Similar in theory to Smooth Jersey's, here you may request a single stage, a full stage race, a classic, or an up-to-date version of your favourite race. If you provide me with adequate details, I will produce stages to the highest of my abilities for you.
Not only can you request the latest version of a race for use in PCM08, but I will also take requests for completely made up races, or races based around your favourite cycling route, training ride, local race. I also take completely made up requests. See below for details.
From the 11/11/08 request ONE race at a time. ie, 1 classic, 1 stage race, not 3 or however many in one go. It's not fair on other people.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. For examples of my work, some will soon be released on the un-mentionable website with high-quality graphical additions to make it as realistic as possible, and others can be seen used in the Man Game, and will probably be seen in the future. This year, the UK National RR championships were run on a course produced by me, based on a race I myself did earlier this year.
Requests:
Realistic Races:
To request a realistic race, the minimum I must have is:
- stage profile(s) and/or a place to find that information
To create a real race:
- a stage map and/or a start town and finish town along with country of race.
Transferring your rides/local races to PCM races:
To request your ride in a race, you must provide:
- the route (many can be put into bikely.com)
- how long you want the race to be (if you only ride for 40km, it's not going to be a very long race, so do you want 2 laps? 3?)
Requesting a completely new race/stage race:
- how many stages
- location of race (country/state)
- types of stages (flat, hilly, mountain, TT)
- length of each stage
- intensity of each stage (how tough it is)
- in a hilly/mountain stage, how many serious climbs/peaks/mountains
- what type of finish (mountain, hill, sprint, uphill sprint, etc)
Basically, anything goes. If you give me enough information, I can produce a race for you.
You can request a mix of all three.
For example, I may want a new Tour of Britain, that has the same amount of stages, that follow some of my own rides - I requested something from each type of request, but if I supplied enough information, then hey presto! you have a race.
Again, any questions, fire away.

I'm wondering. What are you going to do if someone requests a stage that you're going to need for the VizleFX DB? Your philosophy is no sharing, so I suppose you're going to say no to those requests? |

Nah, i think that Rjc will be allowed to share. Ill give him the nod Jaap is doing the same for us so i think its only fair. All that we want is some credit for it as it gets washed away if its used in millions of Databases. I think that if anyone wants to use the stages they should ask first. Rjc can then decided weather its a best idea to allow the use in the Db or not. |

Magically, I asked SN the other day whether he'd like to help me in this area. Being so involved with the man game, etc, he politely said no. However, he did say I could release his Tour of Britain (this year's edition). So I shall get that off of him, and put it up for download. Or He will!
As to whether someone requests a stage I've made for VizleFX, then yes, they can have the stage. But no, they cannot have the graphically enhanced or modified stage (which is done by Roadie), and they must give credit where due if they add it into their DB.

I want a stage race in the USA named the Tour of North Carolina.
Here is a rough rough rough rough sketch.
Stage 1 TTT - Raleigh - Charlotte 56km
Stage 2 Mountain - Boone - Boone 210km
Stage 3 Mountain - Asheville- Asheville 200km
Stage 4 TT Flat Raleigh - Raleigh 60km
Stage 5 Blue Ridge - Hendersonville 220km
All the stages except 4 is mountain and all end in mountain finish. Thanks
Oh and I want all the stages (except 4) real intense.

Stage 1 - TTT - Raleigh - Charlotte 56km
What the riders have to look forward to:
About 1/5th of the way up, the route leaves the main road to climb the mountain proper.
After passing through one village, the route hits the last village on the mountain. Thing's do not look fun from here!
Finally! We reach the final kilometre, and looking back down, if any team arrives with 5 riders, it'll be a surprise!
Matt, I hope you like the look of stage 1, and that it's tough enough!

Stage 2 - Boone - Boone View - 210km
With 3 hefty mountain ranges to climb, the riders will not like the look of many of the sharp inclines or descents. Luckily for them, most of the descents are straight!
The final climb will decide the winner of the race, that's for sure, and expect big time gaps between those who are good on the climbs and those sprinters.
The riders will roll out of Boone will the sight of what is to come.
Before long, during the gradual incline, they will face their first town, and climb out of it!
A ride through a fairly large forest insues, until the riders pop out the other side to face a sparse climb upto one of the highest towns.
After a quick descent and not-so-quick climb, the riders will be cheered on by supporters of all nationalities.
They won't be happy to see what they have to descend. Especially when they see they have to climb back up straight away.
The final climb is brutal, with percentages upwards of 20%.
