Here is a thread for the people who dont want to make a story but want to describe what is going on with there Career at the moment. Ask advice, as "Who do you think i should buy?" "Who should i pick for the world championships" Generally describe what is going on with your career. Have you found a great new scouted rider...
Ill start us off -
Team CSC - Saxo Bank
My first race was the Aussie National champs i really wanted to win with O'grady. I sent Matt Goss up the road ready for later on. The plan work perfectly. 3 laps out i used my energy gel and attacked on the main climb and then attack again on the down hill. Bridged the gap to Goss and then they relayed as far as they could. 1 Lap to go favorites attacked on the final climb. The came up to the back of O'Grady but i attacked on the down hill and sprinted to victory
Then i went on to the Tour Down Under. O'Grady was the leader. I had a Awesome tour, here are the stage results
1 - O'Grady
2 - Zabel (O'Grady 2nd)
3 - O'Grady
4 - Zabel (O'Grady 2nd)
5 -O'Grady
6 - O'Grady
How awesome is that!
Im now into the Tour of California and ive won the opening stage with O'Grady
So get posting if you dont want to make a story |

This is great for lazy people.
I started a career with Euskaltel and quickly signed 3 free riders- Van Emdem, Luis Martinez and Pean Iza (I know, only one of them is Basque!)
Anyway did very well in australia with a poor team-
3 podium finishes, the green jersey and 11th overall for Galdos Alonso (73 sprinter) and 4th overall for Luis Martinez
Think I might go to hard level for the rest of the season |

cool idea !
I started a new game editing the DB to create a new Pro Tour Team Medion - Bianchi. Basically it is a squad of dopeheads including many spanish freeagents like Beltran, Pecharoman etc.
Max Richeze and Petacchi are also in the squad as well as Jan Ullrich as the team leader.
The main goals for the season is the TdF where the GC win, a stage win and the green jersey is expected.
In Addition Win of Milan - San Remo and Stage win in Giro are sponsor goals too. Till now I am in late April and sponsor confidence is poor, although I won Milan-San Remo with Petacchi (basically the first sprint of the pack on MSR ever since I played the game) ahead of Freire and Bennati.
I hope Petacchi will win a stage in Giro and quit before the mountains, then I will bring him in shape for the Tour.
Ulle will peak at the Tour de France and will be in decent shape for the Deutschland Tour and the WC.
I'm quite optimistic I can reach the goals. Statswise Ullrich is very close to Evans, but with much worse Hill (76) stats and higher TT (82) and slightly better Recuperation.
It's very fun to play till now, difficulty is hard. |

I dont see how this could get confusing... Just make sure that there is a reference to what your career, team is. Shouldn't be that hard of a concept |

I think its a great idea for those of us who want to share but not write a full story.
I'm using Dankans database with the Scandanavian add-on.
I've started with Joker-Bianchi which is very much an uphill battle.
You start with 9 Norwegian riders (mostly under 24) and very little money (approx 300k).
I managed to get one small sponsor but to balance the books I had to lose some staff and hire cheaper versions.
As for the team its built around 3 riders:
Lars Petter Nordhaug - 23yo stage racer with high 60s in most stats (Inc sprint).
Frederik Wilmann - 22yo northern classic rider with high 60s in the expected stats.
Alex Kristoff - 20yo sprinter with 70 sprint, he also has mid 60s in hills and cobbles.
The sponsor goals were:
Le Samyn 5/3 - Top 10
GP Herning 4/5 - Top 10
Colliers Classic 5/5 - Top 10
Post Danmark Rundt 1/8-5/8 - Wear Climbers Jersey
Post Danmark Rundt 1/8-5/8 - Top 5 finish
The other important sponsor races were the Norwegian Champs (29/6) and Polynormande (3/8) which clashed with the Post Danmark Rundt.
With the exception of the Polynormande our season was built around these races starting in February and finishing in August.
We had a good start to the season as Wilmann chased a few climbers jerseys in February and we had some top 10 finishes. Kristoff then managed to complete our first sponsor goal in March as he finished 4th in Le Samyn. Things went downhill for the next couple of months as the better riders came into form and we missed both sponsors goals in May.
After a short rest the riders were back and warmed up for the Norwegian Champs with the 'Ster Elektrotoer' where Nordhaug claimed our first podium by coming 3rd on the last stage. Unfortunately we couldn't stop Hushvovd taking the Norwegian title but our 3 main riders did finish in the top 10 with Kristoff best placed in 4th.
The highlight of July was another podium for Nordhaug as he claimed 3rd on stage 2 of the 'Trofeu Joaquim Agostinho'.
August saw the team hitting peak fitness and they used it well as we finished our season on a high. The month started badly though as we struggled in the 'Post Danmark Rundt' but Wilmann did claim an early lead in the mountain comp to complete our second sponsor goal. We quickly put the disappointment behind us and headed for the 'Paris-Correze' two day race. Nordhaug finished runner up on stage 1 and held on to finish 2nd overall. We pushed on to the 'Tour de l'Ain' where Wilmann finished runner up on stage 1. Finally our season finished at the 'Tour du Limosin' where we achieved our best results of the season. Kristoff won stage 1, was 3rd on stage 2 and did enough to claim the green jersey. Nordhaug won the last stage but it wasn't quite enough as he finished runner up overall.
Final Stats:
Nordhaug - 1*1st, 3*2nd, 2*3rd + 14*4th-10th
Kristoff - 1*1st, 1*3rd + 10*4th-10th
Wilmann - 1*2nd + 3*4th-10th + various climbing jerseys |

Team: Joker-Bianchi
Off-season 2008
Despite only completing 2/5 sponsor goals they were very happy with our other results and increased our budget from 300k to 1.9m.
With money to burn my original intention was to keep the team to a core of Scandanavian & UK riders. Unfortunately with a lack of choices we had to relax this policy as several targets turned us down in favour of other teams.
My first two signings were scouted riders:
19yo Kjetil Wahl was described as a "future great" by our regional scout but its going to be a long, slow road to the top.
22yo Max Lutro on the other hand has promise and our trainers say he is showing bags of potential.
and finally I came to an agreement with a couple of other riders:
34yo Jacob Moe Rasmussen - Experienced sprinter with TT ability
27yo Dariusz Rudnicki - Another sprinter to complete my target of four in the squad
with the sprinters sorted I focused on the climbing side but failed to come to an agreement with anyone. With only 13 riders my policy was dropped as I brought in my final rider:
20yo Italian climber Ervin Haxhi - Good abilities for his age but lacks potential
So 14 riders for the new season which isn't ideal but with time running out I didn't have a choice. With money in the bank I then turned to improving the staff and equipment with heavy investment in both areas. |

starting with fdj and the season is going pretty bad
the best i managed so far was a 2nd in a stage of volta ao algarve with jegou and a 4th place in first season race of gilbert, next race is omloop het volk and the sponsors expect a victory(crazy people)
i have a mythical scout tht i send him to uk in the beggining of the season and he didn't find anything yet(march), is that normal?

Medion - Bianchi Giro Conclusion
So the Giro was quite a success with no real GC contender my team was totally focused on lancing the Sprints for Petacchi.
He won 2 stages and got 2 third places, Richeze as the lead out man came 2 times on the podium too. Meanwhile Ullrich started his season with the Volta a Catalunya and got 2nd overall just 11 (!!!) seconds behind Menchov. Menchov won the first mountainstage with about 30 seconds ahead of the second group containing Ullrich. in the Mountain TT Ullrich won within hundreths of seconds before Menchov while on the last Hilly Stage Ullrich finished in the group before Menchov gaining 20 seconds on him, but not enough. |

I finally got around to start a 'serious' career. I'm using the A.S.O DB, although I have edited some here and there, replaced some graphics, etc.
I'm managing Team Columbia and just finished February. I haven't been all that succesful yet, unfortunately. Tour Down Under didn't really bring any success which is a shame since it a sponsor goal to win it. In the following race, Trofeo Mallorca, it went a little better as Edvald Boasson Hagen won the 1st stage. 3rd overall with Michael Rogers. I also got a 3rd place overall in Volta ao Algarve with Thomas Lövkvist. March is starting now, though, and Michael Rogers seems to have timed his form perfectly for Paris-Nice.
I'll "update" once it a while

Adria-Mobil
In season 5, that's 2013, and they world of cycling sure has changed. Alberto Contador had the Tour dominated until 2011, in that year, he fell, and number 2 Andy Schleck took the victory. That was also the year I participated first with Adria, one of my Slovenian talents who I trained after scouting him, finished 21th at almost an 50 minutes of the winner.
In 2012, Schleck already lost his crown to Robert Gesink, who simply has a better time trial than Schleck, and therefore keeps beating him since he is equal in the mountains. My talent, Joze Preseren, finished 9th this year, my best succes in a grand tour so far.
Preseren also won some small tours that year like Tour de Romandie and Tour de Pologne.
So now I am in 2013... the best hilly rider is Ricardo Ricco, who has returned from his suspension and become the best hilly rider within a year. Also good on the hills are Peter Velits, Jelle Vanendert, Nibali, good old Cunego, Schumacher, F.Schleck and ofcourse T.Dekker.
The best time triallist is Thomas Dekker, although Tony Martin and Mikhail Ignatiev have turned out to be quite close to him.
The best cobble specialist is now Greg Van Avermaet, Cancellara is still there, but not as good as he used to be, Boonen has also weakened. Other great cobble riders are Maaskant and Langeveld, Boasson Hagen, (who is also a great sprinter), and lots of Belgians, scouted talents with names like Mpenza... : /
The best sprinter is Mark Cavendish, who has grown to the limit of 85 SP. Since the second best sprinter, Boasson Hagen, has 'only' 82 SP, you can predict how dominating Cavendish is in a sprint, as long as it's flat and there are no difficult hills near the finish... His lack of hilly capablities make Hagen. the better hilly rider, win more actually
And finally the best GC riders/climbers. A.Schleck and Gesink both have 84 CL, Contador has 83..Contador has the best time trial of these three with 80, but Gesink is close (79) while Schleck sucks (71). Kreuziger (81 CL, 82 TT) and Dekker (80 CL, 84 TT) are close, but lack climbing power. |

1st Season with Silence-Lotto on Hard
Won the australian championships with Cadel after an attack on the final few climbs.
Mediocre Tour Down Under with a 3rd place overall GC at the end with McEwen. Mostly finished in the podium with McEwen and got one win except for the 5th stage with that climb. I attack with Cadel but in the end only finished 3rd with no time gap because Cadel was tired and his breakway (including Bettini and O'Grady) got caught and the time gap was 0'. I skipped all the Tours in febuary in order to get my whole team some time in the saddle. Next big races are the Tirreno and Paris-Nice. Im also looking for a good result in Kurne-Brussel-Kurne (pardon spelling IM ONLY AMERICAN DAMNIT!). Season Goals include a finish in the malliot verte in TdF. Personal goals are wins in the overall GC of the TdF and the Vuelta. Also wins in the Paris-Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege would pretty frickin sweet.
Good idea Smoothie.
Also Kudos to Ruben on getting to 2013.... damn |

Dierckxsens - Team CSC-Saxo Bank - Season 1 - Update no. 1
Having been given the privilege of managing Team CSC-Saxo Bank (SXB), I feel I should give an update on how things are going.
The goals for this season are:
Top 5 Milano - San Remo (Achieved)
Win Paris - Roubaix (Achieved)
Win Tour de France
Win Vuelta a España
Win Giro di Lombardia
Wins so far this season:
Monte Paschia Eroica (Fabian Cancellara)
Milano - San Remo (Fabian Cancellara)
GP e3 - Harelbeke (Kurt Asle Arvesen)
Paris - Roubaix (Fabian Cancellara)
Tour of Georgia, stages 3+6 (Gustav Larsson)
Tour of Georgia, overall (Gustav Larsson)
Rund um Frankfurt (Fränk Schleck)
Paris - Nice, stages 1+2 (Fabian Cancellara)
Amgen Tour of California, stage 1 (Fabian Cancellara)
Volta Communitat Valenciana, stage 4 (Nicki Sørensen)
After a shaky start of the season with bad timing and near-misses in the first races things started getting a bit easier after Cancellara finally breaking the bad spell and bagging Milano - San Remo.
With 2 goals achieved I'm hoping I can slack off a bit for the Giro which is coming up in a couple of days. Chris Anker Sørensen and Jens Voigt have been spending 10 days at the Ajaccio training facilities, hoping for a couple of stage wins and maybe a top 10 position. I know it sounds low-ambition but having spent some riders already I need to hold back on racing days as I have big challenges coming up. Sastre is set for the Tour de France and Andy Schleck and Fränk Schleck are set to step up come the Vuelta a España and Fränk Schleck is the man for Giro di Lombardia.
Will update you again later in the season.
Peace |

Excellent thread idea, so much so that I finally decided to post! Hello everybody!
I'm managing Team Columbia, difficulty Hard (first game I've played on hard), and have made it all the way to the Vuelta so far in my first season.
Goals:
Win TdU - failed (2nd place for Hammond)
Stage win Le Tour - completed (Kirchen and Gerdemann)
Top 10 Le Tour - completed (3rd place Kirchen)
Top 3 Tour de Suisse - completed (3rd place Gerdemann)
Top 3 Ronde van Vlaanderen - failed (5th place for Hincapie)
3 completed, 2 failed, so overall not bad!
Preseason:
signed Machado and Boom, sacked a couple of rubbish domestiques.
Highlights of the season so far:
National Championship wins: Michael Rogers (Australia), Thiago Machado (Portugal) plus one more ITT that I can't quite remember (at work at the mo) - Tony Martin for Germany I think!
Grand Tours:
Le Tour - Kim Kirchen 5th, Linus Gerdemann 11th
Giro - Kim Kirchen 3rd
Vuelta - underway, highest in GC is Lovkvist (Team Leader) in 20th after 1st mountain stage () - this is my weakest GT team since the Deutschland Tour is a major race for me. Stage win for Hincapie and Team in the TTT.
Best Rider: Kim Kirchen - Top 5 in 2 GTs, plus 2nd place in Vuelta al Pais Vasco (Behind Michael Rogers - 1st time I've ever managed a 1-2 in a stage race!), 3rd in the Tour of Romandie and 2nd in the Dauphine Libere. Kirchen is currently 2nd in the overall riders category behind Valverde (Giro winner) and ahead of Evans (Le Tour winner).
notable other riders:
Michael Rogers - Aussie Champ, won Pais Vasco, currently 2nd in Deutchland Tour, plus other stage wins.
Linus Gerdemann - 3rd in Tour de Suisse, 11th in Le Tour, plus a number of stage wins.
George Hincapie - Stage win in Vuelta, podiums in MSR and Paris-Roubaix, won Tour of California.
Sprinters have underperformed, mainly through bad race allocation on my part, and the fact that I'm not very good at setting up sprinters at the end of stages - I have had numerous podiums, and more 4th to 10ths that I can name, but only a small number of wins, and far fewer that should be expected with the likes of Cavendish and Ciolek!
Most improved rider: John Devine - now has a mountain stat of 80!!!!!! and most other stats are above 70 as well, so he could be a very good stage racer next season.
Overall, good performances in Le Tour and Giro, plus numerous podiums elsewhere have us on top of the Pro Tour Team standings at the moment, but a predicted shocking performance in the Vuelta will probably drop us off the top spot before the end of the season.
Looking ahead to next year, I have so far signed Pacheco as a mountain-climbing sprinter to challenge for Grand Tour green jerseys (mountain 70 sprint 78), Pardilla as a stage racer (mountain 79 hills 75 I think) and Ricco, coming off an abbreviated ban, as team leader to race the Giro and Vuelta next season.
I can post a full breakdown of victories when I get home from work if anyone is interested.
