Hi there! My name is Andreas Lövkvist and I'm a 16 year old cyclist. I have always been remembered as "Thomas Lövkvists brother", and it's teasing me. But I will fight hard to step out of the shadows and show the world what potential I've got. My cycling career has not been so great as Thomas, but I have won some big races in Sweden. Although I had my breakthrough year in 2006 (last year). I won the Swedish Youth Championships, some teams in Scandinavia and also a big ProTour team wanted me then. I picked a Danish Continental Team, Team GLS!
As a cyclist I enjoy to ride in the mountains, that's my "home". I'm pretty good at time trialing but I have my weakness in the sprints and on the cobbles. But this year I can't expect any results at all, my role in the team is of course going to be a team mate. My dream is of course to win Tour de France in the future but I don't know yet if that's a realistic goal. At least I want to ride for a ProTour team once in my career.
Our squad is pretty okay, Jacob Moe Rasmussen, Jonas Aen Jörgensen and Niki Östergaard will be our leaders this year. I don't know anything about new signings, let's wait and see.
This years goals is pretty tough, but we should have a shot at some of them.

Difficulty: Hard
I just want to tell you that this rider is made up, I don't think Thomas Lövkvist have got a younger brother which name is Andreas

Good idea and i really like how you have given him realistic stats, meaning its going to be a real challenge for you, but therefore more pleasing when the results come.
Good luck |

Make sure that Niki Ostergaards year of stat reduction/retiring/crapness sets in, isn't at 8 year old like it usually is in the PCM Spain DB.

Thanks everyone ! His potential is 7, I wanted to have a little shot to fight with the best in the world in the future. The reason to the picture is that I edited a free agent rider and I didn't replace the picture.

Yesterday I was told that I will have three new team mates, all of them is Danish, young and great talents. First we have a guy who I have raced against in several races before, Soren Kirkegaard!
Soren is a great time-trialer, and maybe he will develop into a good stage racer too.
Next up was another great time-trialer, the 21 years old Rasmus Fjordside.
Rasmus can handle almost everything, TTs, cobbles and hills.
Last and the greatest signing was pretty surprising. He was wanted by Unibet and Barloworld, but at last he choosed to stay in his home country, and here he is. André Steensen!
I'm very glad that the team could sign André, he is a great cyclist who can learn me very much on the bike. I think that André one day will stand on the podium in Paris.

Andreas Diary
29th of February
I'm starting to get tired of the training, right now I'm in Denmark. Andre Steensen and I are training together, the rest of the team is racing all over the world. But we haven't got any good results yet, a 23th place in GP de Marseille by Michael Morkov is the best. Hopefully I will make my season debut in March, my manager has said to me that I probably will travel to Croatia the 10th of March. The day after that it's time for Trofej Porec and a few days later, Istrian Spring Trophy is going to start off with a 5km long TT. That's something to look forward to, and do not expect more writing before that.

Trofej Porec
It's here, my season debut! At the start I was so excited and nervous that my legs were shaking. It's going to be great to debut for this wonderful team, they have really welcomed me and I'm enjoying the first time with GLS. Today our leader will be Michael Morkov and I think that the terrain will suit him good. My role is to keep him as fresh as possible.
Me, at the starting line.
The race started in a pretty slow tempo and that was good for me, my legs felt pretty okay when I started to protect Michael, actually the whole team except for Peter helped him today.
Micheal at the back and of course I'm there helping him.
I felt really well until the third climb with around 55 km to the line, I was starting to feel the pain. I was suffering but I saw that no one else had problems so I decided to fight for as long as possible, then I maybe wont finish last. When I started to lose metres and metres I was angry at myself.
- Come on, I said, come on, fight!
But that didn't help, my legs were totally dead.
Me, seeing that it's over for today.
- I'm sorry I said to my manager and the rest of the team, I really don't have the legs yet.
- You've done a great job today Andreas, you should be proud over yourself they said in my ear.
That was great to hear, it gave me more energy and I gave it everything I had the last way to the finish line. I could hear in my ear that the morningbreak were going to hold it to the line, but that Michael were trying to do something. When I crossed the line I was told that Alexander Kristoff of Team Maxbo Bianchi won and that Michael won the pack sprint and finished 15th. I was dissapointed at myself, I finished last, absolutely last. The pro cycling career could have started better...
Me, crossing the line in my first pro race.
I found some nice pictures from the finishes, first Kristoff celebrating and then Morkov over the line.
I'm sorry for not giving you any results but I have some problems with my Excel, but hopefully I will be back posting results from stage 2 of Istrian Spring Trophy.
