So, into the mountains after the april classics. It's finally time for the GC riders to show up, preparing for the Giro. Well, expect that the Giro top favourite isn't here.
Still, there is a very strong field, which makes sense since theres only 6 race poinst, for which you get 5 GC decisive stages. On the other hand, due to the storng field, it doesnt make sence so I'm happy Cunego isnt here, as is SN that Schleck isnt either
With two TT's in the beginning to set the classement, a mountain stage to separate the men from the boys and two hilly stages to decides who'll win this race, it should be exciting

And even better by Trofimov. Can't be unhappy with that.

Carlos Castaño doing a decent TT here, and are now almost 30 seconds better than Samuel Sánchez. Hopefully Carlos will be captain, with the chance that Sammy can go for a stagewin in tomorrows stage... |

Pluchkin in yellow!! Strong stage by him
Eventhough I'm a bit surprised Sammy took him that convincingly in the sprint. Pluchkin is pretty fast, I think 67 or something and what is Sammy? Like 71 or?

Hilly sprints over come down more to hill stats than sprint stats.
And a nice 4th for Iglinski

Wow... Samuel did exactly that. And Carlos Castaño still going strong. Let's hope the captains role will take a turn now, as I doubt that Samuel will be able to keep up on the mountains.
But a stagewin at this point is absolutely beautiful, and with that a day in the mountains jersey, this also ads to the chance that Samuel will be 2nd Pro Tour after the race |

You're getting an awful habit of rejecting my guys to 2nd places. I can't say I approve

3rd for Sammy and a day in the sprint jersey. It looks like he has already secured himself the 2nd place, with some luck 1st place is within reach aswell |

Can't do much against Rogers, but it's still looking good for Dekker |

I'm just hoping for Rogers to hang os as long as possible now in the remaining stages
two stages victories is what I came here for, and any GC results will be more then a welcome addition
Next up is the mountain stage. maybe later today, most likely tomorrow. |

Hopefully today as I'm really looking forward to see whether Samuel Sánchez or Carlos Castaño is my captain. Samuel is in 5th 30 seconds ahead of Castaño, but the logic should really see that the latter is a MUCH better option for the GC. Both should be placed firmly in the top 20 though, hopefully one of them can go around 5th or 6th, but let's see... So far it has been good. |

good for Coppel considering the hill, and Spilak is decently positioned now for a top 10.
