I have a problem. Some days ago I installed Paint.NET. And then something strange happened. All the .tga files in my PCM08 directory was converted into Paint.NET files.
Then I tried to add some new cyclist photos, but all the .tga files I downloaded was converted into Paint.NET files. Every single file on my computer who used to be .tga is now Paint.NET files. The only thing I did was to install Paint.NET, and edit a picture without saving it. What can I do to convert it back to .tga files? |

AH!!!! I think I know what that is.. (Not sure)
Right click on one of that files->Properties and change the default opener program to the default on your computer (the one it started with)
I think that should fix the problem.. I think I had that too |

So technically there was no problem all along because Windows listed the .tga files as Paint.Net files because that what is was using the open them with, but ultimately they were still .tga files?

Uhhmm... Can you upload some photos about how you do it? Because when I try to switch the opener program, the programs that comes up is the following:
Adobe Reader 8.1
FlashGet
Internet Explorer
Media Center
Microsoft Office Picture Manager
Microsoft Office Word
Notebook
Paint
Windows Photogallery
Windows Calendar
Windows Live Photogallery
Windows Media Player
WinRAR Archiver
WordPad
So I don't know which program I shall choose. |

You can use both Windows Live Photo Gallery or Paint. You can use Microsoft Office Picture Manager also, but it is slowly. |

Yes, every tga file. Do I have to do something else, not just use Paint as an opening program? |

Download this:
https://www.softpedia.com/reviews/wind...5593.shtml
And then change the opener program of .tga files for this one.. It's what I use and it works great |
