[Release] Longplay DB v1.0 final
Digitizer
Longplay DB v1.0 final with ca 1200 stage variations

Hello, this little release incl. my personal DB. It is based on the Portuguese Add-On to Expansion Pack for the PCM.daily's Expansion Pack (Final).

If you want to use this you will need to install the PCM.daily's Expansion Pack (Final). And only this the rest is provided in the upload here.

Database changes

I made the following changes to the porta db: updated stats for some riders, pictures and sound files incl. for rasmussen, sella, ricco, vinokourov, kaychenko and a few others.
I also incl. a new custom Team to the continental tour. Teams name is kelme and i incl. shirts and everything needed for the team. The team consists of well known names in cycling, such as berrendero, indurain, pantani, hinoult, anquetil and so on. Three of this riders will reach high stats and two of them are potentially winners of the TDF. I had much fun playing Kelme and got good competition cause i didn'T needed to hire any other good riders. If you don't like the idea of this team you can always delete the whole team with the db editor of the game.
I also changed the roles of team captains this leads to the participation of some good riders in the giro and the vuelta so you have real competition going on there. Also Wiggins will reach high potential in one or two years and will be a serious tour contender. Also Armstrong will be stronger in 2010 but after that his stats will decline again.

Race variation changes:
I included 10 custom variations for the subida naranco (held on start of august just before the burgos tour). They are in no way realistic and consist of mountain time trial and incredible hard mountain stages. If you don't want this then simply rename this file: Klasika Urkiola.rules. I also incl. a special version of the TDF for the 100 edition of the race (will be driven in 2014). I also incl. the sound files for 2006,2007 and 2008. If you use an english edition you will hear comments about the stage profiles. For any other languages just move the files to the correct location inside your game folder (sound and so on...)

Bugs: No known Bugs at the moment (this means nothing that makes your game crash but you will experience sometimes missing landscape for 100 meters and sometimes the stage makers really made funny turns into there stages but it can all be played without crash in 3D). Tested until 2017 (gameplay will last until 2026). But, there will certainly be stages which i only simulated and might crash in 3D. Please tell me which stage it is i will fix it, upload the repairs and you can play (if you wait so long and don't simulate over it). I mostly tested the grand tours (and there only time trial and mountain stages) and a few other races if i was interested in the stage profile. All of them have worked and i never had a hang-up with the db and my game is now in 2017 and i can still play for 9 years until all race variants are maxed out. But i overworked all stages and removed all possible cause of errors. The stages that might crash will only be very few throughout your game until you have the nerves to go up to 2026.

Ok. That's it. Have heeps of fun playing and i hope you won't step over to many faulty stages. I would suggest to use the kelme team my game has been a blast with them.

How to use:

If you want to use this you will need to install the PCM.daily's Expansion Pack (Final). And only this the rest is provided in the upload here.

Extract the files somewhere. Move all the files except the LPupdatedStats.cdb file to your PCM Game Folder. The LPupdatedStats.cdb file needs to be put inside your documents folder (user/documents/PCM 2009/Database). Now you only need to select the db inside the game options and your ready to go (DB name is LPupdatedStats). The stage variations will work with any db.

Further Explanations:

Also you can of course determine when to ride which tour variant. Just go inside the cm_stages folder and there inside the variant folder. If you know open fe. the Supervolta a Portugal.rules and then any of the Supervolta a Portugal.descr files its pretty self explaining what needs to be done. In the .rules file you see when which variant is played fe 2010 = variant 7. then in the Supervolta a Portugal 07.desr files you just look around and mostly you find something like 2007_cont2hc_portugal_stage_01 blabla. This should point out to you that the stages of variant 7 are from 2007. I don't explain this further. But just look around you see you only need to change the .rules files and look inside a descr. file to find out what years stages are used.

THx to all DB Makers which work i ripped (PCM and the portugal dudes). Anyone can feel free to upload or share this release or the stages wherever you want.

Download

the mods killed the download. use this link until they manage here to upload a complete file without messing it up.
https://www.fileho...playDB.rar

No comments about the file hoster i just typed it in google and it popped up. And i'm sure the mods will soon add this to the download section and then you can dl it from here (any mod feel free to update this post and replace my link with one of your own).

How to make sure the stages work with any db:

If your uncertain if the stages will work do the following: Donwload the hannes converter for pcm 2009. With that you open the db which you want to play with. Now select to open sta_race table (scroll down you will find it). Open that table and look for the colum race_variant_name. There you will see how the race variations are called. You can now either rename these to the ones in my cm_stages/variants folder or you rename the files itself. Fe. if in your db its not Tour of Helvetie it's called Tour of Hélvetie or so. Then you can now either rename my Tour of Helvetie.descr file or you rename the column in your db.

I haven't checked but i would assume it will work with 95% of all DB used out there. Also all big races names are likely to be the same. The TDF, Giro and Vuelta fe. ...

Further Tip:
Download the RSMProfiler application. It's a small standalone app which allows you to view the stage/race profiles. This way you can easily scroll through the variants and then edit the race.descr file so the variants will pop up in the order you want to ride them with your desired profiles.

the stages work with anything. if you plan on using the db you need to install the pcm final version first.

Thanks Digitizer, I wll test as many variatons as I can, and I will probably add them to the next PCM Benelux DB as well (I already added scouting areas and much more Smile )

Ahh okay Grin so I just put the stages in cm_stages an then it works? or do I have to do something more? (I'll use my own DB, because I have made alot of changes in it)

Same question for me, with an added one...
And can you then just continue your game or do you have to edit something with the editor?

You just have to copy the stages and the variant folder without changing anything to the db

it only works when you start a new career though.

Digitizer mentioned somewhere that using these variants was possible with an already started career. How do get that to work?

I can't actually download it, to add it at the moment.

I'll try again later.

Congratulations on the release, and thanks for the work you put into it. Sounds like a really interesting project.

I never mentioned such a thing. Sure you can do that but i won'T explain how to do it (hint use an editor and swap the stage table).

You can either use the whole package or just the stages. If you prefer to use only the stages you need obviously to move the cm_stages folder from my release to your cyanide game folder. Then you need to start a new career otherwise the variations won't get applied.

Sorry, i got the impression you mentioned it, but it appears you just hinted at the possibility... Smile
guess i'll have to edit my save at your hinted position (which i was planning to anyway).
I'll also give the whole package a go sometime soon, but i have too much fun with my current game!

who hassles you? play your game and make sure to do a back up if you mess around the variation_stage and variaton_date table. the normal stage may or may not require workover also.
Personally anyone who's not really into db editing should not work over there save files. Your bound to mess your game up to the point that no one participates in any races if you don't know what your doing and also keep the small things in mind like current rider race participation etc...

So my advise is use the whole package with a new career or only the stages with a new career. If you use any other DB i would advise slow down rider development or declining of stats. Otherwise you may soon run out of good riders in the middle of your career.

Updated first post also with some explanations on how to check if our db will work with all races.

Digitzer,
Upon installing your stages, the new savegames stopped working with the Season Planner tool, all of them had an error message. I reinstalled the program and the PCMdaily DB and it works fine again, so I guess the problem lies in your mods (I've only copied the stages and variants). Are you aware of this issue yet or you don't use the season planner?
I find it a lot more complicated to play w/o the season planner so it'd be great if you could issue this problem.

Digitizer
nope not my problem. Season planer is another tool which you use at your own convenience and risk.

And most likely you fluxxed up your savegame with your editing. I don't see how this should in any way be related to the stages.

Does it even involve anything with the savegames? As i entered the database/save at the point you mentioned, the saves where pointing into the direction of the .rules xml files of the various stages/stageraces. As far as i see you only edited those did you, so why would the saves even be involved if the courses you want to have varied are already involed in a variant schedule (ie the game has about 5 variations of the TdF, which is managed through the grandtour_tdf.rules xml file or something like that). As i was able to see, the savegame is still checking that file for which variation is required to be run. the file is different with the adjustments you made (but still with the same name). So your expansion should have no impact on the savegamefiles of people playing right, or am i missing something?
Also another more general question, is it possible to have the game select the variation 'at random' from the possible variations or do you have to predefine the order (to get an even bigger surprise what race will follow next year)

Digitizer
Use anything at your own risks. The DB i provided as well as the variants gave me never any trouble. Of course if you use tools or applications from others you do this all at your risk.

not going to do that, planning on just playing your database and trying to beat indurain and co with a custom team... Smile
Still would like to get more knowledge of the program that we play, how it works, that's why i asked my last questions

quicky
the cdb file isn't in the map
