The introduction

As of the 2020 season, a new Latin American team will join the MG. After the approval of the MGUCI, manager Nemolito reached an agreement with Los Pollos Hermanos to be the main sponsor of the new team. The fast food restaurant, with a Chilean manager and originally founded in Mexico, hopes to be part of a successful Latin American cycling adventure.

The shirt

Los Pollos Hermanos has two main colors; red and yellow. The management of the team asked GCN manager the_hoyle to create the first kit of the team, which he accepted. I am very happy to have asked him to do so, as the final result is everything I could have hoped for.

Interesting to see how you'll build your team - Mexican with a taste of the Belgian cobbles is an interesting one Pfft And very intrigued by some new manager beef already starting with you and Guave  Good luck!

Interesting to see if you end going for a cobbles focus come transfers, it's a tried and true strategy in CT that has helped some managers promote out of CT before, including Strava. Welcome to the MG!

Welcome to the game. Good luck with your first season.

So let me guess this straight - this team is based in Belgium, with Belgian management, but competes under Chilean+Mexican flag with primary focus on Central and South American riders? Wonder how will this turn out.

Anyway, good luck in your inaugural season.

Great kit, even better sponsor. Getting them hooked on chicken wings and crystal meth as a sidegame for the riders.

All the best!

Well that's a jersey that will surely stand out in the peloton Smile

I like the idea of a Latin American team and there should be plenty of room still in that market. The Belgium aspect should also make this team competitive.

Good luck for the season Smile

Nearly added Los Pollos as a sponsor for my team! Glad to see they stepped up to take over the naming rights of another team instead. Look forward to seeing you out there

I like it a lot. Can't wait to see your plans, good luck and tons of fun in your first year!

Thank you for the warm messages! To get it straight, the young riders I acquire will mainly be Latin American, except for the cobblers. I will also try to buy some older riders, where nationality does not play a particular role, as I just hope to be competitive in the CT as well. I'm definitely not aiming for promotion as I don't believe it will be possible with the experience and quality of some other managers starting again or already being in the division. In the long term I hope my team can exist out of +- 75% "homebred" Latin Americans, filled with cobblers and probably other leaders.

¡Hola, guapos!
The transfer window has been challenging for Los Pollos Hermanos. Few disbands last season, experienced and passionate managers relegating from PCT and having some new managers with PT experience start over have not made things easier. One of the results is that Los Pollos Hermanos has not been able to sign as many Latin Americans as they hoped to. However, the team has already welcomed their first six Latin American riders, which will be presented in this post.

The Sprinters
Marco Guillen 4.100 33y/o €50.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
66576055646066608080535655
Marco was our first signing. After two seasons as a draft rider at Swisslion Cycling Team and Centovalli - Fiat, we thought it was time to give the man something to feed his family. He did decline, and never really had the strongest backup stats, but we hope our favorite Costa Rican can shine in the CT for one last time.
Carlos Alexandre Manarelli 4.100 31y/o €50.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
72535957716573617979576657
Talking about weak backup stats, meet our other sprinter, Carlos Alexandre. Our clothing sponsor Kirschner Brasil asked us to sign at least one Brazilian rider. Carlitos seemed to be one of the better options, functioning as co-leader or lead-out for Marco. Two sprinters ready for the retirement home, who will probably stay with us for only one season. Let's see if the crystal meth, I mean fried chicken, will take their performance to the next level.

The Baroudeurs / Lead-outs
Romeo Quicibal 4.100 26y/o €50.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
78586867697167636266756761
O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? He's got a beautiful name, he's young, he's the national champion of Guatemala and he's ready to rumble. Romeo Quicibal will try to help out as a lead-out or controlling a break when asked for, but will also be given his chance in the breakaway himself.
Alain Quispe 4.0 26y/o €50.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
80525261626064535673845561
Alain is not only the same age as Romeo, he is also the national champion of his country, Peru. Alain wants to prove that backup stats are unnecessary. His fighting spirit is so high he broke Los Pollos Hermanos' manager Gustavo Frings' jaw when being offered a 40k contract. Just like Quicibal he has one season to prove himself, if he disappoints we will make sure Conor McGregor is the one giving the news his contract will not be renewed.

The Mexican Van Aert
Jose Gerardo Ulloa 1.0 24y/o €50.000

Comparing him with Van Aert might be exaggerating a little bit. Nevertheless, we hope to turn Jose into a future cobbling domestique, and we couldn't be happier to have a Latin American in that role. Cobbles are not really popular in Mexico, but Jose, who is actually a mountainbiker, decided to give it a go at our team. We don't expect much of him this year, and just want to give him to experience to become a better rider. Sadly, he is no longer Avenir eligible.

The Fulgencio Bru
Fulgencio Bru 4.100 29y/o €50.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr

Don't tell Fulgencio, but we expect nothing from him. His mountain stat is horrendous, and last season he scored zero points at his previous team, Minions. We don't plan on participating in many hilly races this season, but Fulgencio will be our leader in the obligatory ones. If he does manage to score a point somewhere and somehow, his birthday will become a national holiday in Cuba.

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and we hope to give you some more transfer news soon. I can't promise that many more Latin Americans will come to our team this season, but at least we have those six. Also I'd like to say that I am quite new to posting on a forum like this one (and it is a bit overwhelming at first figuring out how to have a decent looking post) and I used cunego's format, after he gave his permission to do so. Apparently he was not the first one using this format, so thank you to the original "inventor" as well (Sotd?). ¡Hasta luego!

Great to see Guillén has found a nice home after his stunning last season! He got just half of what he was asking for, but hey, at least he'll feel more at home with you Smile

Manarelli and Bru, good to see former Minions getting new homes. Manarelli especially should still be a good shout in CT races!

Ulloa looks like he could become a really nice rider, cool pickup! I will be rooting for you, as I will for all my "classmates" starting new this season Smile
