Hey guys, after my Rapha story fell apart because of constant technical problems i've decided to have another go. the computers been upgraded and the game seems to be working alot faster now so hopefully it will handle the rigurs of a new story. i'm currently at uni and as my own racing season is now fully up and running i prob won't be updating too frequently at first but stick with it as i hope to keep it going through the summer. some may remember my last crack at LPR which ended when the new game came out. here's the link:https://www.pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthr...rowstart=0
I'm playing with the latest PCMdaily 2009 DB, can't remember the exact name off the top of my head and i'll be playing on hard.
So here it goes:
LPR are one of the strongest teams in the continental tour and so my main aim for the season is to get promoted into the Pro-Tour. Obviously Di Luca and Petacchi will be our leaders but we have a number of good deputies who are more then capable of getting us some results. The likes of Bosisio, Pietropolli, Bernucci and Ongarato are all more then capable at this level. Here is the squad in full.
As you can see i've got some pretty strong riders in there. As our main aim is promotion i don't really want to be wasting too many days racing in Pro-Tour races so we're gonna try to keep Pro-Tour races to a minimum. Obviously the sponsors goals will be important but thats it.
Here are the goals that our sponsors want us to achieve. The Giro ones look pretty difficult as i'll prob have to send both Petacchi and Di Luca which i didn't want to do initially. Its going to take some careful planning to achieve all these goals and keep the team fresh for the whole season to achieve our main goal of promotion.
Coming up our main rider profiles. If anyone has any questions then please feel free to ask.

Team Leaders:
Danilo Di Luca: Our overall captain and team leader. Undoubted quality and our main hope in the Giro. I think the overall win might be a tough ask but he is definatly capable of a top 5. He will be looking to score big points in the continental races this season were he is probably the srongest rider.
Alessandro Petacchi: Like Di Luca, one of the strongest riders in the continental tour. On his day one of the best sprinters in the world who's ability on the hills (thanks isso ) gives him an advantage over his rivals. Again will be looking to score big on the continental tour and take the sprinters jersey at the Giro.
Lorenzo Bernucci: Principally a classics rider. However as we won't be entering too many of the cobbled races this year he will be using his skills in the hills and strength on the flat to support his leaders and acore points on his own. Can be leader when Di Luca and Petacchi aren't racing.
Gabriele Bosisio: Showed his class in the lumpy stuff at last years Giro. He will be Di Luca's main help at the Giro but is more then capable of leading and getting wins himself.
Daniele Pietropolli: Will be a very valueble rider. His all round skill in the hills, mountains and a strong sprint mean he will be very important in scoring us points in the shorter stage races. Has the skill to contest sprints and stay with the leaders over the hills. Good lead out man for Petacchi.
So there are the leaders. Does everyone agree with my assessment and what are my chances of achieving my goals. |

Promotion should be fine. The many italian classics in August and October especially should give you a ton of points, and Di Luca should do very well in those.
Have fun getting promotion

also Petacchi always aming Milano - San Remo win..this is like obsession for him..(for any italian sprinter).
And look Giro profiles..damn..I have same problem with Bennati..hills..mountain..hills. Real hard to take sprinters jersey with sprinter.
But ofcorse Petacchi likes to have one again

the giro will be a tough goal. i don't think di luca is up to overall victory (depending on who turns up), maybe he will have a better chance in the points comp so at least i achieve 1 of the goals. |

it was the pcmdaily 2008 DB for PCM 2007. why do you ask?
a question for Cruetrue. when you fiddled with my save-game for my Rapha story, i'm guessing those changes you made won't apply to this story. would you be able to make the same changes if i was to upload the save game for this story? |

January Report:
Not really too much going on for LPR in January. No races means that unfortunately we've given our main rivals a bit of a head start. Here are the results of the month. A bit of a suprise at the Aussie Road Champs where Brett Lancaster took the win.
Cervelo have started the season early and racked up a few points to lead the continental tour. However, both Petacchi and Di Luca will be in action in February so hopefully we begin the bridge the gap. However, Cevelo look to be our main rivals this season.

GP Costa Degli Estruchi:
seen by many as the start of the cycling season in Europe, we start our season at this early season Italian race. Petacchi will be looking to start his preperation for the MSR here however there is a strong sprinting line up present.
Squad: Petacchi, Cattaneo, Cucinotta, Ferrari, Legana, Marinangeli, Montaguti, Pietropoli
As expected it came down to a sprint and the big names were all present at the front. Petacchi was competitive in the sprint but came up short finishing 5th behind the victorious Hushovd. A satisfactory start to the season and one that Petacchi can build on.

Tour of the Mediterranean:
After his promising performance at the GP Costa Degli Estruchi, Petacchi leads a squad here in France. With 4 flat stages and a small field, Petacchi should be looking to dominate the sprints as he prepares for the MSR.
Squad: Petacchi, Cattaneo, Curcinotta, Ferrari, Golcer, Montaguti
Stage 1
Petacchi was confident of the win and he got it. Not much else to say. Our first win of the season and the yellow jersey for Alle-Jet.
Petacchi takes his and our first win of the season
Stage 2
Another flat stage. Didn't go all our own way today as Petacchi was caught up in a crash. He recovered well and finished second in the sprint.
Petacchi goes down but recovers well
Stage 3
Classed as a mountain stage, not sure why. This was Golcer's day to shine. He held onto the front runners well when the attacks started to develop and finished 7th to move up into the top 10 on GC. Petacchi finished well in the bunch and is also in the top 10 after the 3rd stage.
Petacchi taking it easy in the peleton surrounded by his team
Stage 4
Back to the flat stuff today and Petacchi duely delivered another win to secure his points jersey.
Second win of the tour for Petacchi
Stage 5
Final stage and Petacchi was looking to make it 3 wins. However he was just pipped to the line by Forster. The good news is that he has moved up to 4th on GC and Golcer is also in the top 10.
Petacchi and his team enjoy the sun in France on the last stage
Forster just pips Petacchi to the line
Petacchi collects his points jersey
Overall a very satisfactory weeks racing. 2 wins, 2 seconds and 2 riders in the top 10 overall.
Up next Di Luca starts his season at the Giro della Provincia di Grosseto.
