Monday - Saturday
As usual 5 stages that amount to hilly/mountainous classics, and the final hilly/mountainous time trial. One of the stages is a likely bunch sprint. (But it's still pretty hard).
As usual, anyone can win, and I expect that, as usual, there'll be many, many riders in with a chance going into the final day of this wacky race.
No time bonuses whatsoever, as usual.
So who are the lucky people who (unlike me) will get to see more than just the final TT?
And who are your picks? Mine is S.Sánchez, as he's centering his season around this race and the Vuelta. But anything can happen in this race....and usually does.
here's the startlist, for reference

I was wondering why Caisse didn't bring Valverde. After all, they had no problems letting him ride GP Indurain. |

I asked dekker how he's feeling. Appearently a lot better. I hope he's right. If he's horrible here, he won't be good in the classics.
If he's ok here, there is a little chance. If he's good here, then..jeej! |

Light schedule before the Tour.
Or, as it's looking at this point, light schedule before his suspension |

The startlist is amazing anyone might have a chance!
It's just a shame this one belongs to the ProTour... Quick-Step for instance doesnt seem to be doing much in Spain while some Continental teams would fit better.
Anyway I'm cheering for Sanchez hope the olympic champion can give the basques a chance to celebrate a home victory

Hopefully having Chris Horner back in the fold will increase Contador's chances as he missed Paris-Nice with a busted up knee. |

He's not basque, but all he has ever learned about riding a bike he has learned in the basque country.

Yiup. They only have one victory - which Evans got for them in Coppi e Bartali (think it's the last stage, doesn't really remember). Dekker and Evans'll have to make the season if Gilbert, Hoste, Avermaet and Summeren doesn't get some real results in Flandres, (Wevelgem) and Paris-Roubaix.

Uh, what the hell is Kirchen doing in here already?? He was supposed to return in May :\
Cunego is maybe the most favourite. He's been showing good results in the past weeks.
I just wonder who's Caisse leader... LL Sanchez or Rodriguez??
