de Huy is steep as hell!
It's better you choose your team You know the conditions and everything. Check the profiles for sprinters, hill riders or climbers. And is also the question what your goals at, top 5 or top 20 or win a stage... Some riders get very tired of riding a GT so...

Ithink hausler and boom were in the break and I think top 5 in GC for giro whoever we have. Our leader will either be LL Sanchez Jose Joaquim rodriquez or Uran. Rojas will probably go since the sprint feild is a little weaker and he has a good hills stat for a sprinter so stages with little hils shouldn't be a problem. I also want 2 stage wins in the giro. But first LBL. Tommorow

Good story Valverde321. Id say go with LL Sanchez for the giro as he seems to have very good form already (great win in Fleche btw), and then send Uran to the Vuelta as he may have improved more by then. I take it Valverde will lead the tour team? |

yeah I want Valaverde to have a chance at Tour but maybe vuelta since he won it in real life. Ok Sanchez for Giro I will do that. And LBL very soon i'm fairly sick but not enough to miss school but yet I made it seem worse than it is so i'm at home right now. (It's not skipping because I would be very uncomfertable at school.)

I thin you should like Maglia said, sending Sanchez for Giro, Valverde for Tour, and Uran for the Vuelta.
I agree with Maglia about that Uran is going better in the Autumn, as he is quite young(23), and is growing very fast.
He is also 75 in MO, so he would be a favourite with...uhm.....lets say....78 in MO. What do you think?
And, yes I think you should switch to hard, because then your story is more interesting. As jaccan started a new story in the 09 forum, more stories in the 09 forum, more stories to follow, more interesting forum, they find his story and begin to read. You have bad luck with the 08 forum placed down there, so nobody can see. Continue with your story, you'll know I'll always read, but not always post |

Just hours before LBL LL Sanchez agreed to a new contract that will extend his currennt contract to 2012. We signed him for 30,000 a year so we feel great about this.

Leige-Leige
Team Meeting: Just like the last few classics our goal is to win we have a good chance to win today with our 3 best climers Rodriquez Valverde and LL Sanchez.
The day started off with a break of 8 getting away.
And with about 90km to go Ivanov and Denis Menchov attacked and made it passed the break by about 50km to go.
Now with 17km to go and Menchov and Ivanov just 45 seconds ahead a large amount of foavourites attacked including Lance, Cunego and Scarponi. LL sanchez was told to go after these riders while Valverde and Rodriquez sit in the main group and wait for the right time to explode to the finish.
LL Sanchez and Lance formed a 2 man group but never got more than 20 seconds on the 2nd group with Cunego and Scarponi.
While LL Sanchez was showing signs of weakness Valverde blew right by and was now in the leading group. Hopefully Sanchez doesn't ride like today during the Giro.
Heres what the riders are up against a small but very steep hill. First one to the top wins. although it flatens out a bit near the end.
Here's a shot of the lead group going around the final corner now they can all the the line!
Wegmann takes the day and this is definatly the biggest win of MIlram's year. we just got beat today.

Giro:
Here is the startlist for the Giro. There are quite a few strong riders in the mountain and a few very strong Teams. Although Astana has a very weak team for their caliber. bolded riders is our team along with a few favourite weather it be GC favourites or Sprinters or a good puncheur. Just remmeber to watch our for those bolded riders as they are a threat to our team.

I would have to say that Ivan Basso looks like the main favourite to win the Maglia Rosa where as the Point's Class. looks wide open wheter it be Petachi Hagen Or even Rojas or Ciolek, Tornado Tom and Pozzato so Sprints jersey should be interesting but Rojas might have a chance. TT Tommorow.

Giro Team Time Trial
Team Meeting: Today we must not loose more than 30 seconds on the TT powerhouses like Garmin. We might surprise lots of teams though with Sanchez J Gutierez and Kiryienka all being very good time-trialists.
We were out of the start gate first. We looked very strong in the beggining but then the pace was too high for most of the team and our team fought really hard not to split.
Astana does not look very strong for this Giro with their best rider participating being Popo. They did bring a pretty good TT team though but not good ebnough for a stage win.
one of the wldcard teams. Their best rider is Soler but the don't have any good tt'rs so today was a bad day for them.
Colombia- HTC has brought a very good team t othe Giro. their best chance for a good GC spot will be in the hands of Tomas Lovkvist and for sprinters they have Boassen HAgen and they alsways have a good train.
Katusha looks pretty strong but today was not their day. We will all have to wait for something to happen from KAtusha since TT's are not the teams Strength.
No Cunego but they have Ballan and Bruseghin so watch out for them. LAmpre did fairly well but it's again not this teams strength.
Okay here we are the TT powerhouse the GC powerhouse and they also brought Bennati. This is gonna be a hard team to beat in every Category. Basso had a good day and so did the rest of the team.
LPR has one rider that has a shot at anything and thats Alessandro Petacchi who has a chance at the sprint jersey.
Rabobank always have a good TT team and today is no exception. Theyv'e got ne real GC man though so were fnie with this team beating us today.
Acqua& Sapone another wildcard team. Theyv'e got a good allround team so they could be a team to beat.
Saxobank has brought one main GC man and that's Frank Schleck who has a very good chance t oget on th podium.
Here is Serramenti. They had to bring jose Serpa becasue Gilberto Simoni was still recovering from that horrific crash in Tirreno.
Garmin the favourites for today. They brought Vande Velde and they brought Farrar. This could be a very dominant team but we will have to wait and see in the mountains.
Stage:
Team Columbia - HTC 24'40
Garmin - Slipstream + 4
Liquigas + 8
Française des Jeux + 24
Cofidis, le crédit en ligne + 25
Ag2r - La Mondiale s.t.
Team Saxo Bank + 26
Euskaltel - Euskadi + 27
Astana s.t.
BBox Bouygues Telecom + 34
Acqua & Sapone + 35
Barloworld - Bianchi + 36
Fuji - Servetto + 37
Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni + 38
Team Katusha + 39
Lampre - NGC s.t.
Silence - Lotto + 40
Quick Step + 43
Rabobank + 46
LPR Brakes - Farnese Vini + 49
Team Milram + 51
Caisse d'Epargne + 1'02
Really bad day for use but we hope to bounce back later on in the Giro.

Don't worry, TTT's are almost impossible to win unless you have full-strength Astana or Garmin.
What is your target for Sanchez? I'd say top 5 could be possible with that startlist. Only problem is Liquigas - that is one hell of a team. |

My target with Sabchez is for a poduim in the GC. It's no fun when your golas are low so mine as well make them high. Plus Schleck I think wont do too well. Just the giro isn't his thing.

Stage 2
Team Meeting: we will try for a breakaway win or a sprint win.
This is todays break. The biggest name was Nuyens.
Very Important for us Amador got some KOM points and will wear the jersey tommorow.
After the brea khad been caught Sanchez went on a massive attack to surprise everyone.
With 1500m left Sanchez still had the lead but the others were catching him fast.
Soo close but Sanchez would finish 2nd......
After a very long time the race judges had decided that Mazzanti was 2nd. We don't beleive so but that's the way it goes sometimes
