A day without radios, the riders are said to be organising a protest. Whatever, it's a sprinters day. It's also Bastille day and so expect the french to attack for national pride.
After a good day of rest in Limoges in Central France, the peloton will embark on its long journey towards the Alps, starting with 193 rather flat kilometres to Issoudun.
A perfect day for the sprinters to race back into the limelight. But could a French breakaway on the day of the 'Fête Nationale' spoil their feast? The finish line in Issoudun, home of Olympic track champion Kevin Sireau, will tell.

If Cav wants the green jersey, this is a good stage for him to win |

the terrain + the radio thing both suits a break. only the final 30km are flat really. |

It's pathetic if the riders try to organise some sort of protest. The fact is, race radio bans actually result in proper racing. |

Come on. If the riders want to ride with race radios, why shouldn't they? If they for whatever reason feel that it's best to use them, let them. |

A. The good of the sport must be the main priority. The strong teams are petrified that ther ace will become more chaotic and exciting instead of the processions we've seen since headphones were introduced in the late 90s.
B. They had a very long time to protest. They're protesting now, just before the stage. It's Milano all over again.
Screw them. Race without radios so we can have at least one, maybe two interesting days in this snoozefest of a Tour. |

All the riders and teams are arguing safety reasons. What they aren't telling you (unless you read very carefully) is that all riders will be wired to Netural safety information.

Yup. They'll be receiving every safety information they normally do from race radio. The race radios and headphones will be there as they always have. They just won't be able to talk to the DS on it.

So, to summarize.
The argument the team puts out is a load of rubbish, they just want tactics, at least on Tuesday and whenever that other one is (should be more intresting), we'll find out who can think

It'll be a boring stage anyway...
It weren't the radios that were flatening the stage

The 14th is my birthday (haha Frenchies) so my dream present is a crazy stage with a lot of late attacking. If Voeckler could win, that would push it over the top. |
