Pff, a roundabout c. 300 meters from the finish, followed by a load of cones. Rediculous if you realise that this country is full of wide straigth roads. Not needed at all - the finish isn't even in a city, so why have it there and not 500m. earlier?
Yeah, that road continued straight for a while too looking at the aerial shots. Stupid decision.

why do teams risk a riders season by sending them to a mickey mouse race like qatar? every year it's poorly organised on busy main roads which are still open and every year there are numerous crashes. i'm sure riding through a desert isn't good for the riders lungs either.
3 collar bones in 2 days so far and i'm sure there will be plenty more in the coming days. what do riders like wiggins and cancellara gain from a race like this? if i was a ds i wouldn't let my leaders anywhere near this race.
i think the ASO haven´t done anything wrong in the first to crashes which forced broken collar bones but they should better take straight and big roads for the finish and put away the cones...
it´s unbelievable that ciolek finished the stage
doddy's right. From like 5km to go, it was damn obvious that a crash was coming. Matter of time. This crash was not fault of the organization, even though putting a roundabout in the last km isn't exactly a good idea. The cyclists were literally pushing each other for 5km, they seemed so anxious to win that it seemed Paris.
And I bet that riding through the desert isn't worse for the lungs than riding through a big city such as Rotterdam, Marseille or Paris.

Chicchi didn't pull off a damn good sprint, De Haes and Kluge pulled off horrible ones. The Cervelo guy who came around late (not the guy behind De Haes in the run up, I couldn't see whether he finished 2nd or 4th) was hands down the fastest, but he came so late he didn't have a chance. De Haes and Kluge especially blocked any move from JJ Haedo or a more direct line for the aforementioned Cervelo guy.
Chicchi rode a good sprint, but not that good. It was more the aspect of 3rd tier sprinters blocking 2nd tier sprinters, and of the Cervelo guy behind De Haes going way too early.

Yeah, in the video you can see it was Haussler who was the fastest one but Chicchi did really good, I was dissapointed to see Bos crack after few meters, Chicchi was really way faster, I really looked forward to Bos' sprints, but that was too slow...
